After the aweful clash with Mira Brian needed air. On his way out he let his gaze wander around the long hallways of the busy hospital but couldn't see Mia anywhere who probably couldn't handle seeing him with Mira. For now Brian just needed to get out and stepped into he elevator where he could close his eyes for just one moment and try to figure out what had just happened. He was still to worked up to get any clear thoughts so when the doors opened with a bing he stepped out and towards the exit as fast as he could. Outside the last rays of sunshine were greeting him in the parking lot. A small park was nestled next to it. There Brian sat down on a bench and put his head in his hands for a while just to calm down. Slowly the sounds of people talking, cars arriving and leaving and the odd siren were drowned out and when he opened his eyes again most other people were gone.

It felt like she was walking for hours but for some reason she didn't feel tired. She rubbed her hands wondering about Brian and Mira, wondering if Brian was alright after the tall man decided to chase him. Did he go back with Mira once the chasing was over? Most importantly was Brian injured? Safe? She had to find out but stopped as she saw Brian on a bench, his hands covering his face. Something was wrong. Finally she was next to Brian, her hand rubbing his shoulder. “Brian,” she called his name softly. Her eyes looking for new injuries.

Her voice tore him out of his thoughts and he look up at her with red rimmed eyes, not from crying but from rubbing and lack of sleep and whatever else. "Mia." A weak smile crossed his lips. Then he sighed and let his head fall again. "Where did you go?" He wondered when he didn't know what else to say. In reality he wanted to know whether she was upset or angry.

“I had to walk… a little,” she answered him. Her eyebrows drew together placing her cool hand on his forehead. She was afraid to ask about Mira, would he explode? What really happen inside the hospital to have him like that? She took a deep breath and sat down next to him letting her hand feel the softness of his blonde hair between her fingers. She stopped what she was doing looking really closely at her ex. “Brian, you have to sleep,”

Her touch felt soothing after what had happened but it felt also wrong. So he simply nodded. "Yeah, I do." For a moment he still sat there and looked at her. "I'm really sorry that I'm dragging you into this mess. You know it's not to late to leave." Mia should probably safe herself despite her good samaritan habits.

Could he really send her away? Should she leave now? Will she leave? “Don’t be. I agreed to help you. But to be honest you’re still on the run and with all this crap that’s been happening the last thing I can do is leave,” He was right it was not too late for her to go home, but she hoped he understood it was not going to be that simple to send her to the States.
Could that be her cue to disappear from his life once again like she did with him and never know how he was? Or like the mess he was in right now, what if he needed help again? If she went away and if he found himself in another situation… Could she really come back to help him even if he contacted her or her brother? If she left will he regret his words and stop her? No, he wouldn’t do that. He had a family now waiting for him inside the hospital.

"Hm." Brian sighed but accepted her decision. If he knew one thing then it was that you can't change a Torettos mind for them. For a moment he just sat there leaning his shoulder against hers, then he asked. "Do you want to get out of here? I really need some sleep...and you might as well." For now Mia was the only friend he had left since both of the people he trusted were bound to hospital beds and angry at him. On top of that Brian didn't have a car or money to pay for a room.

She had to smile when she heard his “Hmm..” it wasn’t easy to get rid of a Toretto. She nodded and yawned. She covered her mouth with her right hand and rubbed her eyes that were starting to feel heavy. “Yes. I need to sleep too,” Good thing was that she had some money in her pockets. Would it be enough for the two? Only one way to find out… she stood up from the bench. “Come on,” she said waiting for Brian to stand up.

Brian got up and nodded. "Yeah." Then he followed her across the parking lot to her car. Brian couldn't help but look across his shoulder back up at the floor where Mira was. Was she doing alright? Was he being to hard on her? Why did she have to say what she did? Then he got into the car and yawned.
At the hotel reception he told Mia she didn't have to get an extra room for him since he was broke. "I'll simply stay on the sofa or chair or whatever they have. I'm so tired I can sleep anywhere."

Once they were in the car and she started driving her arms felt heavy same as her eyes. She was more than happy when they arrived to the hotel. She got out of the car followed by Brian.
She heard what he said; she was so damn tired too she didn’t even know if she was going to make it to the room she might as well sleep on the cool floor of the hotel reception.
When the person finally gave them the key she quickly took it. “Thanks,” and when she opened the door of the room she yawned again and went straight to bed. Giving in to her exhaustion she fell asleep.

