She quirked her brow, how about racing some of the less seasoned racers before taking on ones that have been racing their whole lives" Mia suggested. "After you go one or two rounds with some of the others and win I'll race you." she said smiling. She wanted to test him out to see how he did, but she also didn't want to beat him so he wouldn't come back. She was sure she'd done so to Malibu barbie when she won the car off her. Which was going to need a new paint job and some upgrades, she wasn't keeping it the same puke pink that that girl had it.

"Less seasoned?" He chuckled. "If only you knew." Things like these annoyed the hell out of Cole. He was a champion on the semi-pro circuit when he raced 'legally', yet he continually had to prove himself to street racers before he would get a shot at anyone else. He had gone far enough in L.A where everybody knew who he was over there, but in Miami, well it looked like he was going to have to start all over again.
He noticed a relatively short individual standing by a white and red RX-8 in the staging area, calling people out. Cole fired up his evo and pulled alongside the RX-8. The apparent owner of the car walked over to him. "Who are you?" he asked. "A guy you'll hate in a second." Cole replied. He was feeling confident on this, he knew RX-8's with their rotary engines had a hard time pushing anything above 400 hp, which was way short of his evo's capabilities. The RX-8 owner didn't like his response. "Oh yea punk? We'll see how you feel when I take that sleek ride of yours." he said demanding the slip. "Seriously?" Cole couldnt believe this guy was about to race him for pinks. "Alright then." He handed over the slip to his car to the race director and the RX-8 owner did the same. Both of them lined up at the start line. The RX-8 owner revved his engine to intimidate, Cole revved his engine to spool the turbos and prepare for a launch. The starters arms went down and he slipped the clutch a little and then dropped it, to avoiding bogging or destroying the transmission. The awd evo bolted off the line a good two car-lengths infront of the RX-8. 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear he went through, noticing the RX-8 getting smaller in his mirror. "Told you you'd hate me." Cole smiled as he crossed the finish line. "Bet that sent a message."

Mia smiled She knew that if she'd said what she said he'd go after the RX Driver, Now he wasn't a part of the Racers anymore, Just a Bystander. She walked up to the Evo and Cole and smiled. "Nice race, Dom warned me about you before he left LA, I see he was right in worryin." She said and smiled. She saw the former RX Owner throwing a shit fit, and heard a few accusations, Mia rolled her eyes. "So, Sorry bout what I said earlier," She said.

Cole could hardly believe what he just heard. "Dom? As in the Dominic Toretto? How do you know him?" He asked. He was happy to hear that Dom considered him a threat, he didn't even know Dom knew him that well, they never raced each other. All he knew about Dom was that he was the undisputed king of the streets, wherever he went. Cole then realized that he hadn't seen or heard of Dom in quite a while. Out of curiousity he asked, "Where is he anyway?"

"Dominic's my big brother, he's in jail for now, but hopefully he'll be out soon." She said nodding at Cole, Hopefully she wouldn't just go back to being Dom's annoying little sister, She earned her place in the Racing world and she wanted to keep it. She leaned on her car and smiled at him. "So, in a bit, You want to Drive down to a Garage so we can get our new cars upgraded?" She asked him.

"You're Dom's sister?" He suddenly felt honored to be in the presence of a member of the respected Toretto family. It didn't surprise him that Dom was in jail, it did surprise him that the cops managed to catch up to him, unless one of his own crew played a role.
He looked over at his new RX-8, deciding if it was worth putting money into or even keeping for that matter. He didn't particularly like RX-8's, mainly because their performance tuning capabilities are limited. He was really after an NSX or R33 GTR, but both of those were beyond his wallet. He walked back over to his favorite car. "Honestly that car requires some serious money to bring to a level that I'd drive, same with your new pink roller box." He joked with the Toretto. "However, my evo needs a new set of brake pads, so we can head down there in a bit." Remembering that he never fully introduced himself, he said. "By the way, the name's Cole Peyton, as you apparently know from Dom." He reached out to shake hands.

Mia smiled and shook his hand strongly, "One more Race, You against me, But this'll be for fun." Mia said smiling. She looked at her baby and smiled, Happy that she'd brought it all the way from LA. She saw more people looking at her Car and she rolled her eyes and scanned the crowd and caught a glimpse of someone she knew, Then shook her head to clear it, She knew Letty was dead, But if she was why did she see her here, Why wasn't she in Racer Heaven? She knew she wqs going to have to ask Brian about it later on.

"One race for a winners certificate? Let's do it." He grinned, wanting to see how much of a driver she really was, he asked."You want to do a drag or get creative and do a circuit race?" He wasn't sure if people around here knew what a circuit race was, but if not maybe he could introduce something from L.A. In his mind, Circuit racing was the true test of a driver.

She nodded and drove to the track and told Tej what they were doing, She smiled when she saw him nod and looked at the crowd knowing that they were wondering what she was doing, She focused on her Competitor then on the track, She knew what a Circuit Race was because her Father and Brother used to race on a track until her father had his accident and her brother was banned from the track for life. She wondered what it would be like to race proffessionally, she knew she'd have to Ask Cole about trying to get into a professional race later on. She looked back at the Track.

