At the agreed time Brian was waiting in a small take away opposite the cafe and was keeping his eyes open for a beautiful brunette with long hair and a small frame. Unfortuntely a lot of girls here fit this description and had him jumping up a few times. Somewhat tired and bored he ordered another coke while he was waiting and looked at his watch. Either she was running late or decided to stay home in safety. Suddenly a cab pulled up in front of the place and a woman stepped out. Immediately Brian was on his feet.

She smiled to the cab driver and with perfect Japanese she thanked the old man, as she took her small suitcase, her small, soft and delicate hands held some cash giving it to the man. She stepped out of the cab, and stop dead in her tracks as her mind made a quick trip to the old café back in L.A. where he saw Brian for the first time after 5 years.
She took a deep breath, and entered to the Japanese café, it wasn’t hard to find him standing there with his sandy blonde hair and his blue eyes. She walked a few more steps until she was finally in front of him. His blue eyes seemed to shine with excitement and a little bit of shock.
She nervously looked down at a loss of words. The air picked up the pace playing with her long hair placing it behind her, covering her back and revealing her smooth olive shoulders, and sending a sweet scent of her perfume to the man nostrils.
A waitress approach the couple “Would you like something to drink?” The petite Japanese waitress questioned Mia.
“Water, please.” She smiled to the waitress. The petite woman excused herself and went back to the kitchen. Brian didn’t order a thing, probably because it was hard to believe to have her in front of him, back into his life.
Her chocolate eyes were now on his face and dark blue eyes as she spoke to him. “Hey...” she said not knowing what to say next.

It had been a while since he'd seen her last. The time together however didn't last long, maybe because she blamed Brian for Letty's death because he was the one, who let her become an inforant even though he knew the risks. Or maybe it was the fact he had played Brian Spilner when they first met or that Dom was in jail because he wouldn't move from Brian's side when he was injured after rolling the car in Mexico. Mia had plenty of reasons but she never told Brian why he had to leave. The fact that she came all the way to Tokyo for him was weird to say the least.
So when his eyes finally fell on her his nerves hit a peak. Mia hadn't changed a bit. Her beautiful shiny hair still fell to her boobs and now looked like in some modelling shot with the wind blowing it up. She was still petite and extremely pretty but maybe a little bit less girly looking. When their eyes met a variety of old feelings washed over him: from guilt to happiness to desire. After a deep breath and trying to stay calm (unsucessfully) he smiled at her.
"Hey." Acting on an impuls he hugged her. This time had to be different than in the diner in LA. Things had changed since then. He held her for a brief moment, then let go before it became awkward. "you made it." Brian motioned for a table and sat down. He couldn't help but check behind her. Hopefully she didn't have a tail.

To have his arms around her figure made her feel awkward, and excited at the same time. She didn't want to admit it but she felt safe in his arms, it was like a spark happen in that moment. But her arms weren't reacting. Was she scared? Probably...
Brian seemed nervous, his eyes scan over her shoulder. By doing that confirmed something to her, he was in SO much trouble. She sent him a quick smile, and sat down in front of him. The waitress came back, and placed Mia's water in front of her. After thanking the waitress, she took a quick but small amount of water, her throat seemed to become dry. Stupid nerves...
"Yes, I made it." She said running out of words. It took all of her will power not to kiss him and it took all of will power not to play with his hair while her lips assaulted his, but reality was different and it hurt. Because she wasn't hating him right now....

For a moment time seemed to stand still for Brian when he was reunited with Mia but the fear og her being followed by somebody took him back to reality. It wasn't so much that Brian suspected her to sell him out but that his previous relationship with her and her brother was enough to monitor her. "Do you know if anybody's been following you?" Arounf them were only Japanese people so the ex cop figured they were alright for now.
He looked into her dark eyes again and admitted. "Thank you for coming. It's really good to see you." He couldn't help but feel drawn to her even though he knew that he could not let her know.

"No, I didn't notice anybody following me," she answered his question. For a moment she felt hypnotized by his eyes and quickly cleared her throat. "Don't thank me. I couldn't just--" she hesitated for a second. "I couldn't just walk away." she finally confessed.
She drank a little bit of water, and rubbed her eyes. She was tired, before meeting Brian she had a hard time sleeping, and it was understandable. She tried to think of what to say to him before meeting the ex-cop, but after “rehearsing” what she had to say. Well… it was now all gone.

