"Would you just cut out the leg jokes?" brian shoved him at the same time he pushed his foot down on the gas and flew around a right corner just in time to cut another car off. The power of the engine forced his left shoulder against the door as the back tires briefly lost grip. A second later the back was back where it belonged after a quick counterstir. "Ha!" Brian yelled out for joy. He just couldn't help it, driving was just too much fun even though the Evo jumped each time he shifted gears. "Where to?"

"I'll cut the leg jokes when you ease up on that clutch, bro." He muttered as he buckled himself in after the Evo skidded a corner. He had never absolutely hated being the passenger when Brian was behind the wheel, but right now he wasn't exactly enjoying either. Maybe it had something to do with that fact that it was his car for a change, but.. Ah well, at least someone was having fun.. He couldn't help but laugh at his brother's happy exclamation.
"Wherever you want. The highway, the old race track.. I got time to burn and the Evo's got a full tank." He shrugged. "Just as long as you don't leave the state, huh?" He joked, smirking slightly. A little bit of self-ridicule never hurt, even if the reality of it wasn't all that funny. At least he could say that part would be over soon if all remained going the way they were.

"Ah that, yeah." Brian looked away from the road and down at Jack's worn out sneakers. His hand slipped down to pull up his pants. "You got one of them electronic shackles on that will beep when we cross over to Mexico?" Now it was time to jank his brothers chain a bit. Brian let his foot slide off the gas because right now he couldn't see where he was going. Of course he had a good look before so he wasn't going to smash into any other cars.

"Ey, man! Eyes on the road!" He smacked his brother upside the head before his pants could be reached. He was all for pulling shit, but not behind his wheel and most definitely not while he wasn't the one driving.
"But if you must know, yeah, those fucking things itch like hell, too." He grumbled while his hand immediately went down to his ankle. Even just thinking about it seemed to make his skin under the damned thing itch. He really couldn't wait for it to be taken off again.
"How's the knee feel?" He asked after trying in vain and giving up on putting an end to the itching. His eyes briefly wandered down to Brian's injured knee. The jolts of the engine between shifts seemed to be becoming less, or maybe he was finally starting to pay less attention. Either way, anything was better than talking about his latest fuck-up.

Brian laughed at Jack scolting and looked back on the road quickly bringing his brothers car back in the middle of their lane. "Where's your sense of adventure, bro?"
With his hand on the stick he geared down a little too rough once again to overtake an old Dodge. "When's the hearing?" Brian would make sure to have a look at Jacks file before it went to court again.
The next question took his mind of the welcome change of subject and back to his knee. For a moment he wondered whether this was another attempt to jank his chain or actually genuine concern. he decided to give his brother the beenfit of the doubt and while he put the EVO back into 4th he carefully ran his hand over his knee. "Tell me something about itching. Imagine that steel was under your skin. It's really weird-bugs the shit out of me..." he wrinkled his nose at the tought of it. "Seems to work better today though, keep your fingers crossed, I don't want to go back under the knife but with your refined workout plan here it's looking good." He clapped Jack on the shoulder.
The sign for the 405 was right ahead of them and the tank not even 1/4 empty. So the EVO rolled up the ramp onto the highway and cut into the right lane in front of a huge truck. A splitsecond later it sat comfortably in the third lane leaving the other cars in the dust.

Jack snorted at Brian's comment. If his brother still didn't know where his sense of adventure was, than maybe he should actually show his latest accessories. Dipshit.
"Uh.. Wednesday next week, I think." He mumbled, giving a small shrug. He still sucked when it came to remembering dates, even ones as important as this one, but he was sure Faye would help reminding him. If he didn't have her sometimes..
"See, I told you you just needed to get off your 'feeling sorry for yourself' ass. Who's the asshole now, huh bro?" He smirked, his hand reaching for the car stereo. He grinned wider when Joe Walsh started blearing through the speakers with 'Rocky mountain way', old and from way before his time, but definitely not bad. For a moment he sang along obnoxiously loud just to annoy his brother before he burst out laughing. He couldn't believe how sour he had been these last couple of.. months? Damn, how fast did time go? At least the fast ride in the Evo seemed to change that, even if he wasn't the one driving this time.
"Come on, bro! She's got a hell of a lot more under the hood than this!"

