When Brian called in with a code 'Dakota' meaning a very urgent matter that required an immediate response his boss asked him to come into the office right away.
Half an hour later the O'Conner brothers found themselves in the sterile office of Agent Penning himself aka Brian's boss spelling out the situation. Needless to say that Penning wasn't impressed with the fact that now he had to put another O'Conner on the bureaus payment plan. he shook his head. "I don't like this, O'Conner. We have no idea what is in that warehouse or who will be present. Plus sending him in there with you...I don't know." He looked at Jack. "How old are you, kid? Do you know how to use a gun?"

Jack raised both his eyebrows at the fed standing in front of him. Who was he trying to impress? "Kid? What am I, five years old?" His eyes shifted between the agent and his brother when he realized his big mouth was playing up again and he should tone it down a bit. He cleared his throat before he answered the questions this time. "I'm 26 and yeah I know how to use a gun.. well enough anyway" How hard could it be? After you've taken the safety off, you just aim and pull the trigger. Now actually shooting someone, that was ofcourse a different story and he obviously had never done that before. But if necessary, there was a first time for everything though Jack hoped it wouldn't go that far.

"Well enough...great." The man replied grumpily. Then he turned to Brian. "Last informant you brought us ended up dead. Is that what you want to happen to your brother?" Brian straightened in his seat. "No, sir. I'm going to make sure he's allright. He's going to stay in the car..right, Jack? Plus we'll get him a vest." He neglected to inform his boss about the fact that Letty actually wasn't dead. That would be too time consuming right now. Time that they didn't have. "Can we have a team on standby in case something goes wrong."
The man started pacing to the glass door shooting a look out at his team and nodded. "We will. Okay. You have green lights. You'll be wired, use a gps so we know where you are. Get agent Trinh to help you with getting the ID of the man who paid you a visit. Find out everything you can about the warehouse."
"Yes, sir." Brian replied obediently. He knew he needed his bosses approval. "But I don't think a wire is going to go down well with the gang in case he's checking us. Can I leave my cell line open so you can listen in and track it?"
His boss nodded his approval and came to a halt in front of Jack again. "You stay in the car?"

With a sigh Jack crossed his arms in front of his chest and slouched even more in his seat. The guy was making him antsy. He never liked authority, bosses or taking orders but this time he had no other choice. So he played the good little sock puppet. Nodding he mumbled his reply to Brian's boss "Yeah, I'll stay in the car" He wanted to say something else like how was staying in the car going to be his ticket to safety, but he decided against it and simply clenched his jaws together while he stared out in front of him. One wrong peep out of Jack could cause Brian's boss to change his mind about him coming along and that was exactly what he didn't want. There was however one question that kept popping up in his head. He could stay in the car, but he felt he needed a little more protection than that in case things went wrong. "Do I atleast get a gun?"

Brian flinched when Jack asked about a gun. Just the thought of it made him more than uneasy. Jack would either end up shooting Brian in the back or kill somebody accidentally. At least Brian knew how to take the bad guys out without killing them. But he also knew that he might need one if worse came to worst.
Penning first gave him a long stare and then said. "I guess so. Have you had any weapons training? Do you have a license? Cause if you don't all you'll get is rubber bulletts." He waited for Jacks answer, then laughed. "That's what I thought. Go down to the cage. Brian will give you a form so you can get a 'baby gun'." Before he sent them both on their way he pointed at Brian. "O'Conner, you'll make sure he's going to be allright, right? I don't want to have to write a lenghty report on why I let two jackasses like you go undercover. Now get out of here and send Stasiak in. He'll be your backup."

