"That's a nice thought but...Since my mom died my dad has always been over protective of me. So there is no way he wont come after me even if he isn't given the case..." She looked up at him. "And if he is given the case.... well he will find us. We cant really hide from him." She sighed and used her free hand to brush away any stray tears from her face then wrapped it around him. "He never gives up....ever." Her mismatched eyes meet his pale blue ones, only this time both her eyes were a deep brown.

Brian shuddered at the thought. "I hope you're exagerating." He stated dryly rubbing his face with both hands. Behind his palms he mumbled. "Shit." But then dropped them and studied his right one. "What is he going to do if he catches you...us?"

"I don't know...." Mira stood and pulled him up with her and lead him out to where their vehicles, minus her bike, were. She need to get out of that little room for awhile. "Worst case... well I don't think he will shoot us but he will drag us back to the US." She held onto his hand and let her other hand rest on her stomach.

Brian really didn't want to get up or walk around but crawl back under the blanket. He was sure the throbbing in his shoulder was caused by an infection and he felt like he had a fever. If he told Mira though she'd be blaming herself and start crying again and that's the last thing he wanted. He'd rather grit his teeth and follow her. "He'd drag you back even though you'd go to prison...pregnant? If he loves you he won't do that." Surely her father wasn't such an asshole. "Doesn't family always come first?"

Mira stopped walking. "He doesn't know I'm pregnant.... I never got the chance to tell him I was too busy." She squeezed his hand. "Come on I should probably change the bandage on your shoulder." She lead him back threw the small bed room and into the bathroom. "What do you think is going threw your parents heads right now? Do you think they believe you are innocent?"

Brian held her hand for a moment. "Hey, you don't have to do this." He knew that the ugly sight would make her feel bad again. After all she had been the one who pulled the trigger and blew the hole through his shoulder. Not that he didn't expect it to happen one day. Every cop probably did. But shooting your friend or even spouse was just too creepy.
Then she brought up his parents. "Oh shit." He muttered and slid down to sit on the closed toilet cover. "Shit. I haven't even thought about them." Brian put his head in his hand, then looked up at Mira. "What am I going tot ell them?" Frowning he stared ahead. "I'm not sure whether they think I'm innocent. probably not. My dad never approved of street racing. He knows about me letting Toretto go. He thought back then that he needed to screw my head on right...usually only my brother chooses the wrong paths but they know I've made 'illegal' choices before." Running his hand down to his chin he sighed. "They won't...oh well."

Mira gently pulled his sweatshirt over his head and set it down on the sink. "Oh...well I guess that's the way things should be... Don't wanna have anyone else involved that doesn't have to be..." She gently removed the bandage from his shoulder. The wound looked horrible and she was filled with guilt. Taking a piece of gauze she put a little water on it and started to clean the wound. "I forgot to ask earlier.... Why do you want a girl?"

Brian averted his gaze. He played cool but in reality it bugged him a great deal that his parents would think he was a thief or worse. While Mira pulled the gauze off he asked. "Did you ever get a hold of my brother?" Then he got distracted by the sight that presented itself. Brian had done an awesome job, much better than he wished because now the exit wound wasn't just inflamed but starting to get pussy. The sight so close up almost made him gag and he actually had to force himself not to look away but Mira's cleaning was almost more than he could handle. "Sorry if you think I'm a little girl but...could you just stop that...now! I can't handle it, okay?" He got a little louder than necessary probably because he was completely ashamed for being such a cry baby.
Looking her in the eyes he wondered whether she was really sorry for what she'd done. After all he more than deserved it because that poor man almost bled to death. Did she actually belief him that he hadn't killed all the other people? The picture of the man without a face still haunted him and he suddenly zoomed out. It was like he was back on that cargo ship all of sudden with Walter attacking him out of nowhere. Why didn't Mira come any earlier? Brian suddenly moved away from her touch and stared at her in disbelief. "Why didn't you come sooner that day?"

Mira jerked her hands back. "Sorry. Its just really infected and not looking good..." She set the gauze piece down on the counter. "Yeah I got a hold of him." She sat down on the floor in front of him and looked up. "I was doing what you asked and waited for your call. You told me not to come inside till you called so that's what I did..." She stared down at the floor. "I'm sorry I truly am... If I had been with you the whole time that night things might have been different. We wouldn't be on a cargo ship on the way to Japan."

Brian had no recollection of ever asking her to stay outside but it did sound a lot like him...overly protective and not very clever. Once again he had made her feel bad. Why was he doing that? Did he secretly blame Mira? Was he actually holding a grudge? For a moment he just looked at her not knowing what to tell her. "Don't be." He simply stated. "You've done nothing wrong and still tried to make it right. I deserve it....I guess you didn't. But it's not too late to go back and turn yourself in. They'll give you extenuating circumstances because you're pregnant and because you came back." Brian didn't want her to object, he just wanted to let her know that he should have known better and she wasn't to be blamed.
Trying to change the subject he looked at his messed up shoulder and turned his hand with the palm up. There was barely any feeling in it. Probably some nerves had been damaged. Brian needed that hand and the feeling in it because he was right handed. At least the skyline had the stick on the left side. Silently he ran his left thumb along the other arm and palm before he stated matter of factly. "I have no feeling in that hand anymore." Was there again a slight undertone of laying a guilt trip on Mira?

