She didn’t know what time it was, the only thing she cared was that it was Sunday and that Brian was next to her. Far away she could hear noises, but didn´t wake up immediately, maybe she was dreaming. Someone sat on the bed next to her, as the strong scent of coffee filled her nostrils. She slowly opened her eyes recognizing who was talking to her “Good morning,” she chuckled, her voice was still groggy. “Don´t mention the word ´work´, not when it´s Sunday,” she wasn’t looking forward to work the next day.
Mia rubbed the sleep off her eyes but stayed in bed for a little more. “What time is it?” she was the first one to be up and in the kitchen either making coffee or breakfast but she was tired after helping Brian in small things outside on the patio, and then their trip to the beach, the swimming. For a moment, she wondered why she felt so cold, it wasn´t until she noticed only a towel around her body.
She sat on the bed and took the cup of hot coffee from the night side table tasting the brown liquid letting it warm her throat, placing the cup again on the little table she turned to see him. “Delicious,” she smiled giving him a quick kiss.

With a glance at his watch Brian told her "9.30 am. I think we got our beauty sleep." Once she approved of his coffee he took a sip from her cup, then laid back down next to her running his thumb up and down her skin. Tiny little goose bumps where forming under his touch. "Any plans for today? Any more roofs to fix or maybe a new swimming pool in the back?"
Brian had deliberately not checked his phone because there would most likely be a message from Mira about their earlier discussion...or not. Who cared as long as the kids were fine and if they weren't she would have called.
Here was in the here and now finally with somebody who appreciated him. "Maybe we should just lay in bed all day long?" He rolled his head over to watch her reaction.
OOC: Stuck, sorry

She propped up on her elbow facing him; her long hair fell over her exposed shoulder bringing some warm to her skin. “No, the far away we stay from fixing roofs, chainsaws and the sun the better,” looking at the tiny cuts on her fingers, she must have lost the band aids when they entered the sea. “I think we have enough injuries for us to go back and try to look for more,”
They always had plans but today was different; she smiled when he suggested for them to lie in bed all day long. “Sounds like a plan to me,” bringing her lips closer to his, she wanted to tease him but at the end fail loosing herself in his perfect mouth.
Their moment didn’t last, as she heard knocking on the door downstairs. She broke the kiss but frown. “It´s not like Dom to knock on doors…” she reluctantly got up and quickly changed, placing an oversized t-shirt and some denim shorts. But if Dom wasn´t the one knocking...who was it then? Would it be Sam? No, she hadn´t heard from him in over two months. Cole? Jack? Mira?

As soon as Brian heard the knock on the door he was up in arms...or a pair of boxers. Scrambling off the bed he asked Mia. "Are you expecting anyone?" Surely Dom wouldn't knock. Of course Brian knew that he was overreacting by assuming the worst but experience had prooved him right over the past months. Would it be too much to ask for Dom's gun?\ On quiet soles he made his way downstairs with Mia protected behind him to have a look who was at the door. Stepping into the living room from where he could get a look at the street he nodded at Mia to answer the door. There weren't any suspicious vehicles in the street. "Go ahead."

“No, I am not expecting anyone…” she didn’t bother to place some sandals and walked barefoot quietly downstairs, every step got her closer to the door, she was nervous to know who might be at the other side. She looked at Brian and waited for him to give him any signal to go ahead and open the door, when he did she opened it.
A woman around her same age with short hair up in a bun greeted her. “Hi…” she didn’t know who this woman was or what she wanted, she looked at her from head to toe, and this woman was well dress. Black ankle boots and pants, green blouse, minimum makeup, what did she noticed was a gun resting around her waist, and some badge hanging from her necklace. A cop? What the hell was a cop was doing in her house on a Sunday morning? Did she come here to ask for Dom? Mia still had no clue. “How may I help you, officer?”

