Hobbs cursed when he saw the accord continue on like nothing hit it. The remaining buildings were starting to block their aim of fire, and Hobbs called everyone off. He sent a radio message to dispatch. "High value suspect running in a white Honda Accord, get everything you can on it." After a few moments dispatch replied. "I'll try, but almost all of our pursuit units have been engaged in a high speed chase that just ended in a horrific accident, they may not be able to clear." Hobbs shook his head and threw his radio on the ground. Could this day get any worse?

What had he dragged Mia into? Bullets flying around them. How selfish could he be. If she got hurt Brian would never forgive himself. A bullett broke through the back windshield making her scream. That scream went through and through. Had she been shot? As soon as they were out of their range he scanned Mia. "Are you okay?" There was no trace of blood on her so he forced himself to breath normally and relax. "Holy shit." Brian noticed how his fingers were shaking and he was high on adrenline. "I don't know. Hang on. " Right then he remembered the message that had come in, pulled out his phone and gasped..."Oh shit, no! They got Cole and Mira, I think." He told Mia the location on the hill, that Cole had texted him.

Mira stuggled alittle to get her phone out of her pocket. Once it was out she dialed Brian's number. Tears started to fall as she prayed he was alright and able to answer. She needed to know at least he was safe... Cause Cole by the sounds of things wasn't a guilty about everything that happened. If Cole loved she would have to find awat to repay him. "Brian answer the phone please!" She begged as she watched Cole and the paramedics.

Brian breathed a sigh of relief when he heard that she was okay. They still had some cops on their tail but Mia was a good driver and could most likely use an unexperienced driver even in a rental car. Slipping further down in his seat when she sped off, cutting corners and running red lights, Brian buckled up just to be on the save side. Her style of driving kept him on the edge of his seat and the adrenalin pumping through his veins. A few times he was sure they'd crash but she manage to regain control and loose the cops in the process.
On their way up the mountain he finally started to relax and closed his eyes for a moment trying to figure out what just happened and what to do next. Cole had texted to come but right now Mia was pulling over. Even though he was barely able to walk after dropping three stories and had no weapon he still needed to try and help them. "Keep going, Mia! We have to find them before the cops do!" A moment later his phone rang again and when he answered it the distress in Mira's voice was obvious. "We're almost there, Mira. Hang in there!" Brian nervously let her know. "Tell me the situation!"

His phone rang and he quickly answered. The voice at the other end of the line was panicky. The name Mira came out of his lips again, but what surprised Mia the most was the way he was talking to this Mira person, he was nervous. So, she kept driving and at the same time she was focus on the road, but her attention was more on Brian, he was desperate too. She glanced at him (not forgetting she was behind the wheel) and tried to figure him out. What wasn’t he telling her? That look of guilt too was somehow there behind that nervousness.
“Brian…” she whispered his name as she tried to comprehend the ‘situation’ unfolding in front of her and she waited for him to finish the call, her eyes once again on the road.

Within a few minutes they arrived on top of the mountain and could only look down at the scene. Two helicopters and Cole's totally smashed car. Brian gasped when he saw it and was about to run down to them but held himself back. "Fuck!" If Mira or Cole were seriously injured he didn't know what to do. Mira-the baby. Was she alright. "Oh no!" He whispered when he limped closer to get a better look. That's when he spotted paramedics working on somebody. It wasn't Mira though as she was standing close by next to a man in uniform. She stood hunched over and was obviously in pain. Brian felt fear get a tight grip on him and his breathing got faster. The person on the ground had to be Cole. "I have to help them!" He studdered but had no idea how.
COPS/MEDICS
On the bottom of the hill the officer, who wasn't holding Mira noticed the white sedan that had stopped up on the hill and the two people looking down.
The medics had cut away the young mans shirt. His breathing was so shallow and quick that they tried to help him breath but with no success. His lung had collapsed due to the broken rib that had penetrated it and caused air to get into his ribcage. They had to insert a needle and through the chest wall to allow the air to escape so his lungs would unfold again. (Google-hooray) As soon as it was in place they loaded him into a helicopter, then tended to Mira. "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

Cole apparently was in some sureal state, he was out, but he felt the needle through his chest and also felt his breathing, or rather lack of breathing. Should he try to wake himself up? Just lie there? He had practically no strength to try to pull himself up, so he just laid there, in this strange varient of sleep, or whatever it was. He could faintly hear the medics around him, and also some constant air noise. The medics sounded concerned and rushed, he figured that probably wasn't a good thing, but it didn't really hit him that his life was actually in danger. As far as this air noise was concerned, it almost sounded like he was in a helicopter. "Good." He thought. "I'm going to a hospital." Brian's escape crossed his mind. He wondered if they would try the same for him, but it was unlikely, after all, the crash was technically his fault.