When Jack started showing off his musical talent Brian ducked and knitted his brow. "Whoa, really? I thought you didn't want me to crash?" As a result of Jacks encouragement he pushed the pedal to the metal but could feel his muscle getting tense. It would soon cramp up. So he quickly checked the rear view mirror and went back into the right lane to shake out his foot before he excelerated again. This time pushing down hurt a little. Should he really keep driving? After all he might have to break suddenly. Brians eyes were fixed on the road. He didn't want to hear Jacks mocking if he gave up but he could literally feel his eyes on him. Quickly he changed lanes and sped up again, thios time agressively so they could feel the power of the engine pressing them into the EVOs bucket seats. "Nice...what does she max out at?"

"Hey, I happen to have an awesome voice and you know it!" He grinned, turning the volume further up. He didn't have little trunk space left for nothing and with a good ride went a good amount of subwoofer-hell in his opinion. At least he was enjoying himself now. Whether his brother still was.. Eh, he didn't really care anymore.
His brow furrowed slightly when the Evo drifted back to a righter lane. He wasn't used to Brian doing that, should he not have encouraged his brother this much just yet? He wanted to say something, ask his brother if he was chickening out already, but it was soon shrugged off when the Evo switched lanes once more and sped up again.
"I'm not sure I've ever truly pushed her to the max yet. Fastest I've taken her was somewhere around.. 200 mph, I think?" He shrugged nonchalantly, but at the same time couldn't help the smirk on his face. He did damn well love this car.

"Really?" Brian gave Jack an incredible look. "Seriously?" He couldn't beleive it. That was the first thing he did when he got a new car...get a feel for it and then find out where the limit was. "Pah, that's even sadder than your singing." He snorted. Of course he knew it was a bad idea to see how fast Jacks baby really could go. They'd get booked or his leg would cramp up or ....whatever. For the first time in three months Brian had truly overcome his own obstacles and taken a chance. And now he felt that familiar tingling sensation in his hands that gripped the wheel tightly. It spread throughout his core and didn't let go of him until he geared down, made the engine howl, saw the rmps shoot up and pressed the pedal through the bottom of the car. The slight backwind helped to highten the speed and his emotions. He had to actually controll his breath to not get overly excited. The needle wandered up steadily until it reached 200 and fought its way further up. At just over 210 the car reached its full blown force and didn't excellerate any further. The scenery was flying by like a green mass of colours and forms. Not at any moment did Brian flinch in the slightest.

"Pff, suck on this, dumbass." Jack gave his brother the finger. He already had more than plenty of speeding tickets on his name, most of them not even payed yet, and loosing his drivers license or have his car impounded, maybe even both, was not one of his desires. They didn't all have connections through brown-nosing to both LAPD and FBI to get their slates wiped cleaned, now did they?
Still, he watched Brian as if to provoke him and the smirk on his face grew once more. He could see the expression change on his brother's face when the Evo pushed further and further over the speed limits. It was a feeling he knew all too well himself, the overwhelming rush, the adrenaline, everything..
"Yeah! Now that's what I'm talking about, bro! Beats sitting on your ass any day, doesn't it!"

"Hell yeah." Brian muttered more to himself than to Jack. 'What's been going on with me the past weeks? It shot through his head. That was really a thought that had to be put off as it was taking his concentration off the task at hand which was driving the crap out of Jacks Evo. A painful stinging sensation suddenly took his mind off the road and his hand off the wheel to rub his thigh. A glance to the right lane, the mirror, foot off the gas and a stream of curses underneath his breath while he tried to get into the middle lane and out of the way of another speed junky. Unfortunately Brians cramped up leg wouldn't cooperate anymore and objected to stepping on the breaks instead. Instantly he could feel his heart race. he would kill them both or send them right back to the hsopital if he didn't manage to keep control. So despite his suffering his hands went back on the steering wheel and directed the car into the emergency lane where it kept rolling quite fast even without any gear engaged. Unfortunately the emergency lane was framed by rather large rocks. To slow down further Brian pulled the ebreak. That ánd a slight movement of his deathgrip on the wheel caused the car to swirf enough to scrape against the rocks. 'Oh, that'll be my end'

