She gave him a look of ´not funny at all´ but her smile gave her away. “Well, I was deciding what to get and you just come up unannounced,” She looked at his shopping cart; it was different than what she had.
Mia giggled when he protested when it came to help her with dinner. “It´ll be fun. Plus, you get to decide what you want to eat,” hitting his arm lightly understanding that he too was playing when he complained even if he never nudged her gently, she knew by his smile.
“You can leave your car at the house, we´ll take the Charger,” She occasionally stopped in different aisle to get what she needed. Last thing she threw inside the cart was some milk and cheese. “I´ve been doing okay. How about you?”
There was nothing new in her life, but in Brian´s life, a lot was going on. His twins now were 2 and a half, almost 3 months old. She tried to picture eack kid in her mind, she wanted to ask how they were, what they´d look like, but... she couldn´t bear to see Brian sad. She´d rather see him smile and laugh every second than too see him sad because he didn´t have his kids with him.
She took a peak at what she had before getting ready to pay. “I am more than ready to pay. Are you ready too?” walking slowly pushing the cart next to Brian.

"Alright, burgers it is then." Brian walked over to the meat section wondering how much to get. "Who else is going to be eating dinner? Dom?" Brian hadn't talked to her brother in a while because each of them were once again going their own seperate ways.
In regards to her question eh simply stated. "Better." Without going into detail about his personal life. There were better palces and times for that.
Once Mia announced that she was ready to pay Brian agreed. "Yep, let's go." After paying the bagged their stuff and walked outside together where Brian motioned for the old can he was currently driving. "What do you say? Impressed?" It was hard not to feel ashamed about this kind of vehicle, the only way to deal with it was with humor.
He popped the trunk open and but his two bags inside. "I'll see you at the Fort."
As he sat in the car he couldn't help the smile that lingered on when Mia left. It was good to see her. Very good.

S he helped him out with the meat, he seriously look he was struggling which one to get and how much too. Once that was done she thought about his question. “ I do not know if he´ll be there for dinner,” but made a mental note to leave some food for his brother too just in case.
The line for them to pay for the groceries wasn’t that long and because of that it took them a few minutes to be out of there. A slight smile appeared on her lips as he motion the car he drove, it was old, very old. “Well as long as it takes you from point A to point B, it´s all that matters,”
Mia turned around and walked towards her car “See you in a few minutes,” she pushed the shopping cart and opened the trunk of the Charger placing the 5 bags full with groceries and got inside her car.
*** She parked and took the groceries bags with her as she opened the door of the house, Brian right behind her. There was an AC now, which was good considering how California got during the days, a little humid and very hot, but during the night it was cooler.
She placed the majority of the stuff she bought in the fridge and pulled out some things they were going to need.

Brian was tempted to park the old Silverado further down the road just to save himself the comments he'd surely get from Dom and any other friends coming by. He decided to tough it out though and pull up right in front of the Fort. Quickly he followed Mia up the steps after grabbing a few things from the trunk. Inside he noticed how cool it was compared to usually. "You finally got air condition in here, wow." It definetly felt nice to get out of the heat that ahd his shirt clinging to his back. In the kitchen he dropped the lettuce and a few beers, which he placed in the fridge. Of course it was the golden Mexican kind that Dom favoured. Corona. What else? Brian then leaned on the kitchen counter with his hip crossing his arms in front of his chest. Suddenly he felt a little awkward.

“It was necessary to get and air condition, if not I was going to melt and that wouldn’t be fun or take a shower a hundred times…” She took out of the fridge two Coronas removing the cap and placing one in front of Brian. She averted her gaze to look down as he took a knife and started to slice some tomatoes and to chop a part of the lettuce she bought, leaving some of Brian´s groceries in the fridge.
When he didn´t talk, she stopped what she was doing to look up at him, he looked in deep thought. “What´s wrong?” Taking a quick sip of the beer before she continued to make dinner.
Did she said or did something she shouldn’t have? Everything was going great, they had a great time at the store, he was joking around and chuckling, but to see him cross his arms in front of his chest meant something was bothering him or felt uncomfortable. She wasn’t the kind of person to push or force another one to share his or her thoughts, but right now she was curious of what was going on inside his head.

