“Yes, it was a good thing we rescued him. I just wonder if he´ll ever change…” Jack placed them all in serious danger and they made it through, it was a close call that day at the docks, it scared her to know similar events could happen again now that Stephano was dead. She hoped she was wrong.
She chuckled when she noticed his embarrassed smile “No, not at all. Dom´s no saint either… but doesn’t that include us too in that list? I mean after all we saved their butts from this pretty bad situations, all the running around and the hiding…”

Mia was perfectly right about Jack. he would never learn. "He won't change!" Brian confirmed with a grim expression. "He'll get one of us killed one day.Sad but true." He had given up on trying to change his brother because it was completely useless. "The only option is to stay away from him. I don't even have the energy to be mad at him even though he deserves it."
Did the list of 'bad people' include them? "Maybe me but you always just get dragged into the mess by us all. If we didn't have you we'd all be insane or behind bars right now." Brian chuckled a little to join her happier mood.
Their plates filled with steaming eggs, toast and some coffee arrived. It instantly made Brian's mouth , who had forgotten to have dinner the night before, water. "Thanks." Waiting for Mia to pick up her fork he gave her another smile and then started eating. The eggs were perfect, still soft with a hint of salt. After a few delicious bites he looked at her again. "What would you do if you didn't have to run and hide..if you could simply live the life of your choice?" It was actually a question he had never asked himself.

"Maybe if Jack had a family of his own, that´ll make him change, but I doubt it," As people got older their way of thinking change and their actions too, but Jack was so different from Brian, still that didn´t mean he would never change or at least try.
She laughed. “Wow, insane? Probably, but behind bars? No, I don’t think so,” the aroma of bacon and eggs filled her nostrils as the waitress placed their plates down.“Thanks,” she told the waitress and started eating and drinking some of her coffee.
She stopped eating for a moment and thought about his question. “That´s a really good question,” and it was, she place a piece of bacon in her mouth. “Hmm...” she said trying to come up with an answer. “I would probably be living at home or had a home of my own, working like crazy, and maybe married. “ A life like any normal person on earth, with a kid or two, enjoying and not to worry about running from the law and place her children at risk.

"Jack will never have a family." Nothing was more sure than that for Brian. Any woman wanting that with his brother would be insane and Jack would never be tied down like that. What would be the ideal life for Brian would be the worst for the other O'Conner. How different they were.
Brian watched her bite into a crunchy piece of bacon and think about his question. Before she answered he already knew what her answer would be and when she did he couldn't help the smirk creaping up on her face. "Isn't that every girls dream?" He picked up some bacon as well and ate it. "Maybe not Lettys." He added while he chewed. Then he pointed something important out. "You'd need a guy for that and I haven't seen you dating...ever. Nobody but me." Brian became a little more serious. Would that be an option? One day? His feelings didn't allow him to think that way right now. "Yeah, that would be something but if I had to choose, I'd have a trailor on the beach and hang out there all day long and race at night..." That was crap of course. Once again a wave of sadness overcame him because his true wish was much simpler. To be with his kids.

She giggled “Yeah…” wasn’t that a guy´s dream too? Get married someday and have a family and stop racing? A small smile appeared on her lips. “Dating, she sighed as she said the word. “I would need a person who didn’t complain and that is willing to run from the law, it´s hard to find somebody like that,” she wasn’t the kind of person to be all desperate to find a guy that loved her.
She still didn’t know how Brian did it back then, after the whole betrayal and when he came back, she was expecting Dom to oppose but he never said a word to her, maybe because 5, 6 years went by and his way of thinking was different than when they were teenagers.
“The beach sounds like the perfect place to be and racing… I´d never thought I´d say this but I miss racing…” If Dom knew about her racing, he would kill her and would give her a two hour long speech, she was always the spectator, supporting Dom but for her to be behind the wheel, that was total different thing.

Brian knew just the right guy who would not complain fro one second and was already running from the law anyway. He smiled a little to himself. "That's hard to find." Obviously the whole relationship thing didn't work out for him either since the person he was with didn't appreciate running from the law.
When Mia told him that the beach would be perfect he nodded. "Come join me, this is your official invitation to my beach trailor when I have it." An idea was forming in his head. Maybe living a peaceful live was possible after all. Maybe somewhere up north on an empty stretch of sand or maybe down in Mexico. "You miss racing? Really?" Brian was aware that Mia was occasionally racing but he simply thought it were the circumstance that got her to race, not so much the passion. "Has it finally rubbed off on you?"
Blowing some clouds of steam off his coffee Brian took a few sips and then ate the rest of his bacon. Slowly he was feeling better. "Why don't you come to the races with me one night? Or we could go and watch a legal one. There's one at Thunderhill this week. You could also take a few spins around the track yourself. This way you don't end up in cuffs." He crossed his wrists symbolically and smiled at her.

