To say the least, Han was surprised that this new guy Mia brought in already knew Dom, and apparently knew a few things about himself as well. He walked over to his small beverage frig next to a row of imports and grabbed a few Orion drafts. "Dom and I were close back in the day. Sounds to me like you knew each other real well too." He handed Brian and Mira their beers. "So what brings you two here, to Tokyo of all places?"

Han was so right, Brian and Dom had an interesting past. She took the brown bottle, and drank a little letting the golden liquin made its way down her throat. She thanked him and answered his question about Dom. "Dom's in jail, and he's behaving."
She looked at Brian. "You have lots of explaining to do to Han," drinking a little bit more of her beer.

Brian smiled a little with a side glance at Mia. "Yeah, Dom and I have a history as well." He took the beer from Han and opened it. The sound was promising the taste even better. "I'm looking for a couple of stolen cars here in Tokyo. They were stolen in Miami and I saw one of them here. Dom told me you're the guy to go to when it comes to expensive, fast cars." Right now he was just testing the water and waiting for a reaction, so Brian added. "I need to find them fast if I don't want to join Dom in Lompoc."

Han was a little surprised to hear that Dom was in jail, usually he was pretty good about avoiding that place. He would've made further comment on that if Brian's words didn't alarm him. "What kind of cars exactly?" He scratched his chin and glanced over where a Koenigsegg CCXR should be standing. One of his drivers, Neela, had taken it out to be repainted. Han knew that chances were it was stolen, given the price he paid for it, which was about 2/3rds of the car's value. "How exactly does finding these cars you're after set you free?" He questioned.

The question alone and his change in posture made Brian think that Han might know something. He looked around the mostly empty garage and named a few of the cars including the one he had recently run into (OOC: far...out I forgot the damn names again, what kind of a FF player am I?). Among the cars was the Koenigsegg as well.
Brian exchanged another glance wondering how much he could tell this stranger without risking his own freedom. Since Dom was the one who recommended Han he figured he could give up some information. "Because I'm supposed to have stolen those cars. "

Han looked confused for a moment before he was able to piece together a few things. "So you were framed then?" He looked Brian directly. The first thought that came to Han's mind was that this guy was an undercover cop. Even if he did work with Dom, why would something like this be such a big deal to him? In his business, if someone dares to set you up you go find that son of bitch, let him have it, and then take his loot, not try to hand the police what they want so you can go free. He really wondered how this guy could've possibly had a clean record rolling with Dom. Did he have anything to do with why Dom was in jail? His mind returned to Brian. "There's certainly cars like that around here, but I haven't seen any that have been suspicious. Besides, even if you do find one that appears stolen, theres simply no way in hell you could ever get your hands on it. It's a lost cause." He studied Brian further.

Brian could see Hans inquisitive look. "Yeah, I've been framd big time." Should he really go that extra step and spook the guy? "I was a cop working a case involving those cars and when I got too close they turned it around and made it look like I stole those cars...plus a few other things." Hans next words made him loose hope-if a local said it was hopeless... "why do you say that? If I find the owner, I can get the cars back...and maybe track down the bastard who really stole them."

Han took another sip of beer as he watched Brian talk. So he was a cop...but supposedly isn't anymore. Han thought that this was either the worst undercover attempt ever, or this guy got screwed out of his mind. He laughed at Brian's suggestion to get the cars. "So you really think you'll just walk up to the owner of some exotic car you think is stolen, tell him it's stolen, and get it back?" He shook his head. "Man do you know who you're dealing with here? You'd be lucky to walk out of there."

Did Han really think he was that stupid? "Just leave it up to me what I'm going to do when I find the cars. I'm a little more subtle than that." He told him. The remark about walking away alive caught the ecx cops atterntion though."What do you mean by that...who would buy those kind of cars around here?"

Brian's last words confirmed to Han that he had no idea what he was getting into. "90% of the higher end cars you see at the races here are mafia owned. In fact, a good part of the racing and drifting scene here is involved with various mafias." Han started pacing the floor. "That's why even getting near cars like those is a big challenge. The other thing for you to know, is that the owners of these cars most likely know they're stolen, and they don't care." Han paused before going back to the frig and getting a bag of chips. "The only reasonable way you could even make an attempt to get to these exotics is by somehow getting involved with mafia work, and that would be next to impossible especially for an American."

Brian desperately ran his hands through his hair. "Fuck!" Can't things ever be easy? "Japanese mafia...wonderful." That just about shattered every hope he had about clearing his name. Sighing he sat down. "I'm fucked!" For a long two minutes he did nothing but shake his head until he raised it again with an angry glare in his eyes. "I'm not giving up. Screw those bastards...I'm not going to run forever...what would it take for you to help me?" He could tell that Han had his reservations about Brian.

Han sighed and leaned against a yellow NSX next to the frig. What could this guy possibly do for Han to risk himself to help him out? "Most of it is in your own hands, there's not much any of us could do. However, if you can show to me that you're an excellent driver. I may be able to get you a spot in a tournament with some of the mafia's drivers. Slips for the cars are on the line, it's one of the ways the mafias 'peacefully' compete with each other. Thing is, you need to prove you are among the best of the best, and you need a ride that won't embarrass itself against the exotics you'll be up against." Han munched on a few more chips and started pacing again. He hoped he wasn't making a big mistake. "As far as I'm concerned, that's your only shot."

The hope returned with Hans words and plastered a broad, boyish smile on Brians face. "Why didn't you say that any earlier?" With a side glance at the car he was leaning on Brian added. "Now I only need a decent car...or a little touch up." His own Skyline had been confiscated by Hobbs, Cole had smashed his but Miras still sat at the backpackers.

Han grinned. Brian's immediate excitement probably meant that he didn't realize the chance he actually had of even holding a candle to his competition. "I didn't say that earlier because it's not a good idea, but it's your only idea. The drivers you're going up against are the best in Japan, thats why they drive for the mafia, and the cars are pure racing machines, hundreds of thousands of dollars invested in them. Money is no issue to these guys."

"Well, they haven't seen me drive yet." His cocky attitude returned when it came to driving and cars. Brian felt invincible unless the other drivers name was Dominic Toretto and even Dom could be beat. "So I'll have to 'borrow' some tools to fix up my girl friends car. What kind of performance 'enhancers' do you have here?"

Han shook his head at Brian's self confidence, he didn't realize what he was up against. "Girlfriend's car? Unless your girlfriends car is a lambo or something similar, you have zero chance." Han waved his hand over his entire garage. "See all these cars here? Very worthy for the normal friday night street racing meet, but I wouldn't even think about entering any of them in this race. Not in a race where you'll be going against some of the most highly advanced and expensive cars in the world."