Brian looked up at her and briefly drank a sip of beer musing over her question. What was wrong? Was there something wrong right now? What wasn't wrong? Obviously Mia had picked up on sth. gesture or something. She could read him like a book. Swallowing the cool draught he licked his lips and said. "Nothing right now." He let his gaze wander around. "It's just a little...I don't know...weird to be snowing into your place just like that. But it's good." He tried to reassure her. Holding the cool bottle to his face for a moment he enjoyed the feeling and decided to let all his worries slip for a day and just be here with Mia cooking dinner. "So what can I do now? Get the BBQ started?"

She furrowed her brows when he heard his answer “Hmm…okay,” was all she said when he assured her nothing was wrong.
“Why would it be weird? It shouldn’t be…” A few months ago she would believe his words, because she did felt uncomfortable around him but now, everything was okay between them. It worried her a little; they were past the awkwardness… at least that´s what she thought of it.
She placed the chopped lettuce in a bowl and the slice of tomatoes in another small plate. “Yes, that would be great,” while he started with the BBQ she washed her hands taking out some plates and napkins from one of the cabinets.

Apparently Mia didn't see anything weird or wrong with him standing in her kitchen, where a few years ago they had made love on the counter just before Brian and Dom went down to Mexico to bring back Arturo Braga. After that they had gone their seperate ways and now he was back in that very same kitchen with the woman he had loved back then.
He eyed her with her salad bowl for a moment before taking his beer and the meat outside. "Alright. I'll get the fire started." Brian announced stepping out of the back door. Outside looked the same as ever except that the lawn was mowed for a change. On the old veranda was a small bbq with a bag of charcoal sitting next to it.
For a moment Brian just took a deep breath and then busied himself with getting the grill going. Once he had managed to light the coals on fire and blew on it a couple of times to makes sure they'd glow. Wiping some beads of sweat from his forehead he looked back at the house. How many times had he been here from the very first time? How much had things changed since then? How much did he long to be part of this place again. For a while Brian sat down and enjoyed the rest of the beer. Tearing himself out of his daydreaming he put the burger patties onto the grill once it was ready. "Five minutes, Mia." Brian hollered to let her know she needed to hurry up.

He went out to the patio and it was when it clicked what he meant by feeling awkward, that very same counter that witness their goodbyes, she remembered it perfectly how it happen, she was crying, he followed her and kissed her and that was all she needed for her to give in. No need for a mirror as she felt herself blush by the memory, but she was right, there was nothing to feel awkward about, she would never feel awkward or regret that moment in her life, even now. On the contrary she enjoyed his company; she was helping him as much as he was helping her.
She could smell the burger patties as she continued to gather different bottles, mustard, ketchup, mayo, another bottle filled with pickles, some ham, cheese and the burger buns. She eyed the ingredients making sure she wasn’t forgetting a thing.
She took the salad bowl with chopped lettuce and slice of tomatoes in one hand while taking the package of buns in the other free hand, before joining Brian she took a deep breath to calm down her racing heart and push the door opent walking down the two stairs approaching Brian, giving him the buns to be placed on the grill for a minute or two. She then turned around and walked to the wooden picnic table placing the bowl of salad.
A quick flashback came to mind of that first BBQ Brian ever had with everyone and how Jesse had to say grace, and Leon jumping in helping Jess as he struggle with what to say, Vince joining the team once he cooled down and Brian looking at her to the point where she couldn’t hide her smile for the blonde guy. Mia woke up from her daydream making one last trip inside the house to grab a second beer for Brian, to grab her own Corona that still needed to be finish plus the second bowl with all the condiments, plates and napkins. “Ok, take this.” Giving him the second bottle of beer with no cap and a napkin to wipe the sweat from his forehead.

The meat deliciously sizzled on the grill and made Brian's mouth water, who once again had lived the whole day on coffee and snacks from a seven eleven. Behind him he could hear the old patio door squeak when Mia stepped outside with her arms full of condiments and drinks. Brian went over to grab some and place them on the picnic table before he took the beer and thanked her. "Just what I needed." He left the napkin in her hands and used the bottom of his shirt instead. He even contemplated getting rid of it all together. Once the buns were roasted they sat down to eat. Brian prepared himself a burger using most of the salad and condiments Mia had brought. Then he bit in and groaned exagerated. "Hmmm, that even beats your tuna sandwich." He grinned and smacked his tongue. "Did you find a job?" He wondered remembering their last conversation. "I occassionally help out at a guys garage but it barely pays for the rent. Oh yeah, I found a small apartment out of town." Shaking his head he thought about the aweful shack he currently called his home due to a seriously lack of cash.

