The temper tantrum that the pretty woman in front of him put on display first caught Brian by surprise and then made him uneasy. He tried to calm her down while she was placing the first call shaking his head mumbling something about. "I didn't say that. I just can't take somebody elses card. That's all." When she made a second call he started feeling cornered and called his brother for back up since Rome was still out getting breakfast. Hopefully Jack would move his ass out of bed as soon as he got the message. "You know what. I'll just send you a bill when we're done. I don't care who pays it, okay?" He shifted a little uneasy running a hand over his tired face. A few minutes later he froze when he recognised the man in the grey suit, who had entered his garage and was just pushing up his shades. His eyes darted to the locked drawer of his desk where he kept a spare gun. If Verone was here for revenge he would never get it out in time. So all he could do was stand up to him. With chills running down his back he stepped out of the office. His body language reveiled no fear. Brian raised his chin and stared at the man with cold, blue eyes. "Verone. What are you doing here?"

Carter met Brian head on his ice blue gaze locked on the man in front of him, his eyes showing mild annoyance at the fact he had been called away from work. Licking his lips his gaze flicked over to his god daughter, assessing her for a moment, she seemed fine, a little annoyed but that was nothing he wasnt used to.
"My god daughter called me O'Conner, apparently you refuse to take her card"He stated cooly, he shifted pulling out his wallet and pulled out his own black card, handing it over to the man in front of him, the man who had sent him to jail, he raised a brow.
"Im presuming you wont refuse mine"He stated folding his arms over his chest before he moved over to Carina, he gave her a smile, but hsi eyes showed just how annoyed he was at the inconvience.

Barely ever had the ex-cop been as tense as with Carter Verone standing right in front of him and staring him down. When the man reached into his jacket he involuntarily flinched and stepped back expecting to look down the barrell of a 45 the next second. Instead Verone handed him a credit card. Stunned Brian took the card and nodded. "I'll take this one." He watched the man head over to the young lady. Was it possible that he actually had become a decent person? Brian followed them into the office and mumbled. "Sorry." to the woman. He put the card through the reader and waited for the beep signalling that the transfer had been made. All the while he didn't take his eyes of his enemy or turn his back to him. When the payment was processed he handed it back. "I never expected to do business with you."

Carter turned towards Brian, retrieving the card from him, he shook his head, slipping it back into the wallet. He chuckled deeply, "Well i dont expect it to happen again"He stated, but he highly doubted this would be the last time he saw him, in fact he was counting on it, Rome after all did work here and he wanted Rome to see his competion, show him that when it came down to Nina she was just settling, but that she would never love him.
"The next time you upset my god daughter O'Conner ill come collect that money you stole from me" He assured.

It was time to play it cool. After all it was a criminal he was dealing with. Without any display of emotion on his face he answered. "There won't be a next time. And the money was illegal in the first place. It was confiscated by the Miami police department, Mr. Verone." He couldn't help a small smile crossing his lips when he remembered the car he landed on the man's yacht and the bullett he put in his shoulder. These would be good reasons to be mad, not the damn money, which Rome and him had kept as compensation for almost being killed.

Jack furrowed his brow when he listened to Brian's message. He sounded almost desperate about a tough... female customer? He let out an amused laugh and shook his head while he grabbed his car keys. Trust his brother not being able to handle himself in front of a hissy fit throwing woman.
It didn't take long before he pulled the Evo up in front of the garage, the Ferrari instantly catching his eye when he stepped out of the car, a low whistle following. Either business was moving up here or the owner of this beauty was more than terribly lost.
Heading in to the garage, he found Brian trying to look tough, a curvy and not to mention sexy looking brunette and some guy in a suit he wouldn't even be able to pay for if he saved up a years worth of income. He definitely needed a raise on his already lacking pay.
"What's going on?"

