"It's kind of strange...I mean to think that in a few months this little baby growing inside me will be here with use. To tell you the truth it makes me really nervous. I have no idea how to be a mom, I hardly remember my own mother." Mira looked up at him and smiled. "But with your around I think I will be okay." She pulled a sling from the cabinet. "Found one." She stood and handed it to him.

While Brian put it around his neck and carefully slid his right arm inside he said. "I'm sure you're going to be a good mom. It's a natural instinct." Knitting his brow he wondered whether Mira already told him about her mother. "What happened to your mom?"

Mira could feel a knot forming in her throat. "She... She was a military police serving over seas...She left a lot when I was little but she always came back until I was six. She left just like she normaly did was working on a guard duty somewhere, and was shot, they tried to save her but the she lost to much blood to quickly...." She tried to hold back the tears but a few escaped, sliding down her cheeks onto the floor.

"Oh no." Brian cocked his head to the side while he was listening to her but her struggle was so obvious he simply he to take her in his arms before she could shed any more tears. Suddenly a few dots connected. Her mother had been shot and killed and now, that Mira was about to be a mother herself, she had shot the father of her kid. His girlfriend had to be in a turmoil of emotions. "I'm so sorry, Mira. I shouldn't have asked. I'm an idiot." He held her tight but could feel her rapid breaths against his chest.

Mira rested her head against his chest. "It's okay. I would have told you sooner or later." She dried her tears on her sleeve. "What about your mom? What is she like?" Sliding her hand into his she lead him out and up the stairs to the deck, Max fallowing the two off them.

Her sobbing was subsiding. Thank goodness because it's breaking Brian's heart to see her so sad and this time it isn't because of hormones. "My mom is very nice. She's the one who keeps the family together. Kind of the link between my brother, me and my dad, who is pretty strict. I'm sure she won't be impressed with what I've done lately but she will forgive me. I'm not so sure about my dad." His expression became serious because Brian knew that his father, being a cop down to the bone even though he was retired, would not overlook his latest slip. He had given him hell for teaming up with Toretto. "Most likely he'll never talk to me again." He squeezed her. "Our dads can team up and chase us together."

" I wish I would have had the chance to meet her." Mira rested her head against his good shoulder. "That would be a site to see." She laughed a little at the idea of their dads working together. Setting her free hand on her stomach she stared out at the water. "Its gonna be an interesting seven months till this little on is born."

"I don't want to be around when they meet!" Brian exclaimed. "I actually don't want to be around your dad at all. Do you have a photo of him so I know when to pick up my feet and run?" The wind ruffled their clothes and gave him chills or maybe it was the prospect of meeting her father, who would either arrest him or kill him right away.

Mira pulled her wallet out of her pocket and looked threw it pulling out a picture of her and her dad from the day she graduated from collage. "That's my dad." She closed her eyes and enjoyed the feeling of the sea breeze as she leaned against him. It was kinda relaxing to stand there with him.

Brian took the picture between his index finger and thumb and looked at it closely. "You take after your mom, that's for sure." The guy in the picture was at least two heads taller than Mira and obviously worked out. He reminded Brian a lot of Dom. If it ever came to a fight between him and her dad Brian would have to run...fast. A little worried he bit his lip. "Well, I don't hope he's a good as you say." Then he handed her the picture and gave her a weak smile. "I'm sorry, babe. I gotta go back inside." Most likely he had a fever which made him feel limp, weak and not ready for anything. "I think I'll have to go 'convince' a pharmacist to give me some good drugs." The question was how...without a lick of Portugese or a prescription. "Hopefully we won't have to rob the damn drug store."

Mira folded the picture back up and put it back in her wallet. "Your right I do look like my mom." Taking his hand she lead him back down into the ship to their room. " You should lay down and sleep more." She let his hand go. "All I can say is don't track to much attention." Hearing her stomach growl she walked to the fridge and took out a sandwich. "Do you speak any language besides English?"

"A few words in Mexican...and you? (and German:-)" He followed her advice and crawled back under the blanket, which provided at least some warmth. "Subtle...hm, that's my speciality, Mira. You should know that by now." He joked. "If you look like your mom, maybe our daughter will look like you."

"English is all I can speak, foreign language was never my strong suit in school." Mira walked over and sat on the edge of the bed eating her sandwich. Leaning back she rested her head on his stomach. "Yes you are subtle....In your own mind." A small smile spread acrossed her lips. "She might or he might look like you." Her hand rested on her stomach.

So it was teasing time again. From underneath the scratchy woolen blanket Brian mumbled. "We wouldn't want that..oh no. We'd have to chase off all the girls with a stick!" It seemed like Mira was in a better humor now than earlier which was a good thing. They needed to keep a focus on the positive rather than the negative if they wanted to make their relationship work under such extreme circumstances.

"I wouldn't go that far." Mira laughed a little. It was a relief to see that they could still tease each other and laugh after all the tension of the last few hours. It gave her hope that they could figure things out and would be able to raise their baby as a family. After finishing her sandwich she slide under the blanket next to him. "Well there is never a dull moment in our lives."