She listen to him invite her to that beach trailer once he had it. Even if he never got what he wished for, a simple walk at the beach would make it “Good, ” Mia took a small piece of the eggs and bacon and placed it in her mouth. This was delicious.
“I do miss the racing, maybe with not so much of a passion as you or Dom, but I grew up with the boys and is a part of me too, even if I am not the best racer at all or even if I get behind the wheel occasionally,” the times she raced, more like a few was the first to second month Dom wasn’t with her but in jail and also when she got out of her first date with Brian, what was the name of that restaurant? Oh yeah, Cha Cha Cha.
She chuckle as he mimic handcuffs around his wrist. “You´re on,” she accepted his invitation to watch and experience a race again.

While he listened to Mia explain about her passion for racing Brian continued to eat his breakfast before it got cold. "You're actually pretty good behind the wheel, you just need more practise and less brains...it's all about shutting all other thoughts out and focus on the stretch ahead. I think you need to be a little less considerate than you are to actually win." It was true. You couldn't worry about other people's property, good manners or hurt feelings when it came to racing. Mia was a very kind, polite person and would most likely not step over others to cross that finish line first. There was a certain recklessness necessary that she lacked.
"You're on." She said with that gleam in her eye that was hard to miss. So Brian nodded. "It's a date then, a race date. Now I only need to get myself a decent set of wheels...legally." How would he actually acquire a car with as little cash as he had right now. The only way to make money fast or even win a car was at the illegal races at night. The idea to join one almost made him smile. The races were something that would always get him in a better mood.
"Are you going to finish that?" Brian asked the pretty brunette when his plate was empty but hers still half full.

“I guess I should try,” it wasn’t like her but Brian was right, she couldn’t worry about other things other than to win the race. Would it be easy? Maybe not, but if she really wanted to win, she had to change that, to place herself in Dom or even Brian´s shoes was something she never did racing wise, it sounded like fun too, to bring to the surface that side of her buried deep within her kindness.
“Awesome,” she felt like a little kid being reward. She couldn’t wait to be out there and feel the adrenaline rush. “Oh,” she looked down at her plate; she still had some food left. “I´m full. Eat it, it´s all yours,” she lowly pushed the plate to him.
She looked out the window of the small restaurant, it was going to be a bit of a challenge to see her doing what Brian suggested, her hands lifted the cup of hot coffee finding it much more tasty as she took the last sip, placing the empty cup on the table, the slight smile never leaving her lips.

It seemed like Mia was pretty keen on getting behind the wheel and why the heck not. After all she was a Toretto. Brian watched her gaze wander out the window while he thoughts seemed to drift outside as well. She was a little lost in thoughts but it was nice to see her smile for a change. That curl of her lips put him in a better mood as well. Taking her up on her offer Brian pulled her half full plate towards him and finished what she hadn't eaten. Finally he felt satisfied and leaned back with a sigh. "Getting a decent set of wheels with little to no cash will be a challenge. " He though out loud while putting his hands behind his head. For a while he followed her gaze and then let her know. "I don't know what I'd do without you right now. Go crazy?" He chuckled a little but then flagged the waitress down to pay.
As the young woman hurried over to them he asked her for the bill.

There was no way they could find that money in a week, It would take him a lot of time for him to have the kind of money that was needed to purchase a new set of wheels. She wasn’t a fan of illegal stuff, but at the same time she was getting used to.
“The only way for you to get that set of new wheels is racing… illegally, forget the legal races and let´s go to get that money...” What the heck could go wrong? He was one of the best drivers besides Dom, plus they already knew how the whole illegal race worked.
“Someone was hungry, “ She pointed out as she saw the empty plate, the way he leaned back on his seat told her he was full. Her smile became wider when he mentioned he didn’t know what he´d do without her. “Go crazy? I´d say beyond crazy,” she chuckled as he called the waitress.

"Call me weird but illegal doesn't sound very appealing right now." He frowned slightly at the thought of their highly illegal trip to mexico and the fright the brought back just to make it go up in flames at the harbor. "I don't even know whether our faces are plastered all over police stations or not." It was really uncharacteristic for Brian to care so little about this small detail. After all it could, once again, mean jail time. "I guess I should call Hobbs and find out." Of course that was the last thing he wanted to do right. What would he say to the man, whose daughter had just broken his heart twice, tripple....
Brian placed one of the last dollar bills, which he pulled from his pocket, on the table next to the small folder with the bill. Why carry a wallett if there's nothing in it. "Ready to leave?" He asked without any real idea where they'd be going or whether their ways would part now.

“I totally forgot about that small detail,” Mia rubbed her temples, was Mexico looking for them? Did they even saw their faces? They couldn’t risk their freedom.
When he said he should call Hobbs, she clearly heard his discomfort; of course it was the last thing he wanted to do, after all the crap he went through with Mira, and to make a phone call to her father? Plus, last time he called Hobbs both men ended up yelling on the phone.
She saw him place the last dollar on the table and she stood up. “Yeah, let´s go.” Not knowing where they were going. She looked at Brian and smile at him. “Thank you for the food,” she waited for him and slowly made their way out of the restaurant into the California heat that didn’t seem so bad since a few hours ago.