It was more than obvious that Mia was dead tired. Who knew how longs she hadn't slept. For a moment Brian stood in the middle of the hotel room and looked at her curled up figure on the bed. He contemplated sneaking into the French bed with her just like they used to but decided that it was more appropriate to sleep on the pull out sofa even though it was too short for him. With a long yawn he pulled off his shirt and jeans and laid down in his boxers. A light sheet serving as blanket. For a moment he felt his sore limbs and the scratches from the trash can but was soon out like a light.

She didn’t know why she woke up in the middle of the night, maybe because she felt like she slept a lot. She sat down on the bed trying to see in the dark. She started to walk to the restroom, the room felt hot. Was she getting sick? She panicked a little and placed her hand on her forehead, it felt warmer than usual.
Determined to walk to the bathroom she almost fell as she walked over something soft, she bent down and picked it up. She looked down as she heard Brian’s breathing pattern, trying her best to cover his body (in the darkness)with the thin sheet that seconds ago was on the floor. Once she covered his body she entered the bathroom washing her face hoping to remove how she was feeling. Turning the light off the small bathroom she went back to bed falling asleep once her head touched the pillow.

Her light touch woke him out of a dreamless sleep. At first his troubles with mira, the accident, his friends life in danger, all these things had kept his mind going a mile a minute so he couldn't sleep. Then the air conditioning woke him up and now Mia. Tired he groaned and sat up. For a while he sat there and rubbed his face. Then he pulled his shirt off and walked into the bathroom to pee. When he came back out his gaze fell on Mia. "Are you asleep?"

She had trouble going back to sleep because she felt like crap. Damn flu making her head feel so heavy with each movement she made, her whole body was killing her. She took a moment in the darkness to try to remember if she had some medicine to stop the flu to get to her. The air conditioner was on and the room was colder, making her cover her body as she shook a little sneezing and then Brian ask if she was asleep. "I was three hours ago," she said back to him as she wrapped her body using the thin sheet that covered the bed she was at the moment.

Slowly he padded over to her and sat on the edge of her bed "Why didn't you tell me three hours ago- we could have played cards." The way she was breathing alittle heavier than usual and the colour of her skin in the dim light of the lamp told Brian something was off. He knew Mia too well to not notice. Softly he asked. "You're not feeling good, are you?"

"I feel like crap," she stood up and search in her personal items, she might have some medicine available. She groaned as she realized there was nothing she could take to stop how she was feeling. "Oh well..." she began to say. She tried to control her breathing. "I'll find something, don't worry about it. So, ready to play cards?"

That's why she looked so under the weather. Her eyes were half shut when she was talking to him. In regards to the card Brian simply smiled. "Left them in Miami." His hand carefully reached for her forehead, which felt clearly warm. "You're hot...in every sense of the word." He got up and walked to grab his hoodie. From the pocket he pulled a small bottle of Ibuprofen. "There, I got shot a while ago. I don't need those any more. Take one." He tossed it to her, then went to the bathroom to get Mia a glass of water before he sat back down next to her.

His hand felt cold on her forehead making her shiver a little. He then gave her a glass of water and she took it with shaky hands as she placed the small pill in her mouth and drank the water. "Thanks," she gave him the empty glass and with a childish pout said "I really wanted to play cards and kick your butt," she said giggling.

For a moment he left his hand linger on her soft skin looking at her beautiful face until he noticed that this moment was getting a little too long without being uncomfortable. "So card, eh?" He squeezed her hand and got up roaming through the small drawers of the night side table and then mini bar. "No card but I found some drink. Booz kills germs, doesn't it?" He came back with two mini bottles of vodka and sat back down next to her. His shoulder was touching hers. "It feels strange to sit here ...on a bed...with you."

'Yes, it does feels strange..." she simply said. She moved away from him just a little to avoid contact of his shoulder touching hers. Suddenly, the mini bottles of Vodka seemed tempting. "Might kill your gems, I like my germs," a way for her to fight, to avoid any contact with the brownish liquid inside the mini bottles.
