It was probably a good decision not to pursue the idea any further. Still Brian wanted to know what had happened because he partly blamed it on himself for letting her become an informant in the first place. Brian had known that informants had died before and still he had given her the in into the FBI. "I should have never let you become an informant. It was way too risky. Even Dom's freedom is not worth risking your life for." The moment he said it he knew how ridiculous his words were. Hadn't he just put his own safety and freedom on the line by breaking the big guy out of the prison bus? Family was family and you'd do just about anything for them. "I'm sorry for what you had to go through." Nervously he scratched his head. He wasn't good facing his own mistakes or at apologizing-especially if people though he was full of shit anyway like Letty.

"Bullshit," she forcefully replied. "Dom's freedom is worth it," she then went on. Yes, she loved him that much. Then, accompanied by a grin, she glanced at him. "You think you could've stopped me?" Other than the sharp tongue and bucketful of attitude that were so defining for Letty, the fact she was stubborn might as well be one. Helping family was important enough to take risks - trying to 'save' someone who could be described as lover and soulmate earned her the right to risk everything.
His apology didn't mean much to her. Those kind of words never did, though in a way she was glad he said them, even if it wasn't really his fault. He might feel it that way, but it would have happened anyway, even if she hadn't been his informant in Braga's ring. She didn't know what had triggered the initial shooting at the 'meeting point', nor why she had been lucky enough to escape that, but the shit had happened and there was no way of changing it. And she still didn't like the subject, hence her doing an attempt to change it - probably easy to see, but a good chance it worked. "But what was it you mentioned about a garage," she asked.

So she wasn't going to give up any more than that. Fair enough. Brian eased up a bit and let the smile return to his lips. "Garage , yeah." Side by side they were walking through the sand until the reached the street and their cars. "A friend dropped a lot of cash in my lap and found a great place so we opened up a massive garage." He pressed the unlock button of his latest Skyline, which still didn't have a decent paint job. "We have a woman working there who builds custom engines but there's so much work coming in we could use another hand...especially because my brother doesn't want to work with me any more."

Fishing out her car keys, she nodded as he mentioned a friend dropping a lot of cash in his lap. Normal girls'd be surprised about that, but in the 'circles' she had and still moved in, those things happened. Fortunes were made and lost in ten seconds. She was curious to see the place - garages always held some attraction to her. Not to mention that a place to sleep and perhaps some money wouldn't be welcome either.
Her turquoise Eclipse seemed to scream for attention as it stood there on the parking, surrounded by pink cabrio's and beige VW Beetles. The whole 'don't draw too much attention' apparently hadn't come through all the way, but the car didn't just look fast. It was. It wasn't her dream car, but her old Plymouth had truly died in the crash. After unlocking her car she quickly grabbed her flip flops and then dumped her bag on the backseat. Driving with bare feet wasn't her favorite. Ignoring the remark about the having use for another hand, she 'jumped' to the second part of his remark. "What'chya do?" she asked. It was polite, for her it was a safe topic, and perhaps she was just curious.
OOC: I wasn't sure how much Letty knew/knows about Brians brother, so I left it a bit vague xD

Brian also grabbed his Vans from the car and pulled a shirt over his head that once upon a time had been blue before it faded to what could be called grey with a lot of holes in it. As if he couldn't afford a decent shirt. But why bother if it only gets dirty anyway. At her question he rolled his eyes. "It's more what he did..." Brian didn't bother telling her all the various fuck-ups of his brother ending with a well placed wrench to the head nor could or wanted he to remember them all. In his book Jack was a fuck up but he still loved him dearly and cared too much about him to just tell him to get lost. "Don't ask...it's just Jack, you know, I guess he got tired of actually working and my company. Can't say that bothers me too much." Lately their relationship had gotten a few dents and scratches...come to think of it. It had always been that way.
He sat down and turned the key in the ignition, revving the engine. It was a reflex more than anything. Brian knew Letty wasn't a girl, who was easily impressed by the roar of an engine. You had to drive the thing as well, and you had to drive it fast. Both Brian knew how to do...so he did.
The way through the city traffic took them less time than usually as for some reason her presence made his foot push down a little harder on the gas a usual. Did he feel the need to impress her or maybe competition?
OOC: Can't remember, maybe pm Jack. I think you might know that he exists but that's about it.

