Hobbs halted his truck once he spotted the two men face to face, he could sense that there was some serious tension between the two. He made his way towards them and before either of them could say anything, or hardly even know he was there, his commanding voice took over the area. "You mind telling me who your friend is, O'Conner? And what the hell was going on in that call?"

"Just the ghost of christmas past, havn't talked to Brian here in a while." Walter turned and reached his hand out slowly. "Friends call me Joker," He smiled lightly and relaxed, "I'm here on vacation, can I assume you were on the phone here during our misunderstanding?" His air was completely relaxed as if he didn't have a care in the world as he examined the man. He had a few pounds on him and it was stacked muscle, he would have to move fast if things heated up.

Hobbs crossed his arms instead of taking Joker's hand. "Joker, huh? And what does your birth certificate call you?" Hobbs didn't like the man's attitude. He seemed too calm, too relaxed, almost as if he was anticipating this very moment, and practiced for it. Hobbs ignored Joker's comment about the phone call and looked towards Brian. "I want a damn good explaination as to what the hell I was hearing a few minutes ago."

Brian figured the call alone should explain things. Especially since Hobbs had let him go to find this man. Fidgeting he tried to figure out whether he should simply tell Hobbs to arrest 'Joker' or to believe the guy who had ruined his life and lie. "Er, yeah that was a misunderstanding." He lied through his teeth. "We do this stuff sometimes- who would have thought we'd bump into each other here?" brian wasn't sure what he was doing since he was practically buying a one way ticket to jail. Then his eyes narrowed. "What are you charging me with?" Maybe Joker was right and none of the charges stuck.

Hobbs narrowed his eyes and frowned, that wasn't the explanation he was looking for. "You think I'm stupid enough to disclose your status infront of strangers to the department?" He motioned to Walter. "I will tell you that you're still in deep shit, and I suggest you stop playing games with me. I know what I heard on my phone and I know who was on the other end." Hobbs was very impatient at this point.

"I'm a liason officer for Internal Affairs departmented with the FBI, Brian and I have had a few run ins after his mistake in letting Dominic Torretto go." Walter acted quickly sensing the bullshit meter about to break in the man. "I had a hand in his job in Florida as well. It would seem a number of dirty cops in the department have been on payroll for several men that would like Mr. O'conner dead or behind bars where they could dispense there own justice. I would love to hear how you would explain denying this man the right to hear the charges set against him, because" he paused for a moment and stared Hobbs strait in the eyes. "That would suspicious activity worthy of an internal investigation into your life and any misgivings you may have had in your past...no man is perfect now are we?" He allowed his full smile fall into a smirk. At the very least he would give the man something to think about, agents put into under cover jobs rarely had credentials on them and handlers tended to lose contact with men during operations like this. Walter had backup upon backup for anything the large man could pull.

Brian listened to Walters rambling with disbelief in his eyes. Where did this man pull all this bullshit from this quickly? If he didn't know any better he'd believe it himself. At a loss of words he turned to look at Hobbs. Maybe Walter was right, maybe some or all charges had been dropped. "Yeah, that's actually a good question. What are the charges against me? Cause I have done nothing but my job and here I am running from the law like some criminal."

Hobbs glared at Joker, hardly believing a word of his. "Very well, I'm sure you wouldn't have a problem identifying yourself." He was beginning to think that this was all some kind of setup against him to misguide him. "I've been in this business long enough, ID yourself and I'll be more than happy to share his charges." He turned to Brian. "As for you O'Conner, you're bullshitting me harder than a bull taking a shit. If you're so innocent, then why the hell did you run to Tokyo, not to mention that ridiculous car chase. Seems pretty overboard for a man so innocent." He looked Brian in the eyes.

"I was on that ship and saw all the bodies, I got arrest and Mira told me I'm being charged with assault, theft and drug dealing. Whoever framed me did a damned good job and I wasn't going to sit in a hospital and wait to become some big inmates new girlfriend." he glared back at Hobbs. This was the truth and even though Brian on vaguely remembered that dreadful night he knew he didn't shoot 5 people. "I'm not going to jail for something I didn't do. Of course I'm going to run if you try to put me behind bars while the real criminal is still walking around free." Inadvertendly his eyes wandered to Walter as he was this close to spilling the beans. It was now or never.

"Walter Kavanagh. That's Kavanagh with a K." He stated, he knew his name would pop on a report or two but the information would be classified. The rarity he was used with the FBI and police departments was even more rare then having an I.A. come down. After pulling Letty out of the fire he would pop up for at least two or three other dirty jobs the feds would hate to tell the truth about. "Careful though, you might piss someone off." He smiled knowing now that he had just bought Brian some time as well.

"So running is freedom to you then, huh?" Hobbs was just barely starting to believe parts of Brian's story, some of it did make sense. Even if what Brian was claiming was true though, then who was the genius behind this thing? And why wasn't Brian giving Hobbs more names? "So you say you were framed, but you have no idea who it was?" Hobbs turned to Walter, who provided a different type of ID than Hobbs was looking for, but still usable. "Both of you stay here." He trotted back to his truck to run the the name, half expecting the two to suddenly bolt off.
OOC: I might remember Brian telling Hobbs that a guy named Walter framed him...but I couldnt find it in the posts I looked threw, my apologies if he did.

