The salty water filled his mouth and nose when a surfer got awefully close to Brian, who had been swimming along the shoreline for thirty minutes. Coming up for air Brian pushed the board away from him and yelled at the surfer. "Watch where you're going, idiot!" "Same to you!" The girl gave him the finger, reached for her board and paddled away from Brian. Scowling the ex-cop turned around. He was supposed to meet Letty at the beach in 15 minutes. He'd have to run half of the way back. Totally out of breath he stumbled through the sand to his towel and let himself fall down and on his back to dry off. At least she wasn't here yet.

The beach was definitely one of the most favorite places for Letty. Something about the waves and the easy, steamy atmosphere allowed a peaceful spirit to land on her, which was unusual for her hot latina blood.
She was supposed to meet Brian here, and she assumed the others were going to join them as well but she didn't know for sure. All she knew was that she really needed a vacation, or some time off, just to take in everything and process the heavy pieces of information that were falling on her ever since she came back to L.A.
Spotting one familiar blond playboy made Letty smile a little instantly. Brian O'conner, and a lot of feminine curious eyes. "Sup, pretty boy?" she asked and lied right next to him, not caring for the send that was sticking all over her back and bikini.

Against the sun Brian spotted Letty when she walked through the sand towards him and damn did she ever look hot. Brian didn't recall ever seeing her in a bikini and briefly admired her flat belly and toned legs. "Hey, sexy." He grinned up at her before she dropped down in the sand. "Look at the guys checking you out!" He let his eyes wander around. "Good day to hang out at the beach- too damn hot to work."

"Haha, well same to you buddy! All the girls hate me now." she said and tapped on his shoulder.
Checking the view; she furrowed a little as the sun hit her eyes and quickly put on her aviator sunglasses. Everyone were having a good time, kids splashing out in the water, others licking and sucking the life off of some ice cream bar and a lot of almost naked bodies lying around just getting blistered. "We gotta work our tans, blondie." Letty suggested lightly, knowing sooner or later the conversation is bound to get serious - but she hoped not soon enough.

"Yup." He spread out his arms and let his head drop back. For a while he just enjoyed the heat of the sun drying the droplets of water from his skin. The sounds of children playing and waves rolling towards the beach hit his ears. "How have you been? Is LA treating you well? By the way. If you want to earn some cash- the garage needs a lot of people."

The relaxing sound of waves, children's laugh and the warming breeze created a perfect utopia. So serene and convenient that Letty could almost fall asleep without noticing.
"Yeah man. For sure. It's good to be back." she murmured and closed her eyes behind the protecting sunglasses. Brian's next offer took her a little by surprise, when he said she should join his new garage. It sounded like a good idea, since she missed working with cars and missed money even more. "Sounds good." she answered briefly, but then remembered things weren't that simple. "But I have to figure everything out first...you know...with Dom?" she added, realizing she couldn't go around making plans when her man was in such trouble.

Propping himself up on his elbows Brian squinted against the sun. "Yeah." He said in a low voice. He brushed the sand of one of his arms and continued even lower. "I had this idea the other day...actually Faye keeps bugging me whether there is any written statement about you and why you became an FBI informant. She thinks if there's written proof that you did it to get Dom off the hook and the FBI agreed his case can be rolled up again." Brian tried to see her eyes under the dark shades but couldn't see much of a reaction.

Frowning at Brian's words, Letty pursed her lips in hidden anger and shook her head no at once. "I can't believe you are actually considering this." she spat suddenly. "With all due respect, I probably encountered the law more than this lawyer did. And she doesn't know the feds." Letty said decisively. She wasn't going to try and get a deal with the FBI after the huge knife they put through her back.
"They left me there Brian. They fucking pissed all over this stupid, and by the way unwritten agreement." she declared, remembering how scared and wounded she was, all alone in Mexico, hiding from Braga.

The anger was understandable. It was a touchy subject and Brian was lucky if she would just spit him right between the eyes for even mentioning it. "I feel the same way. I know where you're coming from, girl." He remained quiet hoping Letty would come down and grabbed a fist full of sand and let it run through his spread out fingers. "She said she knows a judge with an unbiased opinion who would look whatever we have over and maybe overrule the previous one.