"We were in an accedent... Its not good..." Mira dropped her phone when she saw Brian appear on the ledge with some woman. She turned her attentio to the paramedic blood still runing down her face from the cut above her eye. "I've got the world's worse headache right now and I am pretty sure from the pain i get when breathing, I broke some ribs... Oh and if it makes a difference to how you are gonna treat me I'm two months preganent." she glance back up at Brian. So while they were running from the cops he was running around with some girl... Or so she thought.

She looked down at the car totally destroyed. Suddenly, Brian’s anger stop her from focusing at the smashed car, his face said it all, the people involved in this accident were important to him. She spotted a few paramedics desperately trying to save a guy’s life. Mia saw the procedure of taking the air out of the young man’s lung, and then her eyes fell on the blonde girl who seemed in pain too, but not as bad as the young man.
“Brian wait!” she tighten both of her hands around his arm. There are cops too, if they see you in this condition… No!” she refused to let him go any further but in this state he was in, she was afraid he wasn’t going to listen to her. “I can try to go down there and find out the hospital they’ll be transferred to, I don’t know I’ll make something up, I don’t care but is no safe for you to go down here.” She reminded him looking down at the blonde girl whose attention was now on her and Brian.

All Brian could feel right now was fear for Mira, their baby and Cole. He didn't care about what would happen to him. Then again Mia was right and what good would it do if he went down there. Then there was nobody left who wasn't in cuffs to proof their innocence. he had to stay up here. Swallowing against the lump in his throat he nodded. "Okay. Please find out how she is...she.." There was no use in hiding anything any longer. What for anyway? "Mira's pregnant. Make sure she's alright and whether Cole will be okay." Desperately he ran his hand through his hair. "What on earth happened? He's a good driver!" Suddenly he say Mira look up at him and held his breath. Should he scream down whether she was okay and attract attention?

As soon as Cole was inside the helicopter and intubated they asked Mira to sit inside and asked her whether she had trouble breating or any bleeding aside from the gash on her head, which the covered in gauze and told her to apply some pressure. One of the officers decided to accompany them and didn't take Miras handcuffs off despite the medics question. The doors of the helicopter closed behind them.

The girl was pregnant, she froze for a moment. It was not good, would the baby be ok? Did she loose the baby? She noticed he held his breath, could that baby be--? No, she was over thinking this, but then why was she feeling strange when she heard Brian telling her about Mira’s condition? “From what I saw Cole had a punctured lung, the whole sticking a needle to his chest was to remove the air that build up, but about Mira—Let’s go,” she couldn’t go any further to explain the hundred of possibilities she might be in right now, and with a baby it was complicated, she had to go to the hospital and see for herself how they were doing.
She stopped for a moment; she had to hear it from his lips. “About the baby… your baby?” her throat went dry, and her heartbeat picked up the pace. She felt stupid asking him, Cole couldn’t be the father, he was still a kid. She closed her hands into fists controlling the shaking that seemed to assault her at any moment.

To hear about Coles condition made his knees get weak. Brian had no idea what happened to them but he felt guilty. Plus he didn't understand why she dragged him away from the accident. "Why, what,..." Paranoid he simply babbled what was on his mind. "Could she loose the baby?" Behind her on the bottom of the hill the doors were closed behind Cole and Mira and the helicopter took off.
Mia did the same...simply ask what was on her mind and put him on the spot. For a long moment he stared at her and then took a deep breath. "Yes." Again his blue eyes were fixed on her face looking for her reaction. Would she be dissapointed, indifferent, happy? Had that been something Mia had wanted with him at some stage during their past realtionship?