Mira stood up and grabbed his good arm dragging him out of the bathroom. She didn't know how many times she had apologized for shooting him but apparently saying sorry wasn't good enough. As she pulled him out of the room she grabbed a bullet proof vest and one of the pistols from the gun case before heading up to the main deck. She had to get this to stop the guilt was driving her mad. She putt the gun in his good hand and walked about ten feet away before putting on the vest clipping it in place. "There. Now get even so I don't have to deal with this f*cking guilt." She stood facing him her mismatched eyes staring straight into his pale blue ones. "I have appoligized over and over about shooting you but it seems that's not enough. Don't you think I feel bad and regret shooting you? I never meant to do anything serious. If I could go back now and change things I would, but I'm not a god damned magician I cant change the past or live with this guilt. I haven't sleep for more then an hour at a time since I did it. I just keep playing things over and over in my head." Tears started to slide down her cheeks though she never looked away from him. "Now please hurry up and make this quick I cant stand the guilt trips anymore." She closed her eyes and waited cursing inwardly at the emotional mess she had become in the last month.

The fact that Mira was suddenly grabbing his arm and dragging him outside surprised Brian. Wondering what she was doing he followed along. When Mira grabbed her vest and gun on the way he had a sneaking suspicion was she was up to but still stumbled along after her.
She put her vest on, gave Brian the gun and started rambling on about being sick and tired of this gulit trip. Brian on the other side felt like she deserved a little bit of guilt for actually shooting him. Her attitude and the fact that she actually though he was capable of purposely shooting her, the woman he loved who was pregnant with his child, made him incredibly upset and angry. He weighed the gun in his hand and looked up into her wildly staring eyes, that were filled with resentment. Gritting his teeth he stared back, then simply said. "Take your vest off then." A very uncomfortable minute passed until he tossed the gun in front of her feet.
"Is that what you think of me?" He could feel his whole body shaking , mostly because of anger now. "That I would shoot you? That I'd risk injuring you or our baby? Thanks a lot, Mira. I wasn't aware that you think of me as such conscienceless asshole!" The last word was practically spat at her. Another thought crossed his mind. "If that's the case...do you think I shot the people on that ship, Mira?" Her answer would determine how their life would evolve from here. Brian could barely contain the crazy emotions that were going wild inside of him.

Mira took half a step back. "I know you didn't do it. If there was any doubt in my mind... I would have left you in the hospital." Her shaking hands unclipped the vest, letting it join the gun at her feet. Her eyes turned to the floor. "I never meant to hurt you Brian...."

For a moment Brian thought she dropped the vest to ask him to really shot her. At least she didn't go to that extend. What she wanted him to do only a minute ago still proved that she didn't think highly of him and it hurt...now actually more than it pissed him off. True disappointment showed on his features when he listened to her. Her apologies for shooting him didn't mean much. His shoulder hurt much less than his hurt pride. "Hm...you know, I far from perfect. I have a long history of screwing up in my job, I've let friends down, I'm great a leaving shit half done and have a temper but ..." He struggled to find the right words for how her actions made him feel. "...I'm just not a scumbag that would purposely hurt you. I do have a conscience, you know? I'm sorry you know me this little." Joking up more and more he pointed at her. "What you've just done...sucks, Mira." There was still this physical distance between them and right now it didn't only seem physical.

"You are right... I do not know you well..." Mira sat down on the deck and held her head in her hands. "...I hardly know myself anymore...." Tears slide down her cheeks. Right now she wished he would shut up and leave her alone so she could try and figure things out. One of her hands moved from her face to her stomach. Was this the kind of life they were going to bring their child into? A life were they are fighting and on the run constantly? That wasn't a life any of them should be living.

Brian was so disappointed that he didn't really want to to know what she was thinking or feeling. She had hurt him. Even though he averted his gaze he could still see her slipping to the floor and hear her words. Then her hand went to her stomach again and for a brief moment there was a hint of understanding. She was overly emotional. Wasn't that what pregnant women were famous for? On top of that Brian had manouvered them all in a really awkward situation. Somehow he managed to overcome his inhibitions. This shouldn't be how they'd get reunited. So he got over himself and walked towards her, sat down next to her silently and simply took her hand.

Drying the tears from her face with her free hand Mira turned and looked at him. She wanted to say something... anything to him but the words wouldn't come. She looked back down at her lap. "I'm sorry Brian..." She held his hand a little tighter.

Brian felt her hand squeezed tight and heard her. For the first time her words actually registered. A slight smile crossed his lips as he nodded. "Come here." Gently he pulled her closer until he could wrap his arm around her. His cheek brushed up against hers.

Mira was surprised to say the least when he wrapped his arm around her. She carefully moved his hand to rest on her stomach. "You need to shave." She let her cheek rest against his. "And you need to let me clean your shoulder or its gonna get worse." She gently squeezed his hand.

The knot in his throat was still so huge that he couldn't speak but Brian knew that now was not the time for more accusations or arguments. When all of the dust would settle she'd hopefully see his true colors and would understand that it meant a lot to him.
He held her tight for a little longer while the wind blew across the deck and ruffle their hair. This was one heck of a crazy situation. Brian nodded and got up but never let go of her hand.
Together they walked back inside.
