After three day of battling with himself and debating whether he should or should not help Jack Brian decided to go on a little excursion while doing some research for his latest case. Basically he could give up all the research now, arrest his brother and squeeze him like a lemon and the damn case about expensive cars going missing would be done but the case had taken an unexpected turn and Brian hoped to get a little closer to the big man behind the show by helping Jack. Unfortunately he couldn't tell his boss about the idea since Jack was, well, one of his relatives.
So it happened that a neatly folded sheet of paper got carried out of the police department in Brian's pocket, then placed on the passenger seat of his car and drive half way across town until Brian reached an area that he really wouldn't want to call home. It reeked of crime and poor people.
Nevertheless he pulled up in front of one of the apartment buildings with a few teens hanging out front offering him all kinds of stuff he didn't need or want before he went through the names on the mailboxes but couldn't find 'O'Conner'. "Hey, you." He called one of the kids over. "Do you know a guy named Jack O'Conner? What apartment does he live in." The answer was. "Five bucks." Brian frowned and handed the kid a dollar. "I said five!" In return Brian flashed his badge at him which made the boy mutter. "Second floor, fourth door on the right." "Thanks, bro." Brian turned around and made his way up the dark flight of stairs.
Standing in front of the door he wondered whether he should knock or just slide the paper through the gap. The latter sounded like a good idea.

Faye sighed, she god damn hated work, hated it even more when she was pulling a night shift, then was at college all day and then had to work, it irritated her and left her feeling crappy, and what was worse her car had broken down, and Jack wasn’t freaking answering his phone, which left her dealing with Jimmy, who kinda creped her out, and her car was screwed just great.
Jimmy pulled up outside the block of apartments in possibly the worst part of town, the only good thing about it was you did what the hell you liked and didn’t get shit, and it was close to the beach. With a tight smile she looked over at Jimmy “Tell him to give me a call, or Jack” She shrugged pushing open the car door, slamming it closed behind her before leaning through the open window to smile, “Thanks Jimmy” stepping away she watched as he drove away before sighing. God she was so freaking tired, she wanted to go home, get into bed and then sleep for a month
Apparently though things wasn’t going to turn out that way. A couple of the kids from the apartments below her informed her that a cop had been asking for Jack. With a slightly furrowed brow she smiled at them, before once more trying Jack with no answer
Walking up the steps she frowned at the man standing out their door, licking her lips she stepped closer, keys jangling in her hand, it wasn’t until she got closer did she recognise him and her heart sank, “You” She stated eyeing the officer up and down, “what the hell are you doing here”

A woman came along the corridor with her keys jingling- that's about all Brian could make out in the dark hallway with the only working light behind her. "I'm sorry, is this your place. I must have gotten the wrong door." She was now close enough to see her face and Brian knew her from somewhere he was sure. It took a moment but when she said 'You...' her voice put it all together. "Yeah me, what are you doing here?"
Of course, slick Jack had already gotten himself a lawyer, just in case. "Visiting a client?" He investigated.

Faye furrowed her brow, it was the cop, the pissed of cop from the station. Her gaze wandered from him to her door and then back, her brow raised ever so slightly. He was asking her if she was visiting a client, was he crazy, dressed in her waitress uniform and looking worse for wear. Obviously though he wasn’t there for her, which meant he was there for Jack. Frowning slightly she folded an arm over her chest, looking at him.
“I live here” She stated eyeing him with distrust, “Who ya looking for” She questioned with a raised brow, her head tipping to the side as she continued to watch him carefully, oh she was gonna kill jack if he had gotten into trouble all ready.

"You LIVE HERE?" That was the last thing he expected from the smart lawyer that had handed his ass to him. Living...as in with Jack, next door to Jack? Here as in have no money to afford something better. Brian almost asked 'why' but held his tongue. Instead he answered her question. "As I said, I must have gotten the wrong door...the kid downstairs probably lied to me." Maybe she knew though. So he offered her his hand. "I'm sorry, I think we've gotten of on the wrong foot. The other day at the station I had a long day and your client was my only lead...so, sorry if I was , hm, grumpy. I'm looking for my brother. Do you know which apartment belongs to Jack O'Conner by any chance?"

