Letty walked into Brian's place with nothing but her jacket in one hand and a small backpack on the other. She dropped the backpack in the hall and got in, examining the place. Brian's dog was barking on her, she assumed they'll have to walk him out a little soon cause they weren't home all day.
And what a day it was...
"Yo Brian, I gotta take a shower man..." Letty said loudly, hoping he'll hear it. She grabbed her bag and took out some clean clothes - throwing it on the living room couch. Living with Brian O'Conner, this is going to be weird. She sighed tiredly.

"Sure, go ahead. It's upstairs." Brian made his way into the kitchen to grab a cold coke from the fridge. The can fizzed when he opened it. While he took a drink he looked at Letty making her way upstairs. It was almost too unreal that she was actually here. Alive. Just walking up the stairs like nothing happened. He called after her. "It's behind my bedroom. Help yourself to towels and clothes." Then he wnet to the kitchen sink to wash his hands. The water was nice and cool. He splashed some in his face and leaned on the sink. What a day.

Letty entered into the bathroom and took her clothes off, she stood in the shower and washed her body along with her reality in the last few months. It was too hard for her to do that switch in her head and realise that she was now free. She was free to do whatever she wanted, she could walk down the street knowing nobody's following her, she could get a job and be normal again. Hell, she could race without being forced to, it wasn't too much fun racing for Braga when he left her no choice.
Only one thing still bothered Letty. Dom, the team...this was something too meaningful in her life to turn her back on now. It was too hard, maybe every other person would have walked away and want to start clean, but Letty couldn't. The team was the closest thing to family she never had, Dom was her lover and her friend and she couldn't just turn her back on it. She missed her old life too much and was willing to do everything in order to get them back.

It took Letty awefully long to take a shower. So Brian decided to grab a towel and check wether she was allright.
He knocked on the door and yelled. "Hey Letty. The LA water works called. They are running out of warm water."
When he knocked the door came open Brian didn't look in through the gap. Not that Letty wasn't an attractive woman to look at but Brian knew Dom would whip his ass if he knew plus he respected the girl far too much. She had been to hell and back and still held her head up high. Brian admired her.
He stuck his hand with the towel through the gap. "Here's a clean towel. Everything okay?"

Letty released a soft giggle as she heard Brian's unsure voice. One wet hand reached to grab the towel but Letty made sure the rest of her naked body was out of Brian's view. She grabbed the towel and murmured a 'thank you', quickly wrapping it around her waist.
"Now get out, playboy, I gotta get dressed." She said hoarsely but playfully, closing the door in his face. Getting dressed in Brian's bathroom was honestly a situation she could have never imagined, if you told her that it would happen three years ago she'd think you are crazy...she sighed in front of the mirror as she got dressed, looking deep into her reflection's tired eyes. It is the end of an era... she thought to herself as she hanged the towel behind the door and walked out of the bathroom and through the hall.

Since Letty needed to get dressed Brian decided to go out to the back deck and enjoy the sun for a while. He tossed the ball for Buster a couple of times and then sat down in an old deckchair and stretched his long lags out. He was tired. The past little while had been a whirlwind of events and the cop felt that he was going 100 mph even in his sleep. He softly touched his side where the bullett had grazed him. For once he thought about what would have happened if had hit him. When something had to be done or a fight broke out Brian never thought about the danger, he just threw himself in there but once the action was over his brain kicked in and he realized how he put his life on the line. Letty was definetly worth it.

Dom was going through his things that he was able to bring with him to Prison. Within his sweatshirt he found his cell phone, as he turned it on he thought for second. Was he able to send text message since he hasn't paid his phone because he was in Prison, he new that he couldn't call anyone. He decided to give it a shot. He put the phone on vibrate, He hit the messaging button then hit text message, he typed in Letty's number and then Brian number just in case if Letty's number didn't work. He wrote "Letty or Brian I found my phone but I can only text. Letty I could hear you calling my name the other day on the phone, the prison guard took the phone. What did you want to tell me?" He sent the message.
Dom then put the phone is pocket and went to dinner.

Letty could hear her cell ringing for a couple of times from the upper floor. She hopped up the stairs quickly and opened the text message -noticing it was from Dom's cellphone number. She read his words and tears came up to her eyes. Letty rubbed her eyes and texted him back.
"I'll tell you when we'll meet. soon. hang in there, Letty. she pressed a few buttons quickly and finally hit the 'send' one. She took a deep breath in and walked down the stairs still with the phone in her hand. It was too weird for her to think that Dom had a cellphone in his cell. She had to tell Brian and see if this was even possible.

As soon as they'd come home Jack went back to playing his game. It was his way of forgetting about the events of that day, but he found it hard to concentrate. Their new addition was constantly pulling and gnawing on the leg of his pants and no matter how many times he pushed the animal away, it kept coming back for more. Being harassed by a dog was not his idea of fun and relaxation. With a growl he yelled out "Could someone feed this mutt!" Just like he had expected nobody responded and it looked like it was up to him. Shaking his head, he tossed the controller on the couch and made his way to the kitchen where he found the door to the back open. He leaned against the door frame and looked at Brian who seemed to be consumed by his thoughts. "You alright?" He gave a nod towards his brothers bandage while he added "That was some crazy shit back there."

