The street flying by still looked familar. Brian was out on the town a lot with his car and knew exactly where they were going. When the car came to a sudden stop at a busy intersection with a red light it happened. The sick feeling got the better of him leaving him just enough time to open the door and lean outside when the remainders of his liquid dinner splashed on the tarmac below the car. It felt and tasted aweful and Brian was thankful he was in the car with Dom, not Mia. That would be embarrassing to say the least. With his face pale he leaned back in the car and groaned. "All done." He chuckled slightl amused at Dom's expression and closed the door. "Green."

Dom shook his head and gunned the engine once more, "At least you waited until I stopped," he commented glancing at Brian for a moment as he drove.
He didn't know what he was going to do until Brian sobered up enough to be taken back to his house by Han, who could drop him off and not get arrested by the Feds. Dom knew he would have to get Brian's car and fix it up for him as a way of thanks. Shaking his head once more Dom sighed and focused on the road in front of him. He was king of these streets, there had to be someway out.

"You're welcome." He wiped the back of his hand over his mouth. The acidic sensation in his throat stung and tasted aweful.
As they neared Hector's turf Brian looked up in the dark night sky. No sign of helicopters. "Shouldn't you change your car or something?" Dom wasn't only the king of the streets but the king of jacking cars and trucks.

Dom nodded, "I will when I know your sober enough to be left in someone else's hands," he said as he drove deeper into the hispanics' territory.
He glanced around, there were plenty of places he could leave his Charger and there were plenty of cars he could take in it's place. But he really didn't want to leave the Charger on someone else's turf or on someone else's hands without good reason. The car held a lot of memories, memories he didn't want to loose.

"What am I a baby or what?" Brian stuck his thumb in his mouth. "No need to babysit me." He frowned and watched the houses fly by. "Spanish quarter?" It was a name the cops had given the area because of the number of Hispanic inhabitants. A certain part of it was well know for its brutal gunfights and other crime. "Hector, eh? Does he know you might bring the cops over?"

Dom laughed, "He knows when I got you as a brother-in-law, I might drop you with him. Never heard him say no to it. Get your thumb out of your mouth you dumb ass, you need a baby sitter, so the feds don't come after your ass again. Last thing I need is my sister chasing me around for getting you killed."
Dom slowed his car to a stop in front of El Gato Negro. Han pulling behind him waiting for a signal, he was a good kid in Dom's eyes, never questioned a single request.

"Don't worry. I'm indestructible." was Brian's stupid answer. He looked out of the window to see El Gato Negro and opened the door. It would be interesting to see how they were greeted here. Looking up in the Sky he noticed that no helicopters had shown up yet so they were good. Suddenly it dawned on him. "Hey, why am I running anyway? What do they have on me? Harbouring a criminal? It was more like the criminal was harbouring me, right?"

Dom looked at Brian, "Well if your Fed friend says anything about it. You were harboring a fugitive and driving under the influence. There are several other minor things I'm sure he could tack on," he said slipping out of his car motioning to Han to follow him out.
He wouldn't need back up on Hector's turf but he liked to have people he could trust there with him.

Brian followed Dom and pointed somewhere in the distance behind him. "The guy forced me to drive! Are you kidding?" Suddenly he started panicking because of what had just happened. "Are you telling me I could go back to prison or be on the run for who knows how long for....nothing? Just living in my place and having a beer with you?" He stumbled over a few smaller stones while he gestured wildly. "Bullshit!"

Dom laughed softly, "If that's where that Fed wants you then yeah that's what will happen. I got a feeling though, you have enough pull with the suits to keep you out of lock up," the words almost had a bitter tinge to them as he opened the door to the club and walked in.
The heat of bodies packed together, dancing, drinking and partying was a wave that washed over him. As well as the smell of booze, sweat, cigars, and a few other choice things he didn't want his mind lingering on too long. Dom looked around and found Hector lounging with his girls.
"Hey Hector, I got a favor to ask you," he said as he got close enough to the Hispanic man.

Entering the club was like entering the underworld. People here looked dark, sexy, the smell was stale and mixed with all kinds of things. Brian pushed his way past two guys making out until he spotted Hector, who offered them a seat, waved for drinks and asked what favour he could do Dom. The flashing lights and dancing people made Brian's head spin and he took a sip of Jack and Coke warming up his drunken state before he even knew what he was doing. He smiled awkwardly at a half naked chick giving him the eye.

Dom nodded taking the offered Corona as Han stood behind him watching the dancing woman with a keen interest.
"I need you to look after Brian until he sobers enough to go home. This is the safest place for him, no cop or Fed who doesn't want to get shot at comes here. When he's sober enough my Charger is outside for him to take. I appreciate you doing this Hector, I ain't got a lot of people left I can trust," he said taking a sip of the Corona as he felt Han lean on the back of the chair the soft voice in his ear saying he was going to be waiting outside.

Just when Hector agreed brian reached out for Dom's massive arm and held him. "Are you kidding, Dom. You're asking him to babysit me?" He shook his head and snarled. "Funny...I can take care of myself." As proof he turned around and bumped into one of Hector's friends behind him. "Ah, scuse me." He pushed the guy aside and half stumbled across the packed dancefloor where two girls grinding on each other caught his attention or a moment. "Sweet."

Dom laughed softly, "Thanks Hector, he needs a babysitter," he tossed his keys to Hector, "And cut him off sooner rather then later. Buster's still running off of a bottle of Tequila and SoCo."
He stood and slipped past the people heading towards Brian where he grabbed him and pushed him back to Hector, "Stay here till you sober up. Hector has the keys to my Charger, you wreck it you build it."
Dom walked out of the club and into the night air, seeing Han with a cigarette between his lips, "I thought you quit."

"I did," Han said shrugging, "But I let my self have one every time I'm about to risk my neck for you," he said pushing off his car as took a drag from the death stick and walked around his car to the drivers side, "In any case, your guy safe here, and more importantly is your car safe here?"
Han slipped into his car and waited for Dom to slip inside with him, the larger man quickly pulling on the harness as he prepared himself for the ride. Dom had never been a good passenger.

For a moment Brian stood behind the dancing girls and admired them contemplating whether he should move closer and have a little fun. When ione of them turned around and smiled at him he stepped a little closer and started moving his hips to the music. If he had to stay it didn't have to be boring, right? Even though the music and alcohol made him feel good he still didn't enjoy it. Something was missing....Mia. Where was she? Suddenly he remembered that she was still asleep at home and had no idea what happened. Quickly he left the girls standing on the dancefloor and stepped closer to the door to give her a call. Outside the night was quiet and the air cool. His phone rang a few times...

Dom nodded, "Yeah it's all safe here. Your place?" he broached carefully looking at the asian sitting behind the wheel the cancer stick still hanging between his lips.
He didn't like the smell of cigarettes but it wasn't his life and it sure as hell wasn't his body. Dom winced slightly as his head gave a throb of pain reminding him of the amount of alcohol he had drank earlier that night. He wasn't seeing himself sleeping anytime soon.