Doing your homework always paid. At least, for Monica it did. In the couple of years that had passed since shes seen one Brian O'Conner, he'd been a busy man indeed. In and out of scrapes, he had developed a reputation for being a wild card and someone who would call his own shots, even if it meant spending time in jail or bucking the system.
Turned out, that brand of insanity must run in the family because his younger brother was definitely a chip off the old block. Only, a bit more reckless it seemed.
Now, standing outside the door of where her intel said O'Conner currently was, Monica could only guess at what his reaction would be to seeing her again. Although they'd parted ways amicably, she had no doubt this would be a bit awkward for both of them. She knew all about Mia Torretto having read the files and she couldn't help but think the woman was a lucky girl. While her world revolved around her work, she knew well what it was to be the focus of the tawny haired Adonis's attention and she wouldn't be female if she didn't feel a wee pang of jealousy towards the raven haired beauty.
She was only human, after all.
That feeling increased just a bit as the door swung open and she came face to face with the woman who she suspected had never been far from Brian's thoughts. Pasting on a smile, Monica gave her a nod and then spoke. "Hello. I'm looking for Brian O'Conner. You might say I'm an old friend of his and I'm needing to speak with him on a matter that involves his brother."

From his position in the living room Brian's couldn't see the person at the door but Mia's 'How can I help you, OFFICER?' made all alarm bells go off at once. Instantly Brian tensed up and listened intently to whatever the cop wanted. Was he here for him or Dom? No matter who it simply couldn't be good. Brian was ready to dash out the back door but knew well enough that if they wanted to arrest him there'd be a second cop positioned at the back door. The voice, who answered Mia's question, belonged to a female and sounded vaguely familiar. Unfortunately Brian couldn't place her right away. 'old friend'...who might that be? Maybe Trinh? She sounded different though. Brian wrecked his brain for a few more seconds before he finally could add a face to the voice. A really pretty face actually. Stepping out of his hiding spot in the living room he came to the door and checked whether the woman there was really his former partner. "Monica." He stated the obvious. "What are you doing here?" This question was actually much more interesting. He couldn't help but smile at her remembering their time in Miami. Fuentes was one heck of a hot, sassy chick. Hands down the most attractive police officer that Florida had to offer.

So… he knew her? His voice followed by a smile. How well did he really know this Monica girl? What was this… something she was feeling within, a little complicated to explain. Jeal-? No! No, she wasn´t a– but this woman... She folded her arms over her chest, not saying a word just trying to read in between the looks they were giving each other. Brian saw her as an old friend but Monica´s gaze was not so “innocent” as Brian´s. Oh boy, Mia was jealous!
“Jack? What did Jack do this time?” trying to change the subject noticing how the officer looks hadn’t leave his face for a second, this girl was stepping on dangerous territory…
Because she was an officer, she didn’t have a single doubt that Monica knew who Mia was, who her brother was, and what type of relationship Mia had with Brian… The “old friend” as Monica described didn’t convinced Mia at all, more like old little bi--, she cleared her throat, the atmosphere felt awkward. Some sort of tension could be felt in the air…

Chuckling a bit at Brian's look and smile, Monica arched a playful brow at him before Mia broke into the mix. Her gaze immediately went to the dark haired beauty and read her expression right. Inwardly, she rolled her eyes and her sardonic side wanted to tell her to relax and that she wasn't here after her man. That, however, would have required acknowledging the woman's manner and Fuentes was much to good of a poker player to give all her cards away in the first volley. Brian was still sexy as hell but he'd chosed his path and she'd chosen hers. Her career still meant more to her than a roll in the sheets with a man who tempted her to break every rule in the book.
"Good Morning, O'Conner." she finally said, slanting her gaze back to the man in question even as she tilted her head. "I'm sorry to bother you this early in the morning but I have a problem and I"m hoping you can help me solve it. Your brother has recently become involved in something that is way above his pay grade I fear and in order ot keep him alive....."
Letting her voice trail off at that, Monica let Brian draw his own conclusions before continuing. "Its by no fault of his own this time, however." she said, looking back at Mia, sensing that the other woman had her own feelings about Jack. "He and his girlfriend simply landed in the middle of an investigation gone bad. I"m here to try to help them out of it."