She couldn*t walk away. Interesting. Especially since 'away' implied that she was somehow involved before. Once again Brian decided to follow his gutt and judging by the look in hereyes he was right. He simply asked. "why not?" and studied her expression. "I thought you wanted me out of your life." Her face was still so beautiful. Now that she was a little older even more so than before even thpugh some faint lines were starting to show around her mouth.

She was cornered, and no way for her to run away from his question. How could she explain to him that she couldn't walk away because she had feelings for him? How to explain to him that she couldn't walk away because Brian was family, and with Brian in jail, she was alone, after all Letty was not in her life or Dom's life. How could she explain that she loved him, but at the same time she couldn't give in to him?
How damn it?! How?! Her heart skipped a beat as she thought of what to say next. "I-- Well, I--" she couldn't speak in that moment. Her eyes focused on the 'Exit' sign of the Japanese cafe. Could she have enough time to run out of the cafe? But, what was the point of running if she was going to help him?

He could tell Mia was getting uneasy because she averted her eyes. Something she always did when she was uneasy. It was almost cute and he had to suppress a smile. Nevertheless Brian wanted an answer. "Did Dom pressure you to come here or was it something you wanted?" He leaned onto the table and a little towards her. "Sorry, I don'T mean to make you uncomfortable."

His warm breath caressed her face which made her even more nervous. She looked at him, her voice with a little bit of anger about the uncomfortable part. "Well, you're making me uncomfortable," She sighed as she tried to control her heart that seemed to get out of her chest with each beat.
"My brother is not that type of person, he would never pressure me to do something I didn't feel comfortable with and he knows I'm here. To have him in jail is not easy or fun, is no easy to fall asleep praying he's ok," She took a moment and spoke one more time.
"Is not easy or fun to know that you are in danger and to know you might end up where he is right now, regardless of what we had in the past..." a knot formed in her throat.
The feeling of being alone was scary. The word ‘family’ didn’t apply to the Torettos, just the thought of having the blonde ex-cop behind bars was unbearable.

Finally she was explaining herself but her last words almost stung. 'what we had in the past'. Why was she here then if not for her brother or her own feelings. But who was he kidding? Of course it was in the past. It had to be. He placed his hand on her just like he always had done and nodded. "Whatever your reasons are. I'm glad you're here now. Do you have Doms contact? He told me about a guy he always hung out with here. The guy doesn't seem to mind a record." He frowned at his own dirty vest. How had things suddenly turned 180 degrees so fast?

She wasn’t expecting his touch, and immediately removed her hand from under his. Every word she said was the truth, she knew her words had made an impact, but the bottom line of all this was that… the past.
She gave him a weak but quick smile. “Here,” she began to say as she handed him a small piece of paper of Dom’s contact. ‘Whatever your reasons are…’ she recalled his words. Well, she had lots of reasons to be here.

Brian flinched unnoticably when she removed her hand and leaned back against the back of the plastic chair. The small piece of paper caught his eye. "Han...I've heard that name before. Thank you." He shoved it in his pocket. "You must be tired. Where are you staying?"

"Yes, a little tired," she rubbed her eyes, but who was she kidding? she wasn't a "little" tired but a lot tired, so tired that her eyelids felt heavy each time she blinked.
Before seeing Brian she cancelled the reservation of the hotel she was going to stay in because of the not so near location, she wanted to be near downtown so she could go out and buy whatever she needed whether it was food, or clothes. She wasn’t worry about exposure; she had her ways of blending very well with the Japanese population.
"I'm staying downtown," she answered him, even though she didn't have a reservation yet, if things got complicated for her to stay and pay for a hotel room, then she would call Han.

Brian nodded and looked at the waitress who was waiting to take their orders. "Can I get a coke and a sandwich, please?" He then waited for Mira to place an order, while he stayed alert and made sure that nobody took any great interest in them.
"So how have you been? What are you doing now?" Brian enquired. He never wanted to loose touch with her but life had different plans. Hopefully she was getting along.