He babbled something but she wasn’t hearing him. “By the look of the car, I mean I didn’t see any blood other than the cut on her head. Once we go to the hospital I’ll let you know,” her eyes were now on the helicopter taking off.
To hear him confessed he was the father of that baby made her heart crumble. She held the tears so damn well that her eyes didn’t show any sign of it or her voice. She smiled a little, happy because he was going to be a father, but on the inside she was dying. Having a child, something she always wanted and especially with him, but now he was slipping away from her fingers like water.
He might be the same Brian from her past, but he was no longer hers. “Come on. I have to take care of those injuries first, and then we’ll go to the hospital” her voice not showing a sign of sadness. Sweat beads covered her forehead, she needed a shower, but most importantly she needed some alone time.

There wasn't a sign of dissapointment or any sort of emotion in her voice or face. Maybe a tiny little flinch...if he interpreted her face right. It was strange that Mia was so indifferent about it or was she just keeping her feelings under wraps? Brian himself felt a sudden stab. He had never thought about it but telling Mia that he was having a child with somebody else hurt him. Why had she pushed him away? Maybe it would be her then? Wearing his emotions on his sleeve for a change he brushed past her not exactly sure who he was angry or dissapointed at...or was it the fear for Mira that messed with him. "Let's go." He muttered before he sank into the passenger seat and let his head fall against the head rest.
The winding road led back down towards the city. At a turn off Brian noticed that Mia had taken a different turn than before that took them to a small cabin up in the hills that seemed unoccupied.

Mira held her onto the edge of her pants her knuckles turning white. Hights were not something she was at all comfertable with. They scared the shit out of her. But she wasnt in any shape to pitch a fit about it. As werid as it sounded right now she wanted her dad. To explained what was happened and to talk to him. Her mind moved from her dad to Brian. Was he alright? And who the hell was that woman?

He stopped her for a moment but she didn’t say a thing to him. She was falling apart inside and the only way to not let herself give in to the sadness that overwhelmed her in that moment was to keep cleaning his wounds. What could she say to him? He was sorry? For what? She rolled up his jeans and cleaned the last wound on his shin, taking a deep breath, she stood up. “I need to take a shower and then we’ll go to the hospital,” She closed her suitcase and took it with her to the bathroom not giving a chance to Brian to say a thing.
She stepped in the bathroom locking the door behind her, removed her clothes and got in the shower. The water hit her body, and she couldn’t pretend anymore, she covered her mouth, tears streaming down her face. She never thought something like that would happen. “Why Brian? Why?” she thought as her body slid down to the floor, the water kept hitting the top of her head, but she didn’t seem to care at the moment. The water was cold but that wasn’t the reason her body was shaking. Finally, the silent sobs subsided but that didn’t stop the tears from falling.

On their way down the mountain Brian was with Mira and Cole in his thoughts until Mia stopped the rental car. He got out and suddenly realized, now that the adrenalin was wearing off, how much his legs actually hurt from dropping into the trash cans. He appreciated Mias help but felt pretty awkward at the same time. "Is it a good idea to break into this place? I don't want to add any more felonies to my list." But Mia was already inside so he followed her and sat down.
He endured the cleaning of the tears on his knuckles with little flinching but watch her closely. While she was returning to the car he wondered whether he should adress what was on his mind. With the pills in his hand he looked down at the blood stain on his jeans. "No, no snap. I think I just scratched my shin open when I dropped onto the edge of one of those trash cans." He took a deep breath and held her hand to stop for a moment. "Wait a second, Mia. I...I'm sorry. " But what was he sorry for? He wasn't sure how to word what he felt. "This wasn't planned. I mean the baby just happened." As if he needed to explain himself he added. "I'm happy about it though."

It was hard to not get a reply whatsoever. For some reason it made him feel guilty. Dumbstruck and confused by his own mixed emotions he sat there and stared ahead. Why would she not say anything? When Mia hurried off to the shower, right now of all times, he knew something was off. "Are you okay?" He shouted after her but didn't get an answer yet again. So He rolled down the bottom of his pants and stood up. Instead of following her he stepped outside where he could see the lights of the city in the distance.
After a while of calming down he went upstairs where the shower was still on but when he arrived in front of the door he froze. Mia was sobbing behind it. Without thinking he opened the door and found her naked under the cold shower on the floor. "Mia." Brian turned off the water, then quickly grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her, his hands never leaving her shaking frame. He enclosed her in his arms. "Why are you crying?"