The way Mia folded her arms over her chest told Brian a whole lot and it wasn't good. She was seizing Monica up, which almost made Brian chuckle. Two hot chicks, that he'd been in a relationship with face to face. This could be good...or very uncomfortable.
At least she was calling him by his last name staying professional. That things would be more than uncomfortable was clear when Fuentes mentioned Jack name and further explained that he had ONCE AGAIN gotten involved in some trouble. Had his gun shot wound even healed yet? A deep frown showed up on Brian's face when he listened to her. Any other cop he would have sent away but Monica could actually be useful. So he asked her. "You know a whole lot about my brother...who exactly are you working for right now?" Brian asked and then stepped away from the door. "Do you want to come inside?" Without asking Mia's permission he invited the Latina.
At the small table in the kitchen Brian sat down and ran his hand over his messy hair. He hadn't even bothered to put on a shirt, which might have been a good idea. Jack was on his mind though and as much as he hated him and as little as his brother cared about Brian, he couldn't let him down. "You know a whole lot of stuff about Jack, you probably also know that I have no idea where he is...most likely in mexico with his feet in the sand and a cocktail in his hand because his mugshot is all over local police stations. It wouldn't be smart for him to hang around LA, would it?"
Brian cast a side glance at Mia, who didn't look happy at all. There would be some explaining to do.

Glancing at the other woman once more when Brian invited her in, Monica arched a brow, wondering if O'Conner was brave or just stupid. It was a quandary he'd always posed to her, she thought inwardly as she stepped in and found her way to the small table in the kitchen. Watching Brian sit down, she tilted her head and then took a seat herself, placing a big manilla envelope on the surface between them.
"Right now, its not smart for him to be anywhere." she told the man, blunt as usual. "Three weeks ago, the FBI led a raid on several known businesses belong to a local mafia. They were hunting for evidence that could tie a few of the more powerful families together and prove that they funneled money through those businesses. One of the front men was seen in a strip club and it was suspected that he was to pass along a vital data device that would be key in that endeavor. Unfortunately, he was tipped off before hand and managed to get rid of it. They weren't sure where it went until recently."
Letting that all sink in, Monica glanced once more to Mia before continuing.
"Its our belief that your brothers girlfriend proved to be the missing link. We think the man ditched the usb device on her and then submitted to a federal search. The young woman walked out with critical information and probably never knew it. Our radars pinged when said woman went missing and so did your brother. Either, shes already dead or they are on the run. Have they contacted you at all?"

"Right now, its not smart for him to be anywhere." He heard Monica say and couldn't agree more. Unfortunately he knew for a fact that his younger sibling wasn't that smart. On the contrary. he seemed to have a certain liking for trouble.
As he listened to her explain what Jack had gotten himself into now his frown grew deaper and he couldn't help but get up and start pacing the floor, tyring to put the puzzle together in his mind. The only reason he could think of was that the girl had gotten him involved.
"I've heard about that raid." Brian let her know but neglected to add the fact that Mia's mafia uncle took a hard fall mostly thanks to Brian and his involvement. "Why am I not surprised when you tell me that a girl got Jack in trouble? isn't that always the case? Do you have a name?"
When Monica asked Brian whether Jack had contacted him he thought about it for a moment but knew what the answer had to be. "No." It was actually true that he hadn't seen Jack since he told him to get the hell out of his life. "Not since he told me to stay the fuck away from him." A brief glance at Mia and he was sure she wouldn't say anything else. Brian knew that she had his back no matter what.
Then he looked back at Monica. The woman hadn't changed much, her behaviour had become a little more routine though. "Do you have a warrant against my brother?" Brian wanted to know. "...or his girlfriend?" His eyes narrowed slightly letting his ex know that she couldn't play games with him because he knew how the game worked.

She took a seat looking at the envelope, hearing what the cop was saying to Brian about his brother. The mafia also made its way into the conversation but there was nothing for her to say. The last thing she looked forward to was to get in trouble with the law because of whom she decided to get involve with and for what? To take his brother out of jail... After all this months and still the police weren´t knocking at her door looking for her brother but Brian´s.
"I've heard about that raid." Brian let her know but neglected to add the fact that Mia's mafia uncle took a hard fall mostly thanks to Brian and his involvement.
Mia´s gaze switched from the envelope to Brian, controlling perfectly her gestures not giving away that she knew this mafia Brian talked about, not giving away anything... she had his back same as his. When he questioned Monica about the warrant she couldn´t removed the smirk that made its way to her lips. It was quite entertaining seeing Monica getting nowhere, she had to drive all the way here to just end up going to where she came from and without answers...