The black Evo stood, lifted up on jack stands, on the cracked concrete behind the shitty apartment he called home. Papa Roach blasted with 'Change or Die' out of the speaker system shamelessly loud while Jack carefully poked a screw driver in a clearly corroded part of the exhaust pipe. He had finally found the source of why his car sounded like shit. The rust had eaten a hole in to the pipe, just like he had feared, but at least it gave him a good excuse towards Faye as to why he had spend most of this month's rent on a stainless steel one. She knew the car was his goddamned pride, and a source of income on a good friday night. She'd understand..
He wiped the sweat of his forehead with the oil stained wife beater he was wearing before he began twisting out the first bolt. It went easy enough, but the second did not.. "Come on, you son of a bitch.." He grumbled as he added a little more strength to his effort. And just then, his hand holding the tool slipped and somehow he managed to cut the palm of his hand open on something.
"Fuck!" He shouted and pulled himself out from under the Evo. With his right hand bleeding, he reached inside the car with his left to turn of the stereo and grab a clean-ish rag to wrap around his hand. While leaning forward, his eyes caught the blinking screen of his phone and he cursed under his breath once more when he picked the phone up. He had left the thing on the driver's seat since it would only break if he kept it in his pocket while working. Multiple missed calls, all by Faye.. Now that would most likely have put her in a great mood.
After looking at the time, he shoved his phone in his pocket and wrapped the rag around his hand before he locked the Evo. He figured she should be home by now. Which meant he should get his ass up stairs and see why she had called him more than once.
Like always, he threatened the kids he'd kill them if they even looked at the car funny as he made his way in to the building and up the stairs, only to find two people standing at his door. One, his girl. The other.. his brother. Whether he was happy with that or not, was yet to be seen.
"Yo, bro. What you doing here?" He asked as he made it closer, using his fairly clean hand to lift Faye's chin up so he could press a kiss to her lips. "Hey, babe." He whispered in to the kiss before he turned his attention on Brian once more. "Finally decided to check if I was still alive, huh?" He smirked.

The words that were almost yelled out his mouth didn’t exactly come to much of a surprise to Faye, after all she was nearly a lawyer, had handed this officers ass to him the other day they always expected you to live somewhere better somewhere with much more class then the slum that they currently lived in, at least she could say the inside looked better then the outside. Swallowing she couldn’t help but laugh, “That’s what I said, lived here for nearly two years now” She stated eyeing him, still wondering just who the hell he was looking for. The kids down stairs had said Jack, if she played her cards right, she could convince him Jack didn’t live here, if she could get it out of him about just what Jack had meant to have done.
With a furrow of her brow she tipped her head to the side, the kids gave the block a bad name sure, but they were still kids and they weren’t stupid, they didn’t lie to cops and they actually made the block safer, they were the patrol dogs the block simply didn’t have. More then once Faye or Jack had forgotten to lock the doors to the apartment and they had made sure no one even looked funny at their door.
She offered him a smile at his words, dark eyes sparkling, she didn’t take his offered hand though, simply stared at him blankly then offered him a shrug, “don’t worry about it, its your job, id be in the wrong career if I let dicks like you mess with my day” She offered him a smile to let him know her words were only slightly teasing.
Swallowing her smile fell pretty quickly, brother….Jack had mentioned he had a brother in one of their brief talks about how shitty family were, and Leon had even mentioned said Brian O’Conner, clenching her jaw she rose a brow as Jack came up the stairs, she was still pissed that he had ignored her calls, and now his brother was, both a cop and the one who had screwed over Leon and his friends, and he hadn’t once mentioned it to her.
“Don’t baby me” She muttered shaking her head, gaze wandering down to his bloody hand, “Ya know that car is a death trap” She laughed, shifting between Brian so she could unlock the door and gesture them inside, “You sit so I can take a look at your hand” She motioned Jack, her gaze wandering over towards Brian, “And you, don’t get any bright ideas”

