Mia opened the door, laughing at something Jack said over her shoulder. The two O'Conners were still stumbling up the steps, one completely stoned out of his mind, the other trying to help his little brother up. Before she flipped on the light, she could hear the dogs in the backyard, barking and playing around.
Mia flipped on the light and gawked at the completely torn up living room. Her hand flew to her mouth and she gasped, looking from one broken piece of furniture to another. All Mia could think about was that the two had been robbed. "Jesus Christ, Brian, what happened?!"

Brian dragged Jack over to the couch, which proofed to be quite the task since his brother was over 6 feet tall and giggling like a school girl. He pushed him onto the couch after he threw some of the things that Angel had placed there off it. "Phew, no pizza for you! You're heavy."
Then he leaned against a cabinet and looked around at the mess. Some things were broken, most of it just thrown over. Suddenly the events of the night became very vivid in his memory. It had only been a few hours since Angel had paid them his visit and even less since they've fought 4 gang members. Brian stared at his belongings and mumbled. "One of the gang members paid us a visit." Before Mia could get angry again he added. "And beleive me...it was good that we followed his order. That son of a bitch is has no conscience."
Exhausted and sore Brian mumbled. "I'll go take a shower."

"You calling me fat.." It came out more as a half assed mumble than anything else. The couch was comfy and Jack was more than exhausted now that he was passing the 'high as a kite' stage. With his eyelids getting heavy, he closed his eyes for a second. Atleast that was what he was planning on doing. If they were getting pizza.. well, he was definitely a fan of that and wouldn't want to miss it. However, as soon as his eyelids were shut he was completely knocked out and off to happy dreams land. So much for him and getting pizza.

Mia watched Brian walk away to the shower and Jack snooze off with a smile, before taking in the room again. Everything was disturbed in one fashion or the other. Stuff was broken, destroyed completely. She couldn't imagine who had done something like this...
But Brian had said it was the gang. She shivered at the thought of someone like that being out there. What if they had paid her a visit trying to get to Dom? He must have used some force if her cop boyfriend had felt like he needed to help the gang member. She shook her head and tried to clean up a bit, praying that she never met the "son of a bitch" that Brian referred to.
(( lol, btw. Mia not knowing it was Angel is just funny... ))

While Mia was taking care of the living room Brian went into his bathroom to take care of himself. He figured he needed a moment to unwind. So he dropped his dirty clothes on the bathroom floor. A quick glance in the mirror reveleiled that he looked just as bad as he felt. With a sigh he turned on the warm water and stepped into the shower. At first the water stung like hell at all the little cuts and scrapes but then it washed over him nice and warm. He let his head hang and simply relaxed under the comforting flow forgetting about the nights events for a bit. Brian even found himself picturing Mia taking a shower with him.
After 10 minutes he stepped outside feeling cleaner, more awake and slightly better than before. With a towel around his waist he made his way into the bedroom to find some clean clothes. Shorts would do.

After Mia had straightened up a bit, she thought about waking Jack. It wasn't a good idea that he sleep with the medicine still in his system, but he did look completely drained from whatever had happened earlier.
She wanted to know more. She wanted to know names- after all, Dom had had a few run ins with some gangs before, wouldn't she know who had done this to Brian and Jack? Another glance around the room, and she sighed. She could hear the shower shutting off in the other room, so she ventured to the back, trying to find Brian.
"Brian? Hey, I meant to ask you ear-" She cut off when she rounded the corner to his bedroom and found him naked other than a towel. She blushed and rounded the corner again, trying not to laugh at herself. This was her boyfriend, it wasn't like she hadn't seen him naked before. She shook her head and rounded the corner again. "Put some clothes on, I wanna talk about tonight..." She smirked, hands on her hips, waiting.

Brian turned around when he was just about to drop the towel to see Mia come in and then dissapear again. A second later she showed up again confusing him even more. "Okay!" He said even though he really didn't want to and dropped the towel to the floor. Then he went to his drawer and searched for a pair of boxers and some shorts. With a groan he sat down on his bed and pulled the boxers and shorts on before he let himself fall back onto the bed. "What do you want to talk about?"