Letty couldn't understand, how even through all of Brian's experience with the FBI and cops in general - he was still tempted to negotiate with them. Letty wasn't going to change her mind so easily, she had lost faith.
Brian remained quiet for a moment, and Letty didn't speak either. Each one of them was thinking hard, deliberating about the best option they had. But didn't have any best option, they didn't even have a good option. "This is a huge risk, Brian. I mean, bringing the law into this? It can turn against us like that." she interpreted and snapped her thumb and middle finger together.

Brian watched her snapping her fingers and knew she was right. "Yep, it can, like it's done before. Unless we're smarter and the judge is one that gives a damn about an agreement." He rolled onto his back. "Let's just forget it." For a while he watched small clouds travel by and listened to the sound of the waves but the thought just wouldn't leave him alone. "It's just..." He balled his hand into a fist. "Those damn bastards risked your life and Doms to get Braga and we did. He's in prison. I can't beleive Dom's not a free man? You know what I mean?"

"Believe me, I know what you mean." Letty snorted in anger, she could easily relate to Brian's frustrated tone. They went out of their way to try and clean up the mess that was all over their names. She thought the operation would benefit both sides, but apparently the cops thought of their interest and their interests only. "I feel like I can see clear now." she said after a moment, closing her eyes behind the sunglasses.
Luckily, the shades were covering the disappointment in her eyes. She wasn't going to put her life in the hands of the cops once again. "I got a second chance to live Brian. And I'm sick of putting myself and everyone's asses on the line year after year."

"I hear you." He also let his head sink down and closed his eyes. "That's where I'm at as well. Getting stabbed and shot is enough for my taste. I don't need any more of that. And I think Mia's just getting over her Verone experience as well. We just want to live a normal life-with that extra bit of adrenalin when we race."
Turning his head to see her he added. "I just wish Dom could share what we have. He deserves it."

"The cops would always be on our tales if we keep up the racing." Letty said after a long moment of silence. Brian was just like them, an adrenaline junkie, that's why he flipped.
Sighing in desperation, she eyed the relaxing blond next to her and shook her head. "I don't know what's gonna happen Brian. We will always be like this, we aren't a standard, perfectly painted family portrait."

Brian had to laugh at that one. Nobody was further from perfect picture family portrait he was sure. "So you say, let it go?" He didn't really wait for a reply but got up. "The waves are pretty good today...bodysurfing?" He held out his hand for Letty to grab it.

"Definitely let it go." Letty answered confidently and shook her head.
"Hell yeah." she agreed and took Brian's hand, checking out the waves. The sea wasn't roaring, but the waves were good enough to surf. "You're gonna have to help me out though, haven't done it in a long time..." she said as she started to walk further towards the sea. "Didn't really have the time in Mexico," she laughed it off with a wink. There was no other choice but to laugh it off.

Together with Letty he waded into the ocean. The waves rolling in made it a little hard to get ahead and they had to jump over them. "Watch out." Brian called out but a bigger one knocked Letty of her feet. Brian dove under it and popped up on the other side.
When the reached the point where they were breaking he called over the noise. "Pick your direction kick really hard to catch it and then use your outstretched arm." He paddled next to her and watched for a good wave.

She could barely hear Brian's warning over the sound of a huge roaring, wave, heading straight towards her. And before she knew it she fell into the water as the wave shove her on her back. Pulling up as quick as possible while the surface already settled down, Letty started to process Brian's instructions. "Damn." she said and spit the water out.
Another wave was quickly moving forward, getting closer and closer, "Ready?" she challenged him with a huge smile and kept her eyes on the wave. Turning to aim her body in the right direction, Letty began to kick as soon as she felt the first contrast. Her legs kept pushing and pulling as she slowly began to use her arm as well.

"Ada girl!" Brian cheered as she challenged him before she even had all the water out of her mouth. That was Letty, strong a fearless. Brian saw her going for next big wave rooling towards them, turned towards the beach with a slight drift to the left and paddle as fast as he could to catch it. A second later every muscle in his body tensed up to transform his body into a full length human surfboard. The force of the ocean pushed him forward while water splashed all around him as he shot by Letty.

Feeling the wave slowly beginning to die out underneath her, Letty slowly put her legs down, trying to find the surface. "Weeeeee-ha!" she called out as her brunette head was bursting out of the water at once.
"Damn!!! That was fun. She shouted towards Brian who seemed to have taken a good wave.