The chick had come off professional before now she simply seemed arrogant and bitchy. When Jack came up the hallway and greeted her with a kiss it wasn't hard to put two and two together. Smart move, Jackie. Getting a lawyer as a girlfriend.
To his brother he nodded. "What's up. Yeah, I figured I make sure nobody's dumped you in the ocean yet." He replied only half-joking. Behind his back he quickly shoved the list in his belt under his shirt before he entered the apartment. The inside looked a lot better. No flaking paint, clean, some decoration on shelves, pictures on the walls. Definetly not Jack's doing.
At the girlfriends command Brian shrugged and leaned against the wall. "Don't be so overly friendly, Miss Perez."
While she unwrapped his brothers dirty hand Brian looked around some more. Sure the apartment was in a bad part of town but it wasn't that bad. Surely not need to be stealing.
"So you're a lawyer and waitressing?" Brian asked out of interest and expected a nasty come back.

Jack slowly pulled back out of the kiss. His brow had furrowed a bit at the tone in Faye's voice. She was pissed at him, which meant he, apparently, had done something wrong. But the only thing he could think of was that he had missed a couple of her calls. Now was that an 'end of the world' situation? He didn't fucking think so. He couldn't jump up every time she called him, especially not when he was working on a car. In this case his own..
His already lacking good mood faltered further at her next words. His jaws tensed as he swallowed down his anger, barely. She had hit a wrong nerve. In his eyes the Evo wasn't a deathtrap, at least she wouldn't be when he was be done with her. But a good fix- and tune-up job required money, and a lot of it. Something they just didn't have, despite their two jobs. Not yet anyway.
"That deathtrap is still the reason we have food on the table every week, dear." His voice sounded irritated as he moved passed her and Brian, and sat down on the worn down couch. "By the way, I'll be working double shifts at the garage the rest of the month. I suggest you do the same if you still want to have a roof over your head this next month. Had to buy a new exhaust system yesterday." He ran his good hand through his sweaty hair as he watched her. If it weren't for his words, then it was the look in his eyes that told her exactly which money he had used. Between the rent, her college tuition and their monthly bills, there wasn't much stretch in their bank accounts left, if at all, to pay for other things. The rent money had been the easiest for him to access, as it was saved up in an envelop, stashed between a couple of books he had never read.
He reached out his cut hand towards Faye at her command while his other hand plucked the, by now weathered looking, cigarette from behind his ear. He placed it between his lips and lit it with ease, soon huffing out the first cloud of smoke. Despite the stinging sensation in his hand, he showed no sign of pain when Faye began unwrapping the bloodied rag away from the cut. He wanted to tell her he was fine, that she didn't need to look at it, but he already knew before hand it would be of no use. She'd simply tell him he was an irresponsible fuck and do it anyway. Normally he'd find it amusing, and yes, he was a glutton for punishment and absolutely loved it, but not in front of his brother.
He turned his attention on Brian and shrugged. "Well, as you can see, I'm still breathing. So what else brings you here?" While he let Faye do her thing, he watched Brian intensely as he took another pull from his cigarette. "Got curious about the dump I live in? Or maybe you wanted to remind me I'm an idiot and that I'm throwing my life away, huh, bro?" He mumbled as the smoke escaped his mouth along with his words.