Smirking a bit, having gotten the exact reply she'd been expecting, Monica arched a brow at Brian and remained quiet for a long moment. Some things never changed it seemed. Problem was, Monica already had answers but what she needed was his cooperation.
"Look, O'Conner. We can sit here, tap dancing around the issue all day or we can get right to the point." she finally said, lacing her fingers together and leaning forward over the table. "Your brother has gotten himself into something that is way above his pay grade. This could go international and then shit is really going to hit the fan." she told him, narrowing her gaze, all playfulness gone. "Now, you can either help me pull his ass out of the fire or you can bury him. Which would you like it to be? Because once I walk out that door? This deal is off the table and it will be as if I was never here. The only reason I'm here is to repay a favor."

Monica had done her homework. She had always been a good cop and the years of working undercover had probably worked in her favor but Brian wasn't about to just give everything up. So he leaned back and crossed his arms over his chest. "Bury him." Brian suddenly stated very dryly with a cold gaze that could have scared anybody who didn't know the ex-cop. Then he leaned forward to place his elbows on the table. "My brother has fucked up so many times I can't count them anymore and he's recently decided he doesn't want anything to do with me anymore." It was the truth even though it hurt. If Jack had gotten himself into trouble AGAIN Brian would not do a damn thing to help the idiot out. He would not sell him out either though.
"Plus Monica, you should know I know how to play this game. You only come to me because you're desperate to find him, which you apparently can't by yourself. Nothing's off that easily...plus what deal are you talking about? Cause as long as neither me or my brother are being accused of anything we don't need no deal, right?" He cocked his head to the side willing her to spill the beans.

Narrowing her gaze at Brian, Monica gave him a cold smile. His words might be true but this was, in fact, a courtesy call. She'd wanted to do this the friendly way but if he wanted to play hard ball, so be it. She could do it that way too.
But first, she'd let him stew for a bit and think things over.
"Your right, O'Conner. I haven't been able to find him." She replied easily. "But for your sake and his, both, you better pray that the others haven't been able to either."
Then, abruptly getting to her feet, the agent pushed the enveloped back over to him, leaning over the table a bit as she met his gaze. When she spoke again, her tone was all business and lacking any of the friendly comradory of before. "And I mean it when I say that the next time you see your brother, it will be to bury him in all likely hood. If your serious about not helping him and are content to see that happen..Well,I suppose thats your right. However, I still believe theres a decent man in there somewhere and if your half the man I always thought you were... You won't let that happen."
Pushed back up, she cast a look at Mia before reaching for her shades and stepping back towards the door. As a parting shot, she shot a look back at Brian even as she slide the dark lenses over her eyes and reached for the door handle. "My numbers in the file. I'll be in town for the forseeable future on business so... call me if you change your mind.... If not, have a happy life, O'Conner."

Her words about the others made Brian's alarm bells go off whether he wanted it or not. He didn't flinch though. Her body language clearly indicated that she'd had it. Her friendly attitude turned cold and for once Brian realized what it was like to be 'interrogated' by federal agent Fuentes. It wasn't all that much fun once the friendliness was gone and the cold tone lined with guilt took over. Monica didn't really buy that Brian didn't give a damn about Jack when she said "I still believe theres a decent man in there somewhere and if your half the man I always thought you were... You won't let that happen." She had a point. Brian's conscience would simply not allow him to let Jack run towards his own death sentence. The ex cop didn't tell that to her though. "I'm actually not that decent, ask around. I'm pretty sure you heard my wrap now that you're with the LAPD." brian stated coldly. He had never had a great reputation as a cop after letting Dom run but he was at least somewhat respected after a while. That had change drastically during the last year when he was under investigation for asll sorts of delicts that Joker had framed him with.
When Monica walked away Brian followed her to the door and let her out. "Don't expect a call. I'm trying to stay out of trouble and he doesn't appreciate my company anyway." He closed the door behind her and turned around to face Mia, slightly dumbstruck. "What's going on here? Is it possible that he's found himself new trouble already?"