She merely nodded when he shortly answered her question about Jack. Almost as an aftertought she pulled on her cropped shirt, as usual stained with oil and grease. Most of her clothes were, anyway. Sliding her sunglasses down, she was ready to roll - and apparently so was Brian, who revved his engine. A smile flashed across her face - those tricks didn't impress her at all. She had grown up around the Toretto's, and as such needed more than a roaring engine to be impressed.
She was glad he kept the pace up when they went through town. Letty was an aggresive driver, rather rough around the edges, and she hated the kind of sunday drivers that stayed ten miles under the speed limit. It seemed Brian had that idea too - although he wasn't one of those sunday drivers, his style was a bit smoother and easier going than hers. Still he seemed to have gone out of his way a bit; was it to keep her happy or was he trying to impress her? He should know that didn't work that easy.
As she pulled to a stop next to him her eyes twinkled a bit. Driving had always been something she had enjoyed, from her first lessons from Dom up to now, even if it had brought her some trouble as well. Almost lovingly she drummed her fingers on the wheel, waiting for the light to turn green and let them pass. With a mischievous smirk she looked sideways to Brian, revving her engine as a tease. However, when the light finally turned green, she was fast to get away, but after that waited for Brian. After all, she had no clue where she was going.

Her style of driving edged him on and he went over the speed limit more than usually. Letty let him pass and he led the way to the garage shooting the odd glance in his rear view mirror every now and then to make sure she was still there. Of course she was.
Pulling up at the huge garage he killed the engine and jumped out. Needless to say he was proud to own a place like this. He lifted his hands and turned to her. "Glad I finally have a decent job?" He joked and then walked inside to see whether Walter or Diablo were around.

She smiled when he took the lead, ending up in front of a huge garage. For a moment she just watched, then she shut her engine off and surprisingly gracious stepped out of her car. Her eyes scanned the property - it wasn't what she expected. She could see why he liked to show it to others, why he was proud of it. For a moment sour feelings welled up in her - he had this garage now, apparently enough money to live happily off, together with Mia, while she had fought for her freedom and Dom... Well, he was still wanted. However, she was happy for the man, even more so for Mia - presuming her 'sister' was happy.
With a backwards glance she locked the car, stuffing the keys unceremonially in the actually too-tight pocket of her shorts. At least she couldn't loose them like that. Besides - keys weren't the only way to get an engine started. "You've don well," she commented. "A lot better then your previous one, at least," she replied to his 'joke', although there was a core of seriousness in her reply.

"I knew you'd say that." He commented and showed her around. "We have 3 lifts, over there is the paint room, here Angel is putting together some fine engines and out back is my pride and joy." He pushed the back door open just to find somebody taking one of the customers cars for a cruise around the small track. Probably Angel trying to test it. He crossed his arms over his chest watching her do her thing for a while. Hopefully she wasn't going to do any of her famous trick driving. Then he clapped Letty on the shoulder. "I have to get the invoice for the customer ready. He's going to be here soon." With those words he went back inside to do his least favourite part of the job.

A sarcastic chuckle escaped her when he told her he had predicted it. "Really, man? I need to change, then," she easily replied, looking around the indeed huge garage. He should indeed be proud of a place like this. It was not only huge, but also well equipped and, from the looks of it, running smoothly. Not only indoors it was nicely done, but after he, practically beaming, threw open the back door, she understood. The small track didn't look bad at all - in fact she realized she'd like to do a round on it too. Street races had always been a part of her - their - life, but with her being 'dead' it was a bit hard to just enter a race. Still, she had found ways when she was fit enough and had something better than a doubtsome rust bucket, but she did miss the adrenalin rush that came from a race. Especially winning one - she had learned from the best, and it was a fact that girls were easily underestimated.
She nodded when he told her he had to prep an invoice and left her in the door opening. Slowly she turned around again, letting her eyes linger over the lifts, the door to the paint room, and the (partly) assembled engines. And, of course, the cars. She almost expected Dom to come around a corner any moment, friendly scolding her that she wasn't under a car working on it, but the moment faded quickly and she was again alone in a fairly strange garage, in the company of a man she didn't really know what to think of, which was rather uncommon for her. Letty often was quick with judgement or any other kind of making up her mind. She really didn't know what to make of Brian, though. He was a good friend to Dom, for which he earned a lot of points, but he was a cop. A fed, even worse. But he also was Mia's husband. All in all, she -every time she met him- decided to postpone the like/dislike decision one more time.