In one moment everything changed. The course of the car, the speed.. and his expression. Oh holy hell, this was not happening. Not to his fucking car. The side-mirror was the first one to go, shattering to pieces before he could even do anything. His hand shot toward the steer next, pushing it back to the left when the rest of Evo's side scraped across the rocks. Shit, shit, shit! He wasn't aware the e-brake was still fully pulled up by his brother and the car immediately skidded in the opposite direction under his action, nearly clipping the side of an at full speed and honking eighteen wheeler before he managed to pull the car out of harms way once more. What did that fucking truck driver think? That he hadn't seen the bloody thing? If the situation had been different, he would have flipped the son of a bitch off!
"Fuck! Ease up on the e-brake, man! You're blocking the fucking wheels!" He yelled, shoving Brian's hand away and lowering the handle back down himself. What was his brother even thinking using the e-brake in blind panic, and at this speed in his car? If Brian wanted to get himself killed, there were easier ways to do it and after this, well, let's just say he wouldn't at all mind having a helping hand in that!
"Shift to neutral and use your good leg to brake, or so help me god, I will fuck that one up too when we get out of this alive!" He growled while he kept his hand on the steering wheel.

"I'm in fucking neutral!" Brian yelled back in pain. A cramp was no pleasure cruise and obviously disabled him to think straight. He let go of the ebrake and stepped on the brake with his left leg. Why didn't he think about that before? Maybe because he was too busy sucking up the pain. Cars behind them started honking and flashing their lights, flying by them and almost running into them and the EVO finally came to a halt in the emergency lane. Breathing heavily Brian let go of the wheel and stared at the missing mirror. He looked over at his outraged brother to see whether he was okay and groaned. "Cramp! Sorry, won't do it again." Right then the remainders of the mirror dropped onto the hot pavement.

"You're dead.." He muttered while he glared at his brother. His words came out surprisingly calm, but the promise.. it was more than there. 'Cramp' his ass, more like a fucking brain spasm! Scoffing, he reached for the keys, turned the engine off and pulled them out of the ignition. He violently pushed his door open next and got out of the Evo, throwing out any possible and colorful curse word he had in his vocabulary, those being quite a lot. He didn't want to see the damage done to his baby, he really didn't..
"Oh, for fuck sakes!" He exclaimed, his voice clearly not so calm this time when he closed his door. The whole side had been mangled from the front of the car all the way to back. Dents, scrapes.. He squatted down and ran his hand over the damage. Shit, there were even a few tears in the bodywork. Grabbing what was left of his mirror from the pavement, the muscles in his jaws tensed while he straightened back up. Moments later the piece of carbon fiber was angrily thrown at a honking car as it passed by, hitting the vehicle's fender before he made his way to the driver's side of the Evo. He was pissed, more than pissed and it showed when he pulled the door open.
"Damn right you won't be doing that again. Get the fuck out of my car." He growled, not planning on giving Brian much time to react on his own account. He could care less about caused pain nor could he care whether maybe he shouldn't have pushed his brother in to driving. Soon he gripped Brian by his shirt's collar, yanked him out of the seat and onto his feet before pushing him aside. Though not toward the speeding traffic, as tempting as it was right now..

Jacks angry burst out was more than understandable. The guy didn't own much and the EVO was the only thing that was of any value. Even though he was his younger brother and had never intimidated him before he did now. The sound of his voice was threatening and the words more than serious. While Jack inspected the damage Brian first burried his head in his hands cursing loudly, then rubbed his damn thigh to releif the cramp, which was slowly getting better. What a stupid idea in the first place. Brian should have known somthing like this could happen. Before he was ready for it his upset brother janked him out of the car and pushed him away. "I'm so sorry, man." Brian yelled over the traffic and honking. He hobbled around the car to inspect the damage himself. Holy hell was the cars side ever fucked up. A shaky hand was run trhough his hair and over the stubble on his chin. 'Thank goodness I run a garage' He tought but didn' dare to voice just yet. "Oh, shit." He looked up at Jack's bright red face and took two steps back worried he might actually jump at his throat. "I'm going to fix this. Don't worry."