She headed straight to the kitchen where the first aid kit was, it was a common thing for Jack to get injured when it came to his car, his pride and joy, stepping back into the living room she turned her gaze over towards Brian with a raised brow, “Law school isn’t cheap and it case you haven’t noticed not exactly rolling in it” her words were short, clipped, she was annoyed, pissed at him and pissed at Brian. Taking a seat on the coffee table in front of Jack she gently unwrapped his hand, tugging ever so slightly at his words.
Clenching her jaw she would have been even more pissed hadn’t she been so tired, shaking her head she dabbed at his wound, deliberately adding extra pressure to show him she was pretty damned annoyed, “make it the next two, my car clapped out on me on the way home”
Swallowing she sighed, it was a good job they were doing this job otherwise both of them would be out on their ears by the end of the month. Sighing she continued to work on his hand, wiping away the blood before bandaging it slightly. Twisting she stared at Brian, “if you’re here to tell him that you can turn right back around and don’t let the door hit you on the way out” Her dark doe like eyes turned dark with anger.
Letting out a breath she tugged Jacks chin until he was looking at her and pressed a soft kiss to his lips, “He screwed over Lee Jack” It was obvious he wasn’t putting two and two together, or he simply didn’t know, but either way Brian wasn’t welcome. Smiling tightly she stood taking the first aid kit back into the kitchen, returning and perching herself on his lap.

There were a lot of bad vibes thrown back and forth in the small apartment that made Brian want to run and hide. It seemed like a lot of frustration had been endured for too long and while the girl was still making attempts at an honest life Jack obviously had figured out his way to help them out and for some reason it was a little understandable for Brian now that he was standing in the living room of Mr. and Mrs. Frustration.
For some strange reason the two changed their little argument into a kissing match and focussed all their anger on Brian. "I screwed over who?" It didn't make sense. Brian didn't know any Lee's except for the Chinese guy that owned the variety store at the end of block.
"When you're done being so hostile can you tell me how much your sweetheart knows about your job...and I'm not talking about the one at the garage?" He straightened up but remained at the door, which seemed to be the only escape route. Apparently both weren't fond of cops or him personally so maybe he needed to use it sooner or later. He caughed a little when he inhaled a good gulp of Jacks smoke.

Jack winced barely noticeable maybe once or twice as the antiseptic bit at the cut. Faye's dabs were becoming increasingly more forceful, which told him she didn't want him to forget she was pissed. And soon he realized why. Her car had broken down, again. It explained the many (missed) calls, but how the fuck had he supposed to have known? "Did you at least bring it to the place I work at? I can take a look at it during my break, and if it's fixable, we can save on the labor costs. But I keep telling you, Faye. No matter what work I'll put in to it, that thing is ripe for the junkyard."
He moved his hand after she finished bandaging it and allowed her to tug his face towards her, pressing his own kiss to her lips when their lips met. No matter how pissed at each other they sometimes seemed to the outside world, something simple as a kiss or a good fuck could always make any tension between them disappear. It was that easy. His brow furrowed at her words and his eyes moved back on to Brian. "Lee as in Leon... Her brother." He clarified when Faye walked back in to the kitchen, though it didn't clarify shit for him. His brother knew her brother? Was the world really that small?
He leaned forward and pushed the cigarette out in the ashtray on the coffee table. "Is that even a story I want to hear?" He asked as he sat back again. His arms wrapped around Faye's body when she rested back in to his lap and he placed a small kiss to the base of her neck before he shrugged at Brian's question. "She knows... I don't do anything behind her back." He didn't feel the need to. She'd find out sooner or later anyway.

Since insults and bad attitude was thrown around as if it was for free Brian felt inclined to add his share. "I guess it comes in handy that a criminal is dating a lawyer then." By now Brian was angry and it wasn't too hard to figure out who her brother was."...or has one as a sister."
Brian came to help but now he was being insulted. He figured Faye would tell Jack anyway so he might as well tell the story his way. "A couple of years ago I went undercover and busted a couple of car jackers. Her brother was one of them. Maybe she also mentioned that I actually never brought them in but quit my job instead." It was a pretty short version but overall true.
Brian took a deep breath. "You two are a perfect match. I bet you've already got a plan worked out in case jack ends up in jail and I'm the security net so Enrico Domingues doesn't kill him." It was a long shot but maybe Jack had heard the name around whoever gave him the car list or whereever he dropped them off.