She waited for him to give the first bite and then she started eating her own burger and some of the salad. “What?” she threw her head back laughing when he mentioned the tuna sandwich. “The tuna was crappy back then, still is,”
Once she stopped laughing, she went ahead and answer his second questions “I did at UCLA Medical Center, it´s not that far from here. Part-time, Monday through Fridays from 8am to 1 pm and I am free on the weekends unless they call me,” She kept eating as Brian mentioned his new apartment and listen to how he was struggling to pay the rent.
“I hope this doesn’t sound weird but- would you like to stay here? That way you won’t have to struggle with paying the rent and you can pay back by helping fixing something around the house when need it. So, what do you say?”

Brian smiled a little at the tuna remark. "Yeah, I gotta admit I've had better tuna sandwiches...but the company was great!" He winked at her remembering their beginnings. "Especially Vince... I still remember the look on his face." He couldn't help but chuckle about how the guy had always had a thing for Mia and tried to bash Brian's face in at his very first chance.
He took another bite out of the juicy burger and watched Mia. The atmosphere was pretty relaxed now or maybe it was just him who was feeling a little better.
"The medical center. Sounds good. At least no hospital." Mia had always been good with people and good nurse she shouldn't have a problem finding a job. "I'm sure you're doing a great job there, you patched me up great." He motioned for he new skin on his arm and leg that was visible under his shorts. It was still much lighter than the rest around it screaming road rash but that's all there was left. "Good to know where to go." He joked hoping he'd never actually have to do that.
Her offer about staying at her house surprised him though. For a moment he stopped chewing and raised his brow. "Really?"
Then he continued eating and shrugged. "I just got that place. Not sure I want to get on Doms bad side either." Mia's brother was always a factor that should be taken into account. After all he had threatened to break Brian's legs if he ever hurt his sister.

She looked down at her hamburger when he mentioned about the tuna sandwiches and how the company was so much better than the food, back when he first met her. She felt herself blush but didn’t say a word until he mentioned Vince, she chuckled too. “Yes. Vince was trying so hard to impress me, to get my attention but I saw him in the same way I saw Jesse and Leon, another brother,” She had eyes for Brian, and even though she let him know she would never date a friend of Dom´s, there was something about Brian that drew her to him like a magnet.
He joked with her and she smile once again. He brought her attention when he spoke about her invitation. “Yes, I am sure Dom will not have a problem with you staying here… but I also understand if you don´t want to stay,” Was he really concern with how Dom will react? Or was he “afraid” to be under the same roof with her? After all, their feelings were out in the open and they understood what and how each other felt. She cleared her throat and took the last bite of her burger placing the plate aside. “That was delicious,”

Brian continued to eat but barely tasted what was in his mouth because he was seriously contemplating her offer. "I'm not that needy." He explained a little embarassed. "Even though I might look like I am." Or was her offer not just out of pity. Did she actually want him to live here. Once he finished the burger he filled his plate with salad and kept eating. Still chewing he continued. "What about you. Do you actually want me to live here?" They had told each other how they felt a few weeks ago but both knew that right now it wouldn't go anywhere. "I come with a shipload of bagage. i don't really want to dump all that in your front yard, you know. Maybe sleep about it and then tell me what you think?"
Lifting the beer to his lips he leaned back and smiled at her. "Let's just enjoy the evening." The sun was already pretty low and dissapearing behind the neighboring roofs and trees. Children could be heard as well as the rattling of post and pans. Brian sighed and then looked at her again. "Have you heard anything about your uncles business?"

“I am not saying you are needy. I am just trying to help,” looking down at her hands, maybe it was a bad idea she offered her home for him to live. Of course she wanted him to live there but she couldn’t say it to him afraid he was going to take her offer in another way. Now she was the one that sounded needy.
So, when he asked her if she wanted him to live with her and Dom, she kept quiet, the words wouldn’t come out. He then continued to let her know he didn’t want to dump all of his things or “garbage” as he called it to her front door. Maybe that´s what she needed, to think about it more than a hundred times. She nodded at his words instead of answering with a clear and firm ´Yes´.
He was right about enjoying the evening, the sun was slowly hiding and the laughter of children and squealing made her smile, but it faded when he mention Stephano. “No, I haven´t heard a thing,”
OOC: Speaking of the Stephano character. Is Sam still in the hospital?