Mia covered her face with her hands, trying not to laugh. She hadn't actually expected Brian to drop his cover that quickly, but obviously Brian wasn't afraid to show off his body... She peeked through her fingers and smiled, waiting for him to finish getting dressed.
When he was finally seated on the bed, Mia moved over to him, sitting beside the laid back Brian. She could see hits cuts and bruises better now and it broke her heart a bit to know that someone did this to him without her even knowing. Hell, she had been at work talking to the x-ray technician about tanning while Brian was getting shot at.
"Who did this, Brian? I... I want to know. Do I know them?" She hoped it wasn't anyone she knew, but she had to know, just to satisfy her curiousity.

Brian lifted his head slightly to see what she was referring to. Quickly he brushed his hand over his forehead and said. "Don't worry about it. Just a couple of scratches." He knew very well that wouldn't satisfy her. So he propped himself up on his elbows. "No, I don't think you know him and I'm glad about it. Hell, I wouldn't even recognise the guy any more because it all went so fast and it was pitch black in that warehouse. He threw me over his shoulder and shot at the ground next to my head." Ruefully he added. "I shot him in self defense...but he's alive." In order to avoid her getting all caught up in how much she hated his job he tried to change the subject. "Have you made up your mind whether you want to take our mutt home?" What a sorry attempt. He made a face.

"Brian," Mia warned, waving her hand toward the front room. "I meant this. All of this. Who trashed your house and drafted you into all this?" She knew she was being nosy and getting worked up over nothing, but she felt completely out of the loop now.
She shivered when Brian talked about shooting the man. The last time she had seen Brian with a gun, he had been pointing it at Dom... and Dom's even bigger gun. Jessie had died that day, her brother ran to the other side of the world, and Brian had run off to Miami. It wasn't exactly a good memory. She opened her mouth to tell him exactly what she thought of him getting involved in it when he interrupted.
"Who? Missy?" Mia grinned, thinking of the mutt sleeping in the backyard. She could always use the company at her house... but... "Do you really want to seperate them? Buster and Missy?"

"If you feel lonely you could take Buster, too. One buster's enough in this house." He joked thankful his distraction worked. Brian liked his dog but if Mia wanted comoany he'd lend him to her.
Then he explained. "Jack and I went out to a race the other night. Jack shot his mouth off and had to borrow the buy-in from a girl called Amira. I think she runs a gang. Unfortunately Jack lost. Amira was cool...´she just kept asking for her money back but tonight one of her protectors showed up here and said he wanted the money now or he'd shoot our kneecaps out. My jack-ass brother doesn't have that kind of money since he doesn't have a job. So the guy demanded that we help him with a job tonight." Brian took a deep breath. "It's done now. We helped him and Jack's off the hook." He brushed his hand over her arm.

"Bri, I don't know if I can handle two dogs." Mia couldn't help but laugh at him. She tried to imagine the Fort in a couple of weeks- with Dom back and all the group being back together, she couldn't fit two dogs in there, could she? "We'll see, okay?"
Amira. It didn't sound familliar, and because of it, a sinking feeling took over. Mia frowned, thinking about how bad a new gang could be around these parts. But from the sound of it, they weren't just attacking anyone, it was just the people who borrowed money carelessly from them. "So you're completely off the hook? This bodyguard without a name isn't gonna come barging in here again, demanding you help out with another pointless crime?"

Why did she know which questions not to ask. Brian hestitated. He didn't want to keep things from her but he knew it wouldn't make her happy. "We were told Jack would be off the hook." After a moment he added. "However my current assignment is to get into that gang and find out who's pulling the strings and gather evidence that connects them to Braga." There it was. Maybe it was time for another slap now. Brian looked at her full of guilt as if he had done something wrong. "I"m sorry. It's my job...just like you patch people up."