"Shut up! Just shut the fuck up! Don't tell me you're fucking sorry!" He growled through gritted teeth. He paced back and forth a few times to cool his heels, his jaws clenching and unclenching. He wanted to knock his brother's head from his shoulders, more than anything right now.. Ah damn, why were these stupid morals holding him back. If it had been anyone but Brian, and with an injured knee on top of that..
His eyes shot back on to Brian the next moment, his expression tightening even more at his brother's words as he raised his eyebrows. Don't worry? He'll fix this? Oh, those words didn't exactly fall well with him. His hands balled up in to fists as he stalked forward, ready to punch Brian's teeth out, yet he managed to stop himself from actually doing so when he was only a split second away from hitting his brother. Fucking conscious, as soon as Brian healed up enough though, he'd damn well repay this score and it wouldn't be pretty either.
"Have fun limping all the way back home, 'bro'." He spat before he shoved his brother hard enough for him to fall ass first on the tarmac. He turned around after shooting Brian a quick and unfriendly smile, made his way back to the Evo and slid behind the wheel. The engine started soon after, it's loud roar matching his own anger when the car peeled off over the emergency lane before it rejoined the rest of the traffic at a good speed. What better way to cool off than the 'out of sight, out of mind' method, right? Fuck Brian.

Brian could practically already feel Jacks knuckles on his face when he stomped towards him shouting angrily. It was a big surprise that he managed to hold back his anger. Was he actually growing up and becoming reasonable? After all it had been Jacks idea that Brian should drive fast.
So Brian bit back every remark and was ready for another apology when Jack pushed him over and took off. Brian struggled back to his feet now also pissed off and shouted after him. "Whose idea was this, Jack? Whose?" But his brother closed the door and sped of with smoking tires. Grown up? Not one bit. "Fuck you!" Brian yelled after him. What was he supposed to do now? Walk to the next rest area? "Wonderful" He thought to himself. Nobody would stop on the highway to give as hitchhiker a ride. Brian couldn't beleive his brother actually ditched him. So all he could do was start walking. The first minutes were okay but the further he walked the more his knee gave him troubles and the limp got stronger. In his mind brian wished every possible injury upon his brother he could come up with. He didn't even have his damn cell phone and it could be miles to the next rest stop.

It only took mere seconds for Jack to watch his brother disappear from the rear view mirror, but already he could feel his conscious gnaw away at him and this time for different reasons. The words Brian had shouted at him, he knew damn well it was his idea to take the Evo for a ride, his idea to push the car further and further and now he blamed Brian for what had happened. Even he had to admit by now it wasn't an entirely fair thing to do, nor was what he had done exactly classy.
"Shit.." He muttered, his hand hitting the steering wheel out of frustration. As much as he hated Brian right now, he couldn't just leave him limping alongside this highway with a bad knee. He would never forgive himself if he had fucked up the healing progress with his actions.
He checked his rear view mirror just once before he quickly pulled up the e-brake, throwing the car in to a drifted U-turn. The honking cars, the flashing headlights, everything was ignored as he doubled back over the emergency lane moments later. If there were any cops around now, he was fucked. But hey, where was his sense of adventure, right?
His expression darkened once more when the Evo skidded to a halt near his brother. He leaned over the seat, pushing the passenger's door open without offering Brian as much as one word. He might have come back, but that didn't mean his attitude had changed.

Brian saw the Evo coming back towards him...mind you he was going the wrong way on a highway which took some gutts. For a moment he contemplated whether he shoudl simply ignore his brothers 'efforts'. When the car stopped close to him and the door was pushed opened he leaned inside but shurgged. "I'm having too much fun walking all the way back home." Then he pulled his head back but before Jack could hit the gas he quickly sat in the passenger seat, pulled his sore leg in and closed the door. He couldn't blame Jack for being mad but leaving him standing there sucked. At least he had come back pretty fast. So Brian tried to simply stare ahead and bit back all nasty comments.

Jack leaned his elbow on the window frame, his head resting against his hand. His focus was kept ahead as he snorted at Brian's words, the engine revving threateningly in response. They both knew Brian would be getting in the car anyway, but if his brother wanted to play games with him now..
The door was barely pulled closed or he shifted in to reverse. The Evo shot backward as he pushed down the gas, the tires smoking and screeching in protest under the sudden action. He allowed enough speed to be picked up before he shifted to neutral, turning the wheel in one swift move for the nose of the car to slide around quick and smooth. Within seconds, he straightened out the wheels while he engaged first gear, allowing the Evo to roar forward when he accelerated this time. Directing the car back on to a normal lane not long after, his eyes still remained as steely and unamused as they had been right from the get go. Everything, from doubling back, to the 180 J-turn on this highway, it would have been a rush if he hadn't been too pissed off to actually pay attention. He couldn't even enjoy it thanks to his fucking brother.