He'd been in the shower when his angel phoned, clad in just a towel around his waist when he'd listened to her fraught message. He'd been unable to stop himself from raising an eyebrow, he'd already phoned just about every reputable establishment and acknowledged to them that Carina had the authority to charge his card. Not that she didn't have her own black card but when she was using his she only took his.
The idea of another man upsetting her made the young new yorker's blood boil. The call had been made ten minutes before he'd picked it up. Foregoing his ritual of lotions and what not was a huge concession on the vain man's part, one he'd only ever made for his angel. Glancing into his wardrobe he pulled out a pair of Black Brioni slacks, a grey Lanvin silk shirt and a pair of Hermes loafers. Today was a casual day, no need for the privately tailored suits and shirts. He was spending the day with his girl not bouncing between businesses.
The shirt stuck slightly in the small of his back where he hadn't dried properly in his rush to be by her side. Shirt sleeves rolled up to display his Cartier watch and the number of tattoo's adorning his arms.
It could only have been twenty minutes later that he spotted the Buggatti Veyron and a familiar red ferrarri. Silently thanking the gods Carter had been able to get here for the precious treasure that was his girl. He hated the fact he hadn't been the first one here but he wouldn't have her on her own.
He spun the Ascari A10 onto the forecourt, only now noticing the two blonde males. Taking any type of outnumbering as a threat toward Cari he drove the car as close as he could get to the four people without actually hitting anyone. Leaping out of the vehicle as soon as it came to a stop his imposing 6'1 form is instantly between his girl and any percieved threat. Turning to her and kissing the top of her head lightly.
Taeshawn: You ok baby? i'd of gotten here sooner but i was in the shower.
Taking it in as she nodded her head and noticing Carter was stood protectively close to her. He could see annoyance in the other mans eyes and for once it wasn't aimed at him. Taeshawn inclined his head in a manner of thanking the older man for being there even though it wasn't really necessary to thank him.
Taeshawn: So where's the card Cari.
Carina: He still has it, hasn't given me yours back yet.
With a pointed look toward the blonde men Taeshawn holds out his hand glancing from the men to his empty hand.
Taeshawn: Card!

Jack's arrival made brian both happy and tense because he needed backup but didn't want his little brother in the line of fire or catching Carter's attention. He nodded at jack as if he was one of the usual employees. "Hey Jack, could you get to work right away? We need this ladies car done asap." Not that he wanted to kiss Verone's feet or give in to a hissy fit but he wanted them both out of his garage.
the arrival of another overdressed night in shining armour almost had Brian roll his eyes. who was this woman that she had all theses guys wrapped around her finger. He handed him the card. "Sorry for the inconvience but it's standard procedure. I have to check the name on the card." He only briefly looked at the man, then back at his former enemy. His mind was still processing man#s face and the name on the card. Suddenly he remembered that he had seen a picture of him during a former case. Nothing had ever been proofed though.

Carter laughed, shaking his head as he turned his gazeonto the man approaching so this was Jack O'Conner, and then Taeshawn arrived, he nodded his head, shifting out of the way so that said man could go to Carina. With his ice cold gaze turned onto Brian he smirked. he could see the discomfort on his face and it made his day, might as well make it worse for him.
"Your wife looked exquiste the other day" he complemented, the underlining threat lingering in the air without even saying anything, he could see his face pale and his day became compleate.
"pass on my regards, you owe me remember" Cartersmirked slipping his glasses back on his face, he remembered the bullet and the destroyed boat, another reason to be pissed at the man in front of him.

Brian could feel a shiver run down his soine when the criminal mention Mia. He wanted nothing more than keeping this bastard away from her. It was bad enough that he had showed up at the wedding. Brian forced himself to keep breathing steadily and not let his rage take over. Instead of shoeing the guy out and telling him to get lost he nodded. "Appreciate it. I'll pass it on." The hint that he still owed him made Brian want to run and hide or maybe just kill Verone right here and now so he wouldn't have to look over his shoulder from now on. Unfortunately he didn't have a choice. His gaze darkened. "You don't owe me unless you want to continue your career behind bars." This time it was Brian's turn to threaten the other man.

Carter laughed, shaking his head in amusment, the look that had crossed over Brians face had been unmissable, running a hand through his hair and regarded him for a moment, with a shake of his head he eyed Taeshawn and then turned back to Jack and Brian.
"That little lawyers got quite a lot of spunk on her, you should keep your eye on that one" he stated, his clear gaze sweeping back over to Brian from behind his glasses, he gave him one last gaze befor turning back to his god daughter.
"Ill see you back at home,"

Obviously Verone had been watching them if he knew Faye and what she did for a living. Brian frowned. "Stop threatening me. It's not good for you." Brian replied cockily referring to their time in Miami. When Verone turned to leave he stepped behind him. "Stay away from me and my friends, Verone, or I'll sink your ship a second time." He watched his back tense slightly. Hopefully he hadn't just pissed the guy off but also installed some fear in him. Brian was good as a cop and he had done his job in Miami well. He would do it a second time. Then he nodded towards the car and told the hot tempered woman. "Better take your car somewhere else."

Carter spun on the spot, his eyes the only thing betraying his anger towards the man in front of him "way i hear it youve got more to loose then me, your sons a real cutey pie"he stated he didnt like stooping that low with his own daughter sat at home, but Brian had ruined a lot and he'd be damned if he'd do it again.
"You should do your reserch O'Conner im a changed man, children and a good woman would do that to you, just ask your good friend Rome, he's shaked up with her after all"

Brian's eyes narrowed. The man dared to bring his son into this. But brian had seen him with a little kid on the beach. It took everthing he had not to punch his lights out right there and then. He had a hard time containing his anger. "I'm sure you are." He said through gritted teeth hoping that he would leave before Brian lost it. Crossing his arms in front of his chest he was ready to stand and wait until he was gone. But then he would jump into his car, grab Mia and Tyler andget them as far away from LA as he could.