Brian's eyes scanned the restaurant and the people that walked by, but she didn't seem annoyed by his action. She smiled to the waitress before placing her order. “I’d love a sandwich too, thanks” The waitress wrote down their orders and hurried to the kitchen. Once the waitress was no near them she turned to Brian.
"I've been good," she answered his first question. "What am I doing now? Besides, waiting for my lunch... getting to know Japan a little bit more, it was time for me to ask for a little vacation away from L.A." She had to get along with Brian. She was here with him with a purpose, to find a solution to this whole mess he was in.
It was her turn to question him “How have you been?” it had to be more than running around. What she really was trying to get at was… What was new in his life? Was he alone? Was he married? Or maybe he was a father? Curiosity filled her eyes.

Brian was hoping for a little more details. So he smiled wearily. "I meant more like..what are you working now, do you still live in the Fort, do you see any of the gang? ....Are you HAPPY?" The last one was the most important question. For one Brian hoped she was happy just for her sake but at the same time a part of him wished she wasn't completely fulfilled and happy now that he was out of her life.
In regards to her question he actually laughed loudly."Wonderful!" and scratched his head. He then lowered his voice and leaned across the table. "An ice cold killer framed me, put drugs in my car, made it look like I stole some cars, shot people and had my partner shot me...how do you think I fell?" My question comes out a little too angry. The anger isn't directed at Mia though but Walter and myself for being such a gullible fool.

She knew very well what he meant before she answered his question, but she didn't want to give a lot about her life. "I'm hoping to find a job here soon. I mean I have if not had a job back in L.A. and I haven't seen any of the 'gang' members other than you," Her gaze never leaving his eyes, there was one more answer for her to find the right words.
I mean what could she tell the guy? Yes, she was happy... wait...wait, but was she THAT HAPPY? The last couple of months her life was not so happy anymore, Dom in jail, Brian running, and Letty dead... She stopped herself from answering his last question, but analyzed his words in regards to her question.
His angry voice, it was something new for her to see him explode like he just did. In the outside, she sat still, but deep inside her she winced as she heard him. She felt bad for the guy. “Yeah, that sounds like fun,” there was no humor in her voice, as she delivered those words. Funny how he was running from the law, was that a way for Karma to manifest in Brian’s life? After all Letty died because of him but at the end it was also her decision, a decision that went wrong and cost Letty her own life.

Mia's dry reply sparked his anger even more. Fun- pahh. It surely wasn't directed at her but had to somehow make its way to the surface eventually. Pointing out the window onto the busy street he added in an even lower hiss." I had to take a damn ship half way across the world to come to a place like this where I'm as out of place as polar bear in the jungle." The awkward comparison almost made him smile. "Worst part about it is...I have done nothing wrong and can never go back home." Whether that was really true and he was really as innocent as he made out to be Brian wasn't even sure himself.
Suddenly he stopped himself as he noticed one or the other irriated look. Especially the one on Mia's face. Why was he airing to her? Maybe because she was the one person who travelled all the way to Japan to help him and the one person he shared some history with. The girl he had once loved. Uneasily Brian shifted in his seat and muttered. "I'm sorry. It's been a rough ride."
To change the subject he went on to the next best thing they could talk about. "How's Dom doing? Is he getting along?" Heck, if Brian was unlucky he'd be asking him that question in person soon.

“Sorry, I shouldn’t have said that in the first place,” The guy was running from the freaking law, and the last thing she wanted to do was making him angrier.
‘I have done nothing wrong and can never go back home,’ that hurt to hear, to realize he would never be able to come back, to know he was innocent, there was no need for Brian to prove his innocence to her, because she knew him very well.
Her chocolate brown eyes were now on his baby blue ones. “You’ll be able to go back home, I don’t know how but we’ll fix it,” she spoke softly to him as she reached for his hand giving it a quick squeeze.
She smiled as she thought of her brother “Dom’s doing ok. Nobody wants to mess with him. A part of me is happy that he won’t be getting in more trouble, but being locked behind bars is no life either,” her smile disappear “Sometimes I wish to just get him out of there and get out of the U.S, and start a new life, but then again running ain’t freedom.”