Faye sighed she didn’t want to be pissed at Jack, not today, she had just wanted to go home, soak in the bath and relax, she hadn’t wanted to run into his brother, nor had she wanted her car to die, Jack was right, her car had been a shit whole, but between her fees for College, and the rent and the important things, it simply wasn’t practical getting another car. With a sigh she shrugged a shoulder at him “I would have if it would have gotten, it died, as in went to the car junk yard, Jimmy brought me home, the thing is bye bye” Which was just another expense they really didn’t need. But it also meant she was gonna need a new car, and if she got a new car then both of them could work the scene properly instead of her using his Evo when she had the itch to race and make her own cash.
Licking her lips she relaxed somewhat in his embrace, it was like that between them, they could yell, and their neighbours knew their fights gotta pretty loud and things tended to get broken, but then one of them would give, and a kiss, and normally a fuck sorted the rest. By now Jack had figured she was mad, and had accepted her apology, and the simple kiss to the back of her neck told her he was sorry..
Dark eyes flickered up to Brian, so Jack had gone to his cop brother, that had been risking a lot, it also told her Jack was scared….or at least worried something would go wrong. She twisted only enough for her to turn her gaze to Jack, dark eyes furrowed in concern for a moment, before dark eyes flickered back over to Brian.
A laugh left her lips, “You gotta check your facts, me and Jack were together long before this, and he’s been ‘clean’ for a while now” She hated that, hated what Brian had been insinuating with his words, Jack wasn’t with her simply because he could possibly be going to jail..
Another laugh fell from her lips, this time a dry one, her head shook and dark eyes turned angry “Then explain the, ‘I never brought them in’ to my brother who is rotting in jail” Her voice never once rose, but was deadly calm, if Brian was smart he’d know how angry she really was.
Swallowing she rolled her eyes at his words, “You think he’s behind this…the one pulling the strings, please he hasn’t got enough power or sway to wipe his own ass” Her gaze turned to Jack, “Seriously out of everyone you chose this idiot to help you”

"Okay, I've heard enough." Brian was beyond angry now. He was at a state of 'don't-fucking-care'. He had come to help and now got pushed off in a corner and got called names.
He pushed himself away from the wall and pointed his finger at her. "If he's in jail then not because of me." He muttered through gritted teeth. He didn't feel the need to explain himself any further to this woman. If she wanted the truth she should ask Leon. Any sympathies he had for her at the station were gone. Sure she was pretty but she was a bitch. Her and Jack matched perfectly.
Then he turned to Jack. He could feel that he would explode if she talked to him like that again. So he needed to clear the room fast. "I came here to help you and all you two accomplish is insulting me. Forget that damn list!" With that he turned the door handle, opened it and was out the door fuming. Outside he stared down three of the teens who were listening to their yelling and shouting at the to get lost.

Finally some justice. The rust bucket thorn in his eye was no more. He wasn't too happy about hearing Jimmy had taken her home though. The fucker was known for trying shit on anything wearing a skirt if he had the chance. But he was sure that if Jimmy had tried anything, Faye would tell him. Even if she always said she could handle herself, he'd still like a chance at knocking the teeth down the grabby hand's throat.
He watched with barely hidden amusement as Faye took on his brother. It wasn't so much the conversation that had him near smirking, as it was the way Brian was looking throughout it. Yeah, he was fucking his own little lawyer these days, and it looked convenient in his situation, but it wasn't why he was with her. Like Faye said.. They'd been together for some time now and he hadn't had a real run in with the law for even longer than that, until recently that was. If Brian had done his research on his own brother, he would have known that.
He leaned forward a bit and let his hand glide over Faye's thigh, giving it a soft squeeze to get her attention. "Hey, calm down, babe. As much as it looks right now, my brother isn't the enemy." He whispered in her ear. "I asked him to give me some inside information, that's all." He lifted his head away from her neck as Brian finally seemed to snap and stormed out of the apartment, yelling and crying about something. Oh, she had done it now. But wait a minute..! "Fuck." The damned list! His brother actually come through and now he was fucking up his chance.
"Baby, get up." He gently, yet urgently nudged Faye to get off his lap. When she moved, he stood up and followed after Brian. He needed that fucking list. "Yo, bro! Wait up! She was just kidding!" He shouted after his brother before he caught up. "Damn, you got your panties in a twist, man."

