(Set right after destruction)
Setting his empty bottle down on the hard wood counter in front of him, Daniel turned his attention on the young man sitting on the bar stool next to him, nursing a barely touched beer. Bruises littered the kid's face, a few cuts here and there while a make shift ice pack was meant to provide at least some relive, though Daniel doubted it did any good. He'd only witnessed the last part of the fight between the O'Conner brothers, much to his dismay, but no closer look was needed to see that it wasn't just the oldest O'Conner who'd received a harsh beating.
"Are you going to drink that, or just stare at it until it evaporates? Come on, cheer up, kid." He finally said, snapping his fingers in front of the dazed eyes of the younger O'Conner in hopes of getting a live reaction. He didn't care much for self pity, it wasn't what he was here for or why he had offered to buy the disheveled kid a beer in the first place.

Jack stared absentmindedly at the bottle in front of him while he held a towel full of ice in place on one of his still darkening bruises. The cold of it did nothing but enhance his headache, yet he still kept it pressed against his skin to at least feel something other than guilt. His conscious toward his actions hadn't been that hard to keep at bay while he was still enraged and doused in alcohol, but shit was more than different now that both were wearing off. Fuck, he had messed up.
He blinked when fingers snapped in front of his face, the words coming from the guy he didn't even know up until today causing him to furrow his brow. Why the hell had he even agreed to this when he could be at home, if he'd even make it there in one piece, and drown out this bullshit with Vodka, or anything else that contained a respectable amount of alcohol, like he'd been doing all last night and this morning.
"Yeah sure, cheer up. You do realize my girlfriend left me, I'm out of a job and most likely out of a brother, too. Fuck cheering up, man." He mumbled, finally bringing the beer bottle to his lips while he suppressed a wince when the now almost lukewarm brew bit at his busted lip.

"No one ever said life was a picnic, kid. You win some, you loose some." Daniel said calmly, his hand raising up to the bar tender, signaling for two more beers before he turned his full attention back on the younger O'Conner.
"Either way, I can't help you with your brother or your girlfriend, but if you're interested.." He paused, reaching a hand inside his jacket and pulled out a card. The small piece of paper was placed on the hard wood counter and pushed toward the younger O'Conner with his index finger. "I've got a proposition for you. It pays 1500 upfront and 1500 after, easiest money you'll ever get. The only thing you need to do is drive a car from A to B for an associate of mine." He said as he tapped his finger on the card. "That's his number."
Daniel watched the younger one, waiting for a reaction. Of course such an amount of money for the simple task would raise questions, he'd be surprised if it didn't, but he already knew from files that this kid wasn't one to shy away from easy opportunity. It was a character trade Daniel was more than willing to exploit.

Jack had been ready to decline the proposition, but only up until the point where the 3 grand came in to the picture. He lowered the icepack, looking at the card that had been pushed toward him while he listened. It was easy money if all he had to was simply drive a car from one destination to another. Too easy maybe. Probably.
"What's in the car?" He mumbled, draining the last of his beer just as their second one arrived. He was interested, damn interested, even though he knew he most likely shouldn't be. But what was another addition to his long list of fuck-ups and bad decisions nowadays anyway? Why should he even start giving a damn now. He could just let the alcohol cloud his better judgment and make a few bucks off of it while he was at it, couldn't he.
"You know what. I don't even care. I can use the money and the less I know, the better, right?"

"I like your attitude, kid. But don't worry it's nothing like that." Daniel chuckled, a sly smile pulling on the corners of his mouth. He couldn't risk to have this kid transport something of real value. Not yet. This was simply a small test to see how easy the youngster could be corrupted to become a pawn in Verone's game. Today had already proven Jack was a loose canon at best when given the right incentive, even toward his own blood.
"Just give this guy a call. He'll give you the whats and the whens. If you don't like it then, I'd say nothing gained, nothing lost." He said with a nod toward the card still lying on the counter. There was no reason to push what didn't need pushing. The younger O'Conner had already practically agreed to the job without even hearing all the terms and this one would only be the beginning. Easy money bred greed after all. It was one of the reason why Daniel himself did what he did.

Jack nodded slightly while he grabbed the card, squinting his eyes when he held it up to their level. He couldn't actually read the digits properly in this half drunk, half headache induced state, but he could at least pretend he was and show interest. 3 Grand could be a start if he decided to pay back the damage he'd caused at the garage, that was, if his brother would ever talk to him again after the unintended attempt at murder.
"I guess the guy just really wants his car back than, huh?" He mumbled, once again pushing back his gnawing better judgment on the matter while he shoved the card in to his pocket. He'd already made his decision. He was gonna call this guy and take the job. Money was money after all and he did always tended to be seriously lacking in that department. Even when he was working at the garage. Cheapskate Brian.
"Either way. Thanks, man. I'll call him later.." He mumbled while he stood, his hand reaching up to his head when another flash of pain shot through his brain. "..,When I've sobered up a bit." He added in a groan before he turned and headed toward the exit in a surprisingly straight line despite his throbbing headache. He really should get his ass home and indulge himself in painkillers.

"Don't mention it, kid. Just don't get yourself killed over some woman, hm?" Daniel said, finishing his beer while he watched the younger O'Conner stand.
Not long after the kid left, Daniel soon stood himself, slapping some money on the hardwood counter. Step one had been easy, but now he could only hope Jack would go through with it before he ever came to his senses. Or before big brother could get a waft of it, but he doubted that would happen any time soon.