Outside the heat made Brian break out in sweat almost instantly after being inside the ariconditioned restaurant for almost an hour. Together they walked over to Coles BMW. Brian held the door open for Mia and waited until she got in before taking a seat next to her and starting the engine. The German car purred like a big dangerous cat, the big kind. It was surely a fun car to drive and on the right track could take home some wins, maybe even a pink slip.
"Would you like me to drop you off back home now?" Brian asked while rolling his head over to look at the pretty brunette by his side.

Mia waited for him to open the door of the car for her. She got in and he closed it moving to the driver´s side. The sound of the BMW felt just like home.
She wasn’t ready to go home, but where could they go and with this weather? She turned to see him and nodded at his question with a slight smile. “Yes, please.” Her gaze was now focused to the street in front of her where a few cars went by.
She was happy to be back home, not forgetting about Mexico, not really knowing what was going on over there, but right now it wasn’t the time to stress. On a happier note, she looked forward to that race night. They´d find a way to get there… with or without money in their pockets.

"Alright." Brian nodded before he turned onto the main road leading back towards the Toretto home. For years he had know the streets around Mia and Dom's home like the back of his own hand. It had become more of a home to him than any other place he ever lived at himself. So he understood why Mia wanted to go back there. After all it was her familys.
The drive was pretty quiet but before they arrived back Brian stated. "Thanks for having breakfast with me. I appreciate your open ear." Truth was he simply enjoyed her company. The fact that she was willing to listen to him was just a bonus. "Give me a call when you want to repeat that."
Soon the BMW pulled up in front of the old wooden house with the small garage next to it, that usually shielded Dom's charger from eager views. Brian killed the engine and turned his head towards Mia offering her a smile. "Are you going to call?"

She made herself comfortable once he started to drive towards her house. Even with closed eyes she knew how many steps it took to get there.
Mia enjoyed the silence rather than feeling awkward next to Brian. “Thank you for inviting me,” her eyes turned to the road and nodded to his words, he didn’t need to ask. He was the first person she would call.
She was getting ready to get out of the car but stopped as Brian looked at her. Mia chuckled, for some reason the way he said it, sounding like a teenage boy. “Yes.” she eyed her house from inside the car, turning to look at Brian one last time.
“Take care,” offering a smile as she got out of the car into the burning sun, her footsteps slowly with no hurry to get inside her small house, despite what Brian was going through, she had a blast with him and that smile on her thin lips getting wider with every step she took it proved it.
OOC: Welcome back.

With a slight smile on his face Brian watched her walk to the house and then drove off. As soon as Mia's gone reality got a stong hold of him again though. Needless to say that the next days, hang on weeks, were a struggle. From time to time Brian got to see the babies but things between him and Mira didn't warm up. So he finally decided to not let it get to him that much anymore and make the best of it.
At least there was no outstanding warrant on his head so he could look for an apartment, which he found pretty far in the north and finally borrow the money for what could easily be described as a disgrace but at least the old Chevy had wheels and got Brian from A to B.
B, in this case was a supermarket near Mia's place. Not that he had been following her around but Brian planned to stop by...not empty handed. Instead of having to stop by he spotted her down the isle in that vert market and sneaked up on the dark haired woman. "You never gave me that call." He more or less attacked her holding a bottle of ginger ale and a bag of potatoes.

Two months went by and for some reason (although she couldn´t find one reason or an excuse) she never called Brian. She stood in front of the vegetable aisle struggling what she should take. Finally, she took a couple of cucumbers and a lettuce but gasped and dropped them as she heard a voice behind her only when what she had in her hands hit the floor she recognized Brian´s voice. Taking a deep breath to decrease her heart rate, she knelt down to pick them off the ground. "Sorry about that I- I got so busy fixing things back at the house," she sighed realizing how lame that sounded. "Honestly, I don´t know why I didn´t call you. Let me make it up to you. How about you help me with dinner tonight?" she placed the items in the little shopping cart and look at him waiting for his answer. “…and maybe go to a race too? At least to watch. I can use a racing-driving lesson, maybe more than one lesson when it comes to that…” cringing a little as she said the last sentence, she never thought she had to take lessons, but the truth was that driving/competing in a race was so different than to drive to the grocery store. A race required far more things than just follow some traffic lights.

It was pretty amusing to see the raven haired beauty jump like a little rabbit and drop all her veggies. So Brian chuckled and helped her pick it up. "Sorry, didn't think you're so jumpy!" Why she didn't call remained to be see but right now seeing her face and talking to her was pretty darn good. An offer to eat together even better. Eyeing her cucmuber and lettuce he remarked. "Not sure that our stuff matches. Plus what kind of a deal is that? To make up for not calling me I get to do your work?" He nudged her gently to let her know he was just kidding before he said a little more serious. "It's good to see you. I was hoping you'd invite me in."
When she added that she wanted to go to a race Brian raised his brows. "I think watching is all we can do. You'll know what I mean when you get out in the parking lot." His car was ridiculously slow and a total disgrace. Getting from A to B was most definetly all it was good for.
Together they walked down the ailes picking up more groceries. "How have you been?" He asked casually.