Brian whirled around. "I have nothing in a twist." He yelled back. "You two are twisted!"
Once again the kids were poking their heads around the corner. So he directed his anger at them for a moment. "Get the fuck out of here, you nosy brats."
Then he placed both feet firmly on the ground and calmed down somewhat with his hands at his sides. "I had a weak moment when I got you your ..." Quickly he reached behind his back and held the piece of paper up in the air. Then he tore it to shreds and shoved it in his pocket. "Bad judgement, I guess." The look that was now plastered on Jacks face was priceless and blew away his anger. This was truely satisfying. Brian had to snicker at him.

Jack looked over his shoulder just in time to see a couple of his neighborhood kids disappear behind the wall. He drew his tongue over his lower lip before he looked back at Brian. It was clear on his face he didn't appreciate his brother's little public tantrum. "Don't fucking yell at them, man. I still have to live here." Those kids might be used to getting yelled at, but not by a stranger, one that was a cop even. And if it spread through the neighborhood that the cop was his brother, well.. it wouldn't be taken very well.
His eyes widened a bit when Brian pulled a piece of paper in the air. So he had heard it right. He was about the grab the paper when his brother tore it up right then and there, and before he could stop it, it was done. His jaws tensed in an attempt to keep his anger down, but really, it was hard, and even harder when Brian started to snicker. "Fucking hell. Why the fuck did you do that?! God damnit, Brian." If this was Brian's way of telling him he was not going to help, he didn't like it. He didn't like being toyed with.
He ran a hand over his face and turned his back towards his brother. If he hadn't, he was sure he would have hit Brian square in the face by now. He really shouldn't have gone to that fucking boat house to ask for help. He still didn't have a solid plan on how to get all 50 cars at the docks in less than two weeks, without getting his ass busted in the process. Some were easy to get, yes, but others.. not so much. If he was lucky, the list could have at least helped him a little bit. Now though, he felt like he had taken one step back to being royally screwed...

Wasn’t because of him, of course it was because of him, if he had just kept his god damn mouth shut, or done something, but no, he had continued playing their friend and then upped and left when things got tough. Their names had been dragged through the mud and Lee hadn’t far to run, it wasn’t his style not like the rest of them, it was his only saving grace and the only reason he wasn’t doing life like Dom. Sighing to herself she let out a breath as Jack gave her a soft squeeze and just like that she managed to cool herself, slightly, but apparently Jack was soothing the wrong person.
She had pegged O’Conner right the other day at the station, he was a hot head, and the last thing they needed was a hot head. Sighing to herself she slid from his lap and watched as Jack raced after his brother. For the next minuet she sat and listened as Brian continued to rant, with a shake of her head she stood up and headed to the door, peaking her head through it….here went nothing.
“Look er” She draw her lower lip between her teeth and shifted from Jack and then back over to Brian, with a sigh she calmed slightly at least on the outside, Jack wasn’t going to get any where with his brother.
“Im sorry I was such a bitch okay, Lee is all I have, and me and cops” Her head tipped to the side and she let out a sigh, offering him a soft smile, her dark eyes going from the bright and firey to soft, kind and welcoming.
“We don’t get along, I shouldn’t have taken it out on you” Licking her lips she looked over at Jack with a sigh, “But he’s right we cant do this alone”