As Dom was at dinner he phone vibrated in his pocket, he didn't open it until he got back to his cell. He took his phone out of his pocket and read Letty's text. He going to send her another text but his phone died. He throw it back into his supply of stuff.
The prison guard came to his cell tell him that tomorrow is going to have visitor. (california state prison - Visit Dom in prison)

Brian nodded with his eyes closed. "Welcome to my life." He felt the warm California sun on his face. Then he opened one eye and looked at Jack. "That's the part of my life you didn't know before." He saw Jacks look at the bandage and shrugged. "I'll live. Right now I'm all good!" He was still a bit numb and very tired. "I'm sorry I dragged you along to Mexico. I shouldn't have. You don't even know Letty." The dogs started sniffing at each other and Buster let out a low growl, which put the little one in his place. "Easy, Buster." The dog kept showing his teeth while the puppy hid behind Jacks legs. "Have you picked a name for your pup yet?"

"Don't worry about it" Jack shrugged while he added "It was my own choice to come along. Besides, Letty seems cool." He gazed down at the small dog cowering behind his legs and shook his head. "Not really" It wasn't like he didn't like the dog, though he would never admit it, but being responsible for a life besides his own gave him the creeps. He was sure he would screw it up sooner or later. "I'm sure you're more creative than me" He turned his eyes back on Brian "But I'll leave you at peace. You seem rather tired, old man." He said jokingly and with that he walked back into the kitchen to get himself something to drink.

Brian whistled. "Hey, Jack! Bring me a coke, too, will ya?" Buster lifted his head as if the whistle was directed at him. He curiously eyed the small pooch, who had left with Jack, when both of them came back from the kitchen. The dog let out another low growl while the hair on his back was standing up. "You just have to let them settle who's the boss. They'll figure it out." It was a little bit like their own relationship for a while growling and barking at each other. It seemed all settled now though. "I'm just glad you're not growling at me anymore, brother. And I'm glad you didn't get hurt. Mum would never let me hear the end of it. Are you in touch with them?"

Letty stepped down the last step and into the hallway, she saw Brian and Jack standing next to each other, talking. She'd bet it wasn't as important as what she had to say so she just lied her hand on Brian's shoulder to get his attention. Her hand shoved the cell in his face so he'd read the text message from Dom that was written all over the screen.
She didn't even say a word, Brian's smart guy, she knew he'd figure it out on his own. Letty just raised her head and examined his face, expecting his expression to change as soon as he reads the message.

Brian studied the message for a minute and thought about it. He looked into Letty's brown eyes, which showed a mixture of hope and pain. For a second he looked back at the screen and then mumbled. "I don't think it's him, Letty." His face now wore a frown. "I'm really sorry but I think somebody's playing a trick on you. He wouldn't be allowed to keep his cell phone. You know that." Letty had been through aweful years of seperation when Dom was in Lompoc and must know very well what he'd be allowed to do. Gently he took her hand. "I'll set up a meeting with him as soon as I get into the office tomorrow. You should probably come with me and clear things up at the FBI. I'm sure they'll arrange a meeting considering the circumstances."

The spark of hope in Letty's eyes didn't die with Brian's words. "It can't be someone else, Brian!" Letty said firmly and read the message again. "It says 'Brian or Letty' and he spoke about the moment we talked and the guard took the phone away. Who else knows that I'm with you and that me and Dom spoke for a while from jail? No one. Its gotta be him!" Letty said and shook Brian's shoulder desperately.

"Allright. Let go, girl." He grimached because her shaking made his fresh wound hurt. Then he nodded. I think you're right. Why didn't I think of that before. Right now my mind doesn't really do what it's supposed to." He thought for a while what he could do. "Letty, I'll tell you all about what happened when you were gone and you'll have to fill me in what happened in Mexico and how we can bring those bastards, that held you prisoner, down." Brian hoped she would settle for that since he couldn't do much more at that moment.

"Alright." Letty said and flipped her cell closed. She seemed satisfied - for now.
"But we gotta see Dom as soon as possible, this week it we have the chance to." Letty added after a moment of silence. She looked up to Brian and hoped for his positive reaction, hoped that he would agree.

"Allright." he gave her a reassuring smile and pulled her into a hug. "Don't worry. We won't leave him in there. He'll be out after his trial. the FBI told me he'd be a free man." he remembered how Dom had asked him whether he still put out milk and cookies for Santa Clause. But Brian beleived the feds. They had cut him more than one deal and they would do the same for Dom, right? Brian wouldn't tell Letty about his doubts. "He did it all for you. Dom thought Phoenix killed you. So he killed Phoenix. We told the Feds it was an accident. Phoenix was about to shoot me when Dom ran him over. He basically saved my life. But when he thought he'd lost you he was ready to do anything...even go to jail."

"You know what...this is so like Dom!" Letty raised her voice and broke the hug as she heard Brian recalling all that happened while she was away. "But I'm really sick of the games Bri, like...seriously. I love racing, but I'm done with jacking trunks. We'll figure something out...but once he'll be free...were starting clean." Letty declared, remembering her original goal that almost got her killed.
Through these years Letty had matured alot and her latest actions definitely made it clear. She was tired of chasing ghosts and all she wanted was to get her man and her family back. It felt so good to be around close friends like Brian. He was amazing all this time and she knew she owes him everything for saving her. It felt too surreal to listen to Dom's voice even though he was still far away. At the end of the day nothing was worth losing these things. She decided she had enough.