After they both left the office Jack finally let out what he'd been itching to say, though he preferred it if it had been to the agents face. "What an asshole" He glanced over at Brian. "What the hell is a baby gun anyway and rubber bullets?" He shook his head in frustration. Why did he even bother to ask for a real gun. "And is this Stasiak guy even any good or should I write a goodbye letter just in case?" Jack realized he was just ranting and that it wouldn't change a thing. He had no other choice but to just go with the flow. After all the feds were doing their job so what in the world could possibly go wrong.. "Let's just get one of those things. Than atleast I can hurt them before they shoot me with their real bullets." He knew it was a stupid joke but he smirked never the less.

The thought of Jack being shot twisted Brians gutts. He stopped dead in his tracks and told him. "Don't even go there." On his way to the elevator and down to the basement he explained. "Penning comes off like an asshole. But he's backed me up and closed his eyes on what I do a lot. I think he actually likes me. He just wants to make sure I keep my shit in line. Stasiak...can't stand the guy. He blew a mission a while ago, which could have ended up bad. Didn't wait for my signal and sent his team in. He knows he can't screw up any more though."
When the elevator doors opened with a 'bing' the two men stepped outside. In the basement was what the called 'the cage'-their weapons storage. Here you could find every possibly legal killing device that you could possibly want. He grinned at his brother while he rambled of a list of what he wanted and added at the end of his list. "...and a 9 mm with rubber bulletts for my brother."

"Are you sure that's all going to fit in that cute little purse of yours?" Jack smirked at his brother but it soon changed to a frown and a rolling of the eyes when he heard the last addition to the list. "Awesome. You think I could use you as target practice?" With a serious face he slapped Brian's shoulder while he added. "It would seriously make my wildest dreams come true" Then he simply smiled amused and filled out the required form before he was handed the gun. It was when he actually held the thing and examined it that reality really hit him about what they were going to do. The rubber bullets still irked him. "I take it we're done here? Unless you want to bring a bazooka aswell" He only half smiled. He was just glad one of them was properly armed.

Brian shoved everything in a large canvas bag and then turned around to face Jack. He put his hand on his shoulder while he took a deep breath. Brian tried to find the right words but as usual had a hard time doing so. "Listen, Jack. I know you're probably excited. It happens to me all the time but ...this is serious shit. I have no idea what's going to happen tonight but I tell you what I don't want to happen. I don't want you to get ahead of yourself and get shot. Those are real bulletts and they'll tear a big fucking hole in your head." He looked him in the eye traing to make him understand how serious the situation was. "I don't want to loose you, okay?" His voice cracked a little because this wish came from the bottom of his heart. As much as Jack annoyed him at times and made him angry and sad, he loved him. Then he grinned at Jack. "Just kidding, I can't stand your sorry ass. C'mon, let's kick some ass." He raised his hand for a brotherly shake.

Jack just nodded throughout the slightly unexpected speech. Despite of what may seem on the outside, on the inside he knew damn well this was nothing to kid around about. He really wasn't planning on doing something stupid and getting himself shot. When Brian looked him in the eye, he stared right back. He hated it when his brother became more serious. It made everything too real for his taste, but maybe that was what he needed for once instead of pretending that he was immortal. "I'll be fine." After a short pause he added. "We both will, alright" In all his worry about him, Brian seemed to forget that Jack wasn't the only one who could catch a bullet and Jack wasn't prepared to loose his brother either. It had come close enough to that in Mexico. Finally he let out a sigh of relieve when things lightened up again. "Yeah, likewise bro" With a smirk he answered his brothers shake. "I'm all for ass kicking!"

Brian shook his head at Jack with a grin. He was such a smart ass. You just had to like him. "Why don't you go home and get some rest while I finish the research and try to figure out what to expect tonight." With another slap on the shoulder Brian made his way back into the elevator. Upstairs he met with Trinh to find out whatever they could. His colleague and friend asked him a thousand times to be careful and whether this was really a good idea. "This is gang land!" She kept saying but Brian assured her that he would be fine and that she should stop making him nervous. In the evening the team had a quick get together to have a look at a map of the location and their positions but everybody was told to stay put unless Brian signaled for help so they wouldn't blow his cover, which he needed for the future.
