The idea of getting the car was good. For a moment Brian contemplated whetherto let Jack get it or get it himself. He didn't want to put his brother in danger but since they didn't know him he was probably going to be okay. Plus he wanted to stay with Letty to protect her so he tossed the keys to his brother. "Be careful!" Then he pulled out his own gun and checked that it was loaded. A quick glance into the back door. Nobody but kitchen staff. Brian nodded at Letty to stay close to the outside wall.
Unfortunately the two Mexicans weren't stupid either so one of them made his way around the side of the building to check for possible escape ways while the other one stepped into the diner as if he was John Wayne coming into an old saloon.

Jack caught the keys mid air and was ready to walk in a fairly fast pace toward the Nissan. As he took the first few steps, he could already hear foot steps coming toward them from the side of the building. It didn't take a genius to realize that it had to be one of the Mexicans. He shot a look at Brian and Letty, warning them for the upcoming Mexican while he tried his best to stay cool. To the Mexican, he was just a random guy anyway. He kept up his pace as he past the guy with the keys clutched in his hand. Only a few steps out of reach now the Skyline was parked. In his mind he cursed his brother for parking it so far away.

Letty's knees shivered the whole time and her heart pounded in her chest impossibly fast. Her stomach was flipping and aching and suddenly this whole situation reminded her of the 'good times' with Brian O'Conner', If only Dom knew... she thought to herself, she would have been smiling too if she wasn't fighting for her life right now.
Letty remained still and very close to Brian, trying to maintain and control each and every anxious breath she was taking. She could see Brian's brother outside, he was nervous too, she hoped the Mexicans wouldn't pay any much attention to him and they could all just get the hell out of there.

The sunburnt soil benath his old warn out Pumas didn't make too many sounds when Ramon was sneaking around the side of "El Loco Diner". His heart was beating fast because he was on high alert. His boss had told him to keep a good eye on the "gem". Their American racer girl, who made them a good amount of money in local street races and was a good driver when it came to smuggling illegal goods. She was never allowed to leave a perimeter of 50 kms around the hacienda. The diner was out of this perimeter and awefully close to the US border. Ramon had to stop her and bring her back or his boss would do to him what he had done to his cousin and many others. He'd rather kill the American woman than bite the dust himself. The Mexican's grip around the gun tightened when he was caught off guard by somebody walking his way. Immediately he hid the gun in his pocket wondering what this boy was doing behind the diner. He had to be American with his blond hair and blue eyes. Maybe he took a leak back there. He seemed too careless to be up to something. Then again there was a race car parked in front of the diner. If that was his he might be there to help the American woman. Ramon threw a glance across his shoulder and watched the young guy walk towards the parked cars. He stopped dead in his tracks.
In the meantime his toothless friend had figured out that Letty wasn't inside and made his way to the kitchen. The employees pointed at the back door.

Letty listened carefully as she heard the Mexican guy talking to the staff back in the kitchen. She could hear his steps, he was retreating from them and walking towards her, she hoped that somehow a miracle would happen and he'd drop dead or change his way.
"buchon de mierda!" Letty hissed soundlessly, she felt her blood boiling under her skin as fury took over her body, in that very moment she didn't care if he finds them, all she wanted to do was come out and kick his ass on her own. But Letty knew better than that. She knew Braga wouldn't send his men without equipment, she assumed they were armed with something more than just a knife.
Letty turned noiselessly to check on Brian. What the hell are we going to do? he's coming right towards us.

He threw one last glance at the Mexican before he reached the Nissan. Much to Jack's discomfort, the guy had stopped dead in his tracks. He could have known that an American in Mexico in a situation like this one would attract attention regardless. "Great idea Jack, let's get the car!" He hissed at himself along with a few more curse words while he quickly took his place behind the wheel and started the engine. He now had the full attention of the Mexican directed at him. The guy was already reaching for something which Jack guessed would probably be a gun. Without having any desire to find out, he put the car in first gear and pushed the pedal to the floor. The Skyline sped off it's spot, straight towards the Mexican. Jack wasn't planning on killing him, but he had to do something to get the man out of the way and this was all he could think of.

At first Ramon thought the kid would just walk to another car but no, he walked to that flashy Nissan. as soon as the engine was turned on he fumbled for his gun which was unfortunately stuck in his pocket. The next second he had to dive out of the way in order to avoid being run over. From his position in the dirt he aimed at the car with the gun that he finally pulled out and shot. The shot rang through the air but that's about all it did. It completely missed it's target. Well that and it made his buddy run out of the back door in order to check what had happened and see a Skyline fly around the corner.

As soon as he heard the shot Brian jumped out of the hiding place and looked towards the corner. His heart skipped a beat hoping Jack wouldn't be hit. He didn't even worry about his car. Next thing he spotted a big ugly Mexican coming out of the door with a gun in his hand. "Shit!" He froze undecided what to do. He had to decide fast if he didn't want Letty to be shot or taken back. Instead of drawing his own gun he just lunged at the Mexican grabbing a hold of his arm with his left hand and sending his back against the door frame. With his whole weight he pinned him against the wood. Brian hoped that the man would just drop the gun and give up. It was never good to get caught in a shoot out...especially when you're far away from your own jurisdiction.

"Shit!" Jack checked the rearview mirror and saw the Mexican on the ground with the fired gun clutched in his hands. The shot was a little too close for comfort and on top of that probably attracted a lot of attention, most importantly that of the other Mexican. As the Nissan swerved around the corner, his suspicions were confirmed. At the doorway they had used earlier, he saw his brother struggling with the guy, trying to overtake him and his gun. Shit just kept getting better and better. Why didn't he just remain a couch potato like his initial plan for that day was. Why did he have to come along with his brother and play a damn hero in this shithole. He pulled the e-brake for a quick turn around to make a quick get-away, before bringing the Skyline to a full stop. As quick as he could he got out of the car while motioning for Letty to get her butt in the car asap. "Jesus Brian, would you just knock the idiot out! His friend just shot at me, we need to go NOW!"

