"I've done all that. I checked every bit of information the FBI had on the guy but he's as clean as a baby butt. Almost too clean. I'm pretty sure he's got somebody on the inside." His expression became serious when he weighed his possibilities. There wasn't much he could do. To explain the problem he added. "When I was in Miami the cops caught me and read me my wrapsheet. it was either jail or bring Carter Verone down for them. So I did together with Rome. We wrecked his yacht, put a bullett in his shoulder and stole some of his money...I guess he has reason to be pissed off." A slight smirk appeared on his face.
"When he cut up Buster I went to his place and told him that I'd kill him if he ever layed his hands on my family. Needless to say he was little impressed." He sighed and let his shoulders hang. It was like the man was untouchable unless... "Maybe I could set up a trap."

Dom looked at the forlorn Brian in front of him, "I'll see what I can come up with. The Feds don't know jack shit about people like your guy, it's people on the street who know what the guy does," Standing straight Dom clapped his hand on Brian's shoulder, "I was impressed when you pointed a pistol at me while I was holding a shotgun. You are crazy stupid sometimes, and it impresses people how crazy stupid you can be."
Dom shook his head and nodded back towards the house, "Come on, we can figure this out over some brews."

"Aewsome idea." brian turned to leave the garage. "Did you just call me stupid in a really subtle way?" He laughed. "Anybody else would get his ass kicked for that. But I take it as a compliment although it tends to come back and bite me in the ass sometimes."
On their way to the house he asked. "Does Mia know you're back? You should see Tyler...he's grown spo much. Big chubby cheeks and all."

Dom nodded, "Yes I called you stupid, and you know how well you trying to fight me ended up last time," he said snorting at the thought, Brian had ended up on the floor on his back as Dom wailed on him.
"I came in this morning so you are the last one to know as usual," Dom said shaking his head, "He's a cute kid..."
He opened the backdoor and held it open for Brian to go in.

Brian raised his hands in a mock gesture. "Don't touch my fragile body." He knew Dom would always end up being the winner but he still would take him on any day. That was one thing that he was good at ...not being afraid of a good fight even if he'd get pummeled by Dominic Toretto.
He entered the house through the back door and grabbed two beers from the fridge. Millers wasn't Corona but hopefully okay.

Dom looked at the beer he was handed and shook his head, "Sacrilege Brian, sacrilege."
He moved a chair out from the kitchen table and sat down looking at Brian, "So what are you planning on doing then?"

Brian looked at the beer in his hand, shrugged and took a long gulp.
"I don't know, man. I'm wordering if I should just let it be. Maybe if I leave him alone he'll leave me alone. I really would like to go away with Mia."

Dom nodded, "You realize that if he doesn't leave you alone and you go away, you're going to put everyone in danger. Me I can take care of myself but Mia and Tyler, you got to worry about them. You can't protect them both Brian, I know your attention span," he said folding his arms over his chest brew still in hand.
He looked Brian over, he hadn't been getting enough sleep that was for sure, and he was stressed not being used to having to look over his shoulder all the time. Dom was tempted to send him to bed, but knew better the stubborn guy wouldn't go any way.

Dom was right. Brian knew that all too well. He knitted his brow. "I know, bro. But do I have a choice?" With a look at his friend he suddenly became a little more confident. "Do you have a better idea? I'm open to any suggestion...any!"

Dom laughed softly, "Take the fight to him, take something from him like he did from you. An eye for an eye," he said setting the brew down on the table, "When Johnny Tran and I went bad, we went back and forth fighting from across town. We had to call a truce, because there were becoming a lot of casualties and the cops were starting to notice. We agreed as long as I staid off his turf he'd stay off mine. Everything worked out until you showed up," Dom teased softly, "And everything went back to normal after I left it seems like."
He had hoped that everything kept being normal but he didn't know, things were strained with the Trans after Johnny and his brother Lance had mowed down Jesse in his front yard. Dom ran a hand across his head as he sighed, he should go and pay his respects to Jesse, properly this time and not from the top of the hill.

Brin Listened to Dom's words. He didn't get offended by Dom's 'until you showed up.' It was his job. "I don't know." he shook his head. "I don't have it in me to take it our on his pet or family. If I do something I'd hurt his business or Verone. I have no problem with that but s far as I know the guy doesn't even have a legal business. But he's got a family and I'm wondering how his partner knows...maybe I could send her some pictures or tapes?"

"Brian you do what you have to, to protect your family," Dom said looking at Brian very seriously, "But pictures or tapes sent to his partner would be good, and if you've got someone to watch them, have them take shots of his family. That should make him think twice about messin' with this family," Dom said taking a long drink from the brew.
He swallowed and shifted in his seat, "If it makes you feel better, I'm going to be hanging around the house for a bit until I figure something out of what to do with myself."

In any other situation Brian would have preferred to be alone with Mia but right now he was glad to have Dom around. After all he couldn't be there 24/7. "That's good. It'll make Mia feel safer. Plus you can get to know Tyler and babysit." He grinned. It was quite the task. "I'll figure something out. I don#t want to watch my back forever."
For a while the drank their beers in silence. Then Brian broke it. "Do you know where she is...Letty?"

Dom stiffened at the mention of her name, her name was enough to make him more then annoyed at the guy in front of him, "No," Dom said defiantly leaving the bitter 'I don't give a fuck either' silent.
He looked at the remainder of the brew and tossed the rest of it back, oh what he would give for something stronger. Dom stood, he knew where he stashed his hard liquor when he wanted to forget. He opened a cabinet and grabbed the bottle blindly off the top shelf where it stayed out of sight until Letty and he had a blow out fight.
Dom closed the cabinet and sat back down at the table opening the bottle of Tequila and taking a swig, "Why ask me? I'm the one she left remember?"

"I'm sorry." Brian watched him grab the bottle and gulp some Tequila down. Obviously a very sore topic. "I was just wondering whether she's safe because of..you know...all the shit that went down. Never mind."
He didn't ask what had happened. He loved his life too much for that.
"Poor me a shot, too."

Dom nodded and stood grabbing a shot glass off the counter, "I don't know and have half a mind not to care," he said pouring Brian a shot before he lifted the bottle to his lips once more and took a swig.
He set the bottle on the table once more, knowing he would regret the drinking Tequila in the morning but couldn't bring himself to care. Dom looked at the bottle and leaned on the table looking at Brian, "So anything else you wanna bring up?"

Brian set the shotglass to his lips and tilted his head back. The liquid burned all the way down his throat. "Nope, bro. I kinda like my face the way it is." He knew Dom wasn't one to hold his anger back for a long time. The glass was slammed on the table as he waited for refill.

Dom laughed softly, "As much as I would like, I'm sure my sister would be a little hard to handle, after I rearranged your face."
He could feel the beginnings of a buzz as a warm tingle spread through his chest. Dom lifted the bottle once more a took another long drink from it, "Fire away Buster. I know there are other things on your mind," he said pouring Brian another shot before he took another long drink himself.

Brian fiddle with the glass, twisting and turning it while he listened to Dom. "Okay. " he shrugged. Then downed another shot of Tequila. "Why did she leave?"

Dom took another long drink before he looked at the over half empty bottle, "I popped the question and gave her a ring... she ran. I thought it's what she wanted, I knew she wanted me to ask and she just took off on me," He said looking intently at the amber liquid as if it held all the answers he needed.
He couldn't make sense of it, she had just taken off, no reason no nothing. It was a shot to the gut he didn't need in addition to the constant running. Dom thought it was the right thing to do after so long, but now he'd have to find someone else. Someone that was 80% angel and 20% devil, with eyes that could read through all the bullshit.