Brian was udderly confused by Walters actions. Why wasn't he running and why did he want brian to trust him. He was a thief and murderer and Brian on the Wanted list because of him. He watched Hobbs walk away and turned to the man next to him. "What the hell are you giving him your real name for? He's going to bust your ass. I gave them your name when they caught me." His gaze wandered over to Hobbs who was leaning against the door of his car and talking to somebody on his radio with one eye out for both men. He was really hoping that Hobbs would put two and two together quickly and arrest Walter so brian could finally walk away from it all. He was still toying with the idea of pulling the trigger on the man himself. His finger was curling around the butt of his gun behind his back just to be ready for whatever was going to come even though this place was too public with children and joggers.

"I used to work for a company that hired out people like me to whoever had the most money. Sometimes it was feds, sometimes it was mobsters. This car job was important to both sides. The FBI wanted me to stop it and find out who was the man in charge. The old man that I killed on the boat was a Federal Marshall that went crooked a few years back. The man that was dead on the ground was another operative sent to kill me and him...The feds didn't want anyone to know what had happened in case it leaked to the media." Walter took a deep breath. "More then likely Big Boss is probably going to pull a kill order on me. I'm oddly fine with that, I just wanted to make sure you knew the truth. I made the mistake of pulling you into this job, the cars are gone now and I doubt you'll find most of them. If you want your freedom back you're going to have to figure out where these charges are coming from and who is setting then up...chances are they are going to send a cleaner to come after you regardless."

His story makes sense and for some reason Brian was starting to buy into it. He knitted his brow as he listened to Walter. "Give me the name of you're 'big boss'. That's all I want."
His gaze shifted to Hobbs who kept his eyes trained on him and Walter from his position at the car. Silently Brian wondered if Hobbs would know about this or even be the one who got hired to 'clean up'. he kind of looked the type. "I'll ask his daughter how trustworthy this agent is."
Then he straightened up and raised his chin. "Now listen, if you want me to believe you you'll do something for me. You got me into this mess...you get me out of it! Talk to the guy and tell him what you did!"

Hobbs attempt to run Walters name through the system was proving to be very difficult. The name was coming up, but reports associated with the name were classified, and oddly only certain individuals were allowed access. Hobbs apparently was not one of them. He then tried the radio to speak to someone who may know what the deal was. "Yes, I have several links to Walter Kavanagh, but all are inaccessible." The officer on the other end of the radio explained to Hobbs. "You mean to tell me that everything this fool has put his hands in is locked away? Don't you think that's reason for suspicion?!" Hobbs barked at the radio. Either Walter was some sort of secret "Men in Black" style agent or there were some inside jobs going on that very few know about. "Hang on." The officer replied. "It does say here that a former officer, and now fugitive, named Brian O'Conner referenced a Walter Kavanagh as the person responsible in an attempt to frame him into looking responsible for Kavanagh's actions, this was recent too." Finally Hobbs got the answer he was looking for. So that's why Brian called him here, this was the man in question. "Alright, thats all." Hobbs threw his radio back in the truck and marched back over to the men. "Would've been a hell of a lot easier if you would've talked, O'Conner. So you say this man is the one responsible for your mess?" He pointed to Joker.

Damn, now that Brian was finally starting to think Walter could be useful Hobbs put two and two together. Brian opened his mouth but didn't know what to say...of course he was the one responsible but then again maybe Hobbs had been sent to get rid of Brian, not just lock him up once he found the missing link.
What should he say...Hobbs knew anyway who Walter was so he opted for the worst possible decision. He told Walter. "Run." and turned on his heels sprinting away in the opposite direction. If Walter was right he had just saved him from a bullet between the eyes, if he was just telling him a story or Hobbs had nothing to do with any secret doings of the police force Brian would look like the biggest idiot on earth and probably end up with a bullet between his shoulder blades.

Just when Hobbs thought he had a lead in the case, it all went to hell...again. Seeing the men dart off in opposite directions, Hobbs made a quick decision to chase Brian. He believed now that these two were partners, and Brian's accusations were accurate. Catch him, and the other will follow. Hobbs caught Brian to the point where he was right on his heels, he was ready for any trick that Brian could pull, determined that he would not be fooled by any of his tricks.

Why was Hobbs going after him. If anything he should be going after Walter unless he thought Brian was trying to fool him. His thoughts whirled around in his head like a doll in the washing machine. Should he run, try to fight or simply... Brian stopped dead in his tracks and almost collided with Hobbs who was right on his heels. Pushing both hands against the man's chest to keep him at a distance he shouted. "What the fuck are you doing? Go after kavanagh."

Hobbs used his shear mass to toss Brian to the ground and pin him on his stomach. "That would've been a much easier decision if there wasn't some funny business between you two." Hobbs managed in between breaths. He tried not to show it, but he was confused beyond hell why Brian would suddenly bolt when he seemingly had Walter exposed. "That was your last chance, O'Conner. I'm done putting up with your bullshit." Hobbs barked and reached for his handcoffs.

Brian's bones nearly got crushed under Hobbs weight when he tackled him and threw him onto the ground. The man had to weigh twice as much as Brian all being pure muscle mass. With his face pressed to the gravel of the park path he could barely suck in a breath.
The ex-cop had no idea why he had run in the first place. Must have been pure instinct but now he felt trapped and was worried that every decision up to now had been a series of terrible mistakes. Despite knowing better he tried to struggle out of the agents grip but there was no going anywhere under his enormous weight. A body like that could definetly come in handy in a profession like theirs...his. Brian had to remind himself that he was no longer on that side of the law...on the contrary.
A moment later he felt the cold stell of handcuffs close around his wrists behind his back. His only chance was for Hobbs to turn his attention to Walter. "You got the wrong guy....follow Kavanagh! He's the one who set me up, dumb ass!" His temper flared up. Wh didn't the guy get the hint in the first place.