The small office in the back was the most disorganised part of the garage even though Angel had tried to set up a system that would work for Brian. Just like when he was a cop he only half-cared about the paper work and liked to be out in the field much more. Reluctantly he went to the small fridge and grabbed a bottle of water before he turned on the computer and frowned at it as if it would change anything. As soon as the screen came to life he started putting together the invoice when he already hear the sound of the front door opening. A quick look told him it was the guy wanting to pick up his Eclipse. Brian quickly printed everything and came around to the front to meet the man and handed him the keys to his car. "The new exhaust system is in place and we tuned the engine to give it that extra bit of spice. I think you'll like it, bro. Wanna take it for a spin out back?" He montioned for the track where he could still spot Angel but Letty had dissapeared. The man said that he was in a hurry and paid his bill. "I'll tell my friends about this place." Then he left and Brian sat back down in his chair and took a drink of cold water. His eyes fell on a picture on the wall. It was of his very first race against Dom...Brian had gotten his hands on it during his time in Miami as a cop. It was a surveillance shot taken with a long lense and part of his file. Since that very race changed his life forever Brian had decided to keep the picture.

Mira walled into the garage pissed off at her Charger. It wasn't running as well as she wanted and for the life of her she couldn't figure out why. So she decided to tale it to the one mechanic she trusted with it. "Brian? You here?" she asked as she looked around. Her blue and green eyes full of frustration and her tiredness.

Some unfamiliar voice was calling his name so Brian got his butt out of his comfortable desk chair and walk into the garage where he spotted a familiar looking young blonde woman. He remembered fixing her car not to long ago and taking her to a street race where she met Han. Unfortunately he could remember her name. "Hey, how are you. How's the car?" He offered her a smile.

From a little distance Letty looked at the young woman with the black and blue Charger. Looked like the kind of car that wouldn't look wrong at the street races, even if rather... Inconspicously colored. Of course, that was relative, and it did look fast. She was used to bright colored cars, much like her turquoise Eclipse, or the pink Nissan she had driven, or the other brightly colored cars around. At the sight of the car she realized she soon had to show up at the races again - dead or not, it was something she had dearly loved, even without Dom. Not that that had happened often. Only two years, actually, and then she hadn't really raced.
Curious to see Brian with someone else than the gang, she leaned against a car, crossed her arms and watched him, hopefully not too obvious. Not that it bothered her majorly, but she didn't want to draw too much attention. He could always brush her off as the next customer if she bothered him.

Brian leaned on the counter while he was wrecking his brain for the blonde womans name. Since when did he have such a shitty memory. Out of the corner of his eye he saw the car out back still going around in circles. So that was what his employees were doing when he was out. Then he saw Letty leaning against a car and waved her over.

"it's pissing me off." Mira told him with a large sigh. "I was in a race the other day and the charger wasn't running right. I looked and I can't find anything wrong. But I figured you could." she smiled slightly. It had been a long day alreadyfor her and from the looks of things it was gonna get longer with her dad returning from his trip chasing a fugitive for work.

Brian knitted his brow and looked at the silhuette of the car parked outside the garage front door. "Can you describe the problem a little more? What wasn't right? And when? When you were exellerating or what?" The frustration was written all over her pretty, little face. "Don't worry. We'll figure it out."

"Its not running as fast as it should or as it did a week ago." Mira told him as she ran her fingers through her white hair. "thanks Brian. Youre the best mechanic in the city." she smiled slightly. If he could get it fixed Mira could finally race Han, who she spent some time with. And she had fallen for Han too.

Her comment made him blush. Brian knew it wasn't true. The ex-cop wasn't even close to being such an outstanding mechanic but he surrounded himself with really talented people who could accomplish almost anything. "We'll figure it out. I'll give you a call before we close or do you want to stay around and have a coffee."
This would be a good little project for Letty if she wanted to earn some cash. Brian stepped to the back door and whistled. "Let's come on over."

"Coffee sounds great." She looked around and sighed pulling out her phone. She had two and a half hours till her father came home. Two and a half hours till she got yelled at for a speeding ticket aswell. Oh well at least she didn't get caught racing. Her dad would be furious if he ever found out about her life as a racer.