If Mia really still wanted him to move in after thinking about it maybe he would. "We'll talk about this again in a few days, okay?" He offered with a faint smile. To hear that Stephano's family 'business' didn't cause her any trouble was great news. "I was hoping you'd say that. The last thing we needed was you getting drawn into this whole mess." He thought about just dropping the subject but there was one more thing he still needed to know. "I hate to ask but have you heard anything from that guy, Sam?" Brian squinted at the mention of his name. After all the guy had taken his kids from him. Mira had reported him to the police but Brian didn't know whether they had finally gotten a hold of him. Last thing he heard was that he was in custody after the shooting and critical condition but then somehow managed to escape from the hospital. "I swear that's the last thing I'll ask then I'll leave it alone." Brian could see their conversation going into a direction that he'd rather not go because he wanted to enjoy the time with Mia. It was precious, very much actually.

“I was the one that started this whole mess,” Part of her regret doing that, but the other part felt the need to do it. If anything good came with asking the mob for help was having Dom out of jail, the not so fun part was how they had to take out Jack but thank god he was still alive, somewhere but alive.
“Not since that day at the docks. What do you know about Sam? I mean last thing I remember was gun shots and blood… I never knew what happened to him. I swear too I will stop asking more questions about him but I just need to know what happen to Sam” holding up her right hand, a way for Brian to see she meant it about not asking more things about Sam as soon as he answer her question, her brown eyes focused on Brian waiting for his reaction.
For some reason she just need it to know where Sam was. Life seemed easier not only for her but for Brian, but she had this feeling that something was wrong, that something was going to happen and it involved Sam. She hoped she was wrong and with Stephano dead then things should be calm with no more adventures for them, and that meant not to run from the law or another mob organization again.

The conversation was back in an ugly spot...but maybe things needed to be talked about. Frowning slightly Brian took another sip of beer and looked at his hadns. "I guess we have to talk this through, don't we?" He wasn't big on talking but somehow things had to be dealt with. "That day is a big blur. I mean I was running from the cops as well, I was more concerned about me and Jack getting shot than what would happen to Sam. last thing I know was that..." He tried hard to remember what happened that day. "I think he was arrested...shot maybe, yeah. But that doesn't mean much. Look at my brother." He sincerely hoped that whatever happened to Sam hurt as much as he deserved to be hurt. After all Jack never got his fingers back and Brian's relationship went down the drain because of Sam. Brian's gaze darkened. "I'm telling you. If he's not behind bars and ever shows his face around me again I cannot guarantee anything." Whatever that might mean. "He's not in jail. That's all I know. Mira reported him to the police but they lost him." If Brian had his way he'd g after the guy but then again what good would that do anybody? Unconsciously he rubbed his knee that he'd hurt when he jumped onto the container while running from the police that day. It was still a miracle that they never id him...not yet anyway.

“They what---“ She shook her head and ran her hands through her long hair. “How could they lose him?” it was hard not to feel stressed. “What if he decides to show up here? ” she shudder feeling insecure in her own house. It didn’t help that Dom wasn’t at the house, but that was Dom he disappeared for a couple of days, and if something was wrong she was always the first to know. “Sorry. Let´s just change the subject. It´s not the right place or time to start stressing,” She was sure Brian was glad to change the subject. She was having a great time, why ruin it? If those two months Sam never contacted her, then why worry?

it was easy to tell that Mia, who always kept her calm, got pretty tense when he mentioned that Sam was still free. If there was anybody who could understand that it was Brian. "I know how you feel but I don't think he'll show up. He has no reason. His boss is gone, he has no job 'against' us. But he knows we'll call the cops as soon as he shows his face so I think you're safe." He placed his palm on her arm to reassure her. "Plus we beat him once...we can do it again." Maybe it was not such a bad idea to stick around and help her if needed. "Why, are you worried? If you want me to I can stay here when Dom's not arround." That could very well be taken the wrong way.
When Mia offered to change the subject Brian nodded because it was a good idea. His gaze fell onto the garage roof where a trees broken branch had fallen and damaged a small area of the roof. "When did that happen?"