Noticing how seriously Mia was studying the track ahead, Cole was impressed. She took these things seriously and knew what that meant. He rolled his car up to the start line and asked Tej. "So did she say drag or circuit?" He asked, hoping it would be circuit. "Circuit, around those industrial buildings and back." Tej pointed. "Perfect." He smiled and looked over at his rival. "Good luck." He grinned.

Mia smiled and revved her Engine, Then at the signal took off, The sound of her Engine was the only one she heard, The only thing she felt was the vibrating of the engine. She raced down to the building and instead of taking a sharp turn she drifted around the corners, She looked in the rearview and saw that Cole was quickly catching up. She shifted and continued on, noting that he kept getting closer. She kept going.

"Girl can launch!" Cole exclaimed as the skyline pulled him a car length off the line. He trailed Mia and noticed her drift a little too wide, he took a tight late apex and was rewarded with speed off the corner, allowing him to pull even. Realizing he was on the outside for the next corner, he threw the car in a little faster than normal and lightly tugged the handbrake while downshifting to 2nd, causing the backend to step out ever so slightly. He dipped the clutch on the exit to maintain boost and as a result pulled a fender ahead of the rival skyline. However, he hardly noticed, he was already visualizing the last corner.

Mia saw him ahead of her and Drifted around the next corner and shot foreward in an attempt to overtake him. She sped up to his bumper and tried to pass him, Shifting into a higher gear and gaining more speed she came even with the Evo. She continued to focus on the road ahead of her, speeding up when needed. She didn't want to waste gas by revving up or Stopping quickly. It wouldn't do her car much good at all.

"Note to self, change camshafts next time at the shop." Cole told himself frusturated that Mia's skyline was even with him. Nevertheless, there was a job to do. He took note of Mia's drifting habit and knew he would be able to get the launch out of the last corner and to the finish if he could apex it correctly. He took a conservative approach into the last corner and let Mia's skyline outbreak him slightly. He now had the advantage through the center, getting back to throttle earlier and carry a little more speed to edge the skyline through the exit. The finish was just up ahead, he knew the race was his if he just got through the gears.

Mia turned the next corner tightly foregoing the usual drifting, She raced alongside Cole's Evo. Knowing that he was thinking that something wrong with his car, She knew he wouldn't think of her Upgrading her car so it only looked like a Skyline. She looked down at her Spedometer and saw that she had plenty of speed left, then she looked at her Gas Meter and found that she'd be fine finishing theis race then racing home if she needed to but if she did, she'd have to fill up tomorrow.

Hitting 4th gear smoothly, Cole managed to cross the line half a car length infront. However, he was quite impressed by the fight put up by his rival, that was by no means one of his easier wins. He brought his car back to the lot and waited for Mia to pull up beside him.

Mia pulled up beside Cole and put her car in park then climbed out of the car. She looked around at the crowd then at Cole and smiled walking over to him. "Good Race" She said as she held out her hand for him to shake. She was a good sport and she knew that she may have lost this time, but she'd try again and win Next time. "I heard you race cars for as living, you think I could try out and race for your people?" She asked.

Brian had been so consumed by trying to find Walter and find out whether he was or maybe knew the shooter that he almost missed Mia racing. When he caught a glimpse of her pink skyline heading in from the last race he couldn't help but wonder whether she won and who she raced against. Judging by the look on the blonde guys face, who climbed out of the other car, he won. Mia still had a smile on her beautiful face though. She'd always been a good sport.
Brian pushed through the crowd and when he saw the guy up close he seemed familiar. "Hey, congratulations. She's hard to beat." Brian knew that Mia had put in some serious street time and gained more experience so she could put most guys in their place. "Do I know you from somewhere?" He shot a quick side glance at Mia.

"Hey Brian, this is Cole, He used to Race in LA, though he's never gone up against my brother or hs crew, He's also popular on the Professional Race Track." Mia said smiling at the two men. She looked around at the crowd and stood there watchin the two men to see how they handled each other. Then she heard barking. She looked around and saw a Pitt Bull run up to them. She was Black with a white patch on her chest. "Hey Shadow girl, What're you doing out?" She asked her dog. Shadow walked up to Mia and stood beside her, wagging her tail. Mia smiled.

As he always was, Cole was as peppy as usual after his win. He shook Mia's hand as a seeminly familiar face approached him and congratulated him. After Mia introduced him, he nodded at Brian. "It seems I've seen you before. Were you ever in LA?" Cole thought he looked much like the famed Brian O'Conner he had taken note of in LA. He never met or raced Brian, but he watched him race and likewise assumed Brian may have taken note of him, with the success he had. Cole tried to stay away from him in the past, word had it he was a cop, and he wanted NOTHING to do with cops. But no worry, there was no way this guy could be him, Miami is on the other side of the continent.
Then the words Mia said hit him. "She just called him Brian." He thought to himself. He decided to bit the bullet. "Are you Brian O'Conner?"