So this was the FBI asshole that had put Carter away the first time round. Judging by the look on his face the FBI had a file on him as well. None to suprising they always had a file on anyone who made money. Taeshawn had been irritated this man had refused his baby anything.
That irritation had bled away, now although his face was cool and impassive he literally burned with the desire to hit this creature. His tone of voice left a lot to be desired when he addressed the Angel in their midst. Removing his arm from around his baby he pressed a finger to her lips knowing that latin temper of hers wanted to come to the fore.
It was a matter of pride however that he fight this battle for her. Watching the interaction between the idiot and Carter he shook his head, he almost wanted to laugh. You had to give it to the boy for trying though right? He really was trying to pretend the image infront of him didn't terrify him.
Taeshawn: You might want to watch your tone when there are ladies present. Or did your parents never teach you manners.
He could see that O'connor wanted to say something, obviously recognising Taeshawn. The muscled well dressed man didn't sweat it though. Right now men like him and Carter were employing to many people in their legitimate businesses. Not to mention they were currently in the middle of business negotiations in the middle east with regards to oil. Right now petty law enforcement might want to put them away but no politician would hear of it.
Taeshawn had no record and was the paragon of the poor young boy made good. The current poster boy for the american dream. Internationally reknown diamond dealer with too much political clout to be anything other than untouchable.
Taeshawn: I'm pretty sure if my Angel here has to take her car some place else then you need to refund Mr Verone's card.
He stressed the Mr Verone, as though making it apparent that Brian was by no means good enough to be considered on the same footing as either of them.
Taeshawn: I believe it counts as theft otherwise, although from what i hear that won't be a new one to your rap sheet. Might interest child services though.

The intimadating words at the end of his speech didn't impress Brian at the least. He knew very well that nobody would send child services. But the attitude both men were putting on display, not even speaking of the arogant woman, really pissed him off. "I'll cancel the payment right away, don't worry." Brian growled and stared him down. Of course he was aware he was walking on thin ice but criminals didn't have it easy intimidating him. He'd seen too many of them, put too many of them away and called too many of them his friends. truth be told Brian had turned into one even though he'd always gotten off the hook some way or another.

Jack let out an exaggeratedly audible sigh from where he was standing, his arms crossed over his chest as he leaned against a stack of tires. The 'order' from Brian to go to work had been ignored right from the get go, but what else was new. Half the time he didn't even know why Brian still bothered to try and boss him around. His brother really should know better by now.
His eyes shifted between the four. He had kept his mouth shut so far, mainly for the sake of what tended to come out of it rather than anything else, but this was getting pathetic if not extremely annoying. It was like watching little kids at the playground, crying on who was cooler.
"Are we gonna stand here, having a pissing contest all day, or what? Shit, I don't care who you are or how rich you are. If you're gonna make a move, make a move. If not, take your damn money, your car and fuck off. Simple as that." He shot them a sarcastic smile before he turned around toward the office to go grab the keys belonging to the expensive wreck once called a car. This was going to be the last and only time he was coming to work early for something like this.

Carter turned his ice blue gaze away from the man in front of him to the brother at his side, he shot him a smooth easy smile, if only the yonger man had any idea of the plans he had for him, or better yet the plans he had for his pretty little lawyer, chuckling he shook his head and shot both Carina and Tawshawn a smile, no point in getting into a 'pissing contest' as Jack had so kindly put it, the whole point of Carter being back in town was to freak Brian out to make him all to aware of the fact that Carter was back in town, make him wait and wonder just when he was comeing for him,
With a movment that was more then subtle, he shifted his jacket, revleaing the custom 9mm, tucked in his holster, before it fell back, it looked like mearly an accident that the jacket had even before moved as in the next moment he was pulling out his wallet and handed Carina her own card. "Dont call me again, im busy all morning" He stated his voice was cool as he shot her an annoyaed glance, then his gaze turned back to Brian.
"Pleasure doing buissness with you Mr O'Conner i look forward to doing it again" He smirked and turned on his heel.

brian wasn't surprise to see a gun under Verone's jacket. He had expected it. Neither was he surprised that the man made a smooth exit. Obviously he wanted to intimidate him. It worked. When he was gone and the adrenalin of meeting a guy who easily could be Braga's competition wore off he was ready to jump in his car and head, home, grab Mia and Tyler and run. Instead he grabbed his brother by his arm. "Do you know who this is?" He pointed at the door. "That's Carter Verone. He's dangerous. Don't ever fuck with him. I made that mistake. Don't you make it as well."