Brian was busy struggling with a man who weighed at least 40 pounds more than him. The cop was athletic and trained in Jujitsu but when it came to muscle the Mexican sported clearly more. Because the man just wouldn't let go of the gun he had to be very careful and decided to knee him in the balls when he heard Jack's call behind him. Momentarily distracted he shot a glance at his brother and cockily remarked. "What the hell do you think I'm trying to do? Give him a manicure?"

The sudden blow to Manny's balls not only caused him to drop the gun but also brought out a slur of Spanish curse words while he bended forward from the pain. The American obviously liked to play dirty. If that was what he wanted, then that was what he would get. While taking deep breaths he noticed that his opponent was distracted for just a moment, but that was all it took. With all the strength he could muster he punched the American right in the gut. "Pendejo!" Now he had to get his hands back on the gun...

Of course Brian knew it was stupid to take his eyes off the Mexican even it it was just for a split second and he received the bill for his stupidity in form of a nasty punch in his gutts, which knocked the wind right out of him and sent him flat on his butt into the dirt not too far away from the gun. Unfortunately Brian was so busy with sucking in air and keeping the burrito inside that he didn't reach for it in time. When he saw the big bald dude reaching for it he knew he'd better get his act together. So he didn't waste any time on grimacing and moaning in pain but kicked his legs at the gringo's legs and tried to get his own gun out of his belt at the same time keeping his fingers crossed that Jack and Letty were already in the car ready for a fast get away.

Ramon had made his way around the building and quickly took in the situation. He figured Manny could handle the other American by himself and he should probably make sure that the gem couldn't get away so he proceeded to shoot at the Skyline. The back window burst into a thousand pieces. Then the trunk got two wholes. Finally he aimed at something that made sense. The tires.

Just as Manny was about to grab his gun out of the dirt, his legs were kicked out from under him and he took a nasty drop on his side. Obviously he hadn't punched the American hard enough if he still managed to do that. The guy was tough that was for sure. Just as the American was reaching for his gun, Manny grabbed a hand full of sand before he quickly got back up and tossed it in the man's eyes followed by a kick against the arm that was reaching for the gun. If this sucker thought Manny was going to have his ass shot by him, he had another thing coming. In the background he could hear the gunshots. Looked like his buddy Ramon was still in the game after all.

Brian spit out dirt, cried out in pain because the heavy boot had almost crushed his arm and tried to rubb his eyes with his left hand all at the same time. He couldn't see a damn thing because his eyes hurt like hell and watered up immediately from all the sand and dust. Brian knew very well that this was a really bad moment for not being able to see his toothless oponent who was probably going for his gun right now. For a moment fear got the better of him and he was screaming for his brother or Letty for help. It didn't feel nice. It felt like his gutts just dropped and he was ready to throw his hands up and surrender when the adrenalin kicked in and he rolled away to the side. Finally he got his gun out. Through a curtain of tears and sand he could make out the Mexican and fired in his direction..

The screams coming from the American sounded like music to Manny's ears and a wide grin spread across his face. The sand did it's job good and left his opponent practicly blind for the time being. All he had to do now was get his gun, shoot this guy in the face and he would have one less problem standing in the way between him and his mission: the racer girl. He grabbed the gun of the ground and while he took the safety off he yelled at the American "Tiempo para morir, perro Americano!" Manny felt he had already won this battle when he pointed his gun at his seemingly helpless victim. But before he could pull the trigger, a shot that wasn't his own rang through the air followed by excruciating pain in his left leg right above the knee which immediatly gave in under his weight. Now it was Manny laying on the ground, screaming in pain and calling out for his buddy Ramon for help. His gun was completely forgotten while his shot up leg got all his attention. What the hell just happened?

Letty jumped from behind him, she kicked him in the groin with all she had. "Preferiria morir antes que volver con usted" she said with a low growl full of hatred.
Letty kicked him several times 'till he was writhing in pain on the verge of unconsciousness. She then stepped towards Brian that was still on the floor, holding a gun in his hand. "Nice shot." Letty said with a small smile that disappeared a second later. She reached her hand to help him up to his feet.

Ramon wasn't impressed with the chika kicking Manny to unconsciousness or her friend shooting at him. Also the possibility of them getting away wasn't too pleasing. He didn't want to join the countless predecessors who had ended up 6 feet under because of incompetence. Anger boiled up inside when he turned away from the car and aimed at the two Americanos next to his buddy. Who should he take out? The asskicking girl or the guy with the gun? Ramon decided that shooting the girl would lend him in just as much trouble as loosing her so he aimed for the guy and fired. Would he hit his target for once? He was a terrible shooter.

With a look of suprise on his face Jack watched as Letty kicked the crap out of the Mexican after Brian had shot him. Guess they weren't on very good terms with each other. Then his attention got drawn to the side where he heard a gun being cocked. In all the excitement they had forgotten about the second Mexican who now had his gun aimed at his brother and was ready to pull the trigger. "Holy shit" While his adrenaline kicked in, he ran toward the Mexican and lunged at him. But before he knocked him to the ground the shot already rang through the air. As he punched the guy out he had no idea who was hit.. or if anybody was hit...

Letty dropped herself down to the floor, lying next to wounded Manny, she grabbd his gun in one sharp movement and turned her head to check on Brian while pointing it towards the man beside her, making sure he stays in his place.
