He grinned. "I'm in all the way, might as well go for broke." He had a hard time seeing how this was going to work, but one thing he did know was that Brian better be grateful for this.

"Alight kid." Mira opened the safe door and pulled out a bullet proof vest. "Keep this in your car." She tosses it to him and went back to the safe putting to standard issue shotguns and her two Glock pistols into a steal gun case. "Okay now the two of us are gonna stay at Diablo's from now on. It's not safe here anymore." She grabbed Max's leash and vest form the hook by the door. "Lets go."

Cole raised an eyebrow. "A bullet proof vest? Really?" Nonetheless he threw it in his car just in case and waited for Mira to get into her charger. The way she was talking, he wasn't sure Diablo's would be a good place either. Breaking someone out of prison usually meant everyone was looking for you. To be honest, he thought they held a good chance of getting chased out of the city. He looked over to Mira. "Whats the backup plan?"

Mira popped the trunk of her Charger. "Don't got one. We get Brian out, go to where ever f*ckface took the stolen cars, get them back, and arrest said f*ckface." She put the gun case and her duffel bag into the trunk of the Charger. Things always seemed easier in theory then they very were in practice. Nurse Julia Hansen, who had just started her shift, picked up her clipboard reading the first name. Brian O'Conner. 'Great...' She though as she made her way up to his room. The guard opened the door and let her in. "Good morning Mr. O'Conner I'm Julia and I'll be your nurse for the rest of your stay. How are you feeling?" She walked to the cabinet in the room and started taking out supplies to change his bandage. Hopefully this guy wasn't as crazy as the news made him seem.

Brian had been successful in his quest to make his stay longer. At least the throbbing in his shoulder said so. Maybe a little better than he was hoping. Brian was in a lot of pain. So when the pretty nurse entered he blurted out. "Finally. I need some aspirin or something,...please." The woman sounded like a stewardess trying to make his stay pleasant but she looked intimidated.

Julia walked over and set the gauze and disinfectant on the table next to his bed. "Alright." She walked out of the room and came back a few minutes later with two paper cups. One full of water and another with two pills. Setting them on the table as well she uncuffed his left wrist. "Now I need you to sit up." When he was finally upright she handed him the two cups. "That should help." She gently removed the bandage from his shoulder. Unable to stand the awkward silecene she tried to start a conversation with him. "So I'm guess the blonde who was here a few days ago is your wife?" She had over heard some of the young interns talking about the girl and figured she might be a safe topic to bring up.

Thankful for the little bit of trust she put in him by uncuffing one of his wrists he rubbed the ginger skin and the took the cup and swallowed one pill after the other. Usually he wasn't a fan of tablets but now he'd take anything he could get. He had started to feel more than some pain in his shoulder, a little unwell but didn't want to say anything yet. The worse it got the longer his stay would last. What an odd thought.
"Thank you, Julie." Tired he blinked at Julie and watched her. Seeing her was the most interesting thing that had happened all day and Brian intended to keep her around for a bit just for entertainment purposes and maybe find out a little more about this place. "She's my partner. I should say was." For a second he got taken back to when he thought Mira was Walters ally.

Julia was a little taken back by his answer. "Wow never would have guessed that." She threw the old bandage away and looked at the wound. "Well that's not good..." She took a piece of damp gauze and started to clean the wound. It was a lot redder then it should be and looked pretty irritated. "This is gonna hurt a little." She put a little disinfectant on a new piece of gauze then pressed it lightly to the exit part of the wound.

Why she never would have guessed that Mira was his partner wasn't hard to tell. Mira simply didn't look like a cop. Such a beautiful, petite woman. The smile on his lips soon faded when he saw the alcohol in her hand. But putting on a brave face was on of his specialities. he followed the gauze with his eyes to the hot, red wound and tried very hard not to react whatsoever but failed miserably. He twitched and tried to scoot away but the second handcuff kept him where he was. When she took her hand away the burning slowly subsided and he let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding. Instead of any comment he simply kept watching her and finally stated. "It sucks, doesn't it? Being assigned to me..." Brian could tell by the way she was watching her back. Why was he starting to feel like a real criminal, like he deserved this?

"Not as bad as I thought it would be." Julia smiled a little. " I have had much worse patients." She finished cleaning the exit wound and moved to the entrance wound. "If it makes you feel any better my fiance and I think your innocent." She pulled the bandage off the entrance wound. This one didn't look as bad as the exit wound. A little more disinfectant and the wound was cleaned up, so she placed a new bandage on it. Grabbing the used gauze she carried them to the garbage can and threw them away along with her rubber gloves.

Brian carefully leaned back when she was done and asked. "Why do you say that?" It just didn't make any sense to him why strangers would belief he was innocent when there was a bag full of evidence against him. For some reason he felt like returning some trust and muttered. "She's actually also my girlfriend." His eyes rested on the fingers of his right hand for a moment. He turned his hand a little and moved them. "My fingers on my right hand are numb. Is there any chance you could take those handcuffs off as well? And no, I'm not lying."

"Cause a year ago, my niece went missing and you were one of the officers that helped bring her home." Julia washed her hands in the sink before she walked back over to him. Her green eye meet Brian's pale blue ones. "I figured she meant more to you then you said." She reached down and uncuffed his right hand. "Who ever cuffed these last made them way to tight. I'll make then a little loser before I leave." She picked up his charts and started to fill it in.

Brian had to think about it a little but then recalled the girl. "Wow, yes. She was missing for almost 60 hours. Delia, right?" Now he actually had to smile a genuine smile. No matter how many mistakes he made this week, his job wasn't useless. During the past 10 years he actually did some good. "How is she? Did she deal alright with it?" With his left hand he rubbed the other wrist now and pushed himself up to a full upright position. Finally he could sit and move his arms. "Is it okay if I stand up?" Now would actually be the perfect opportunity for him to try and escape. Nobody would stop him with Julia as his hostage...not after what he had supposedly done.

"Yeah she is doing great. She just had her sixth birthday a few weeks ago. She has decided she wants to be a police officer when she grows up." Julia smiled a little more. "Yeah go ahead. just don't wander off." She giggled a little bit. "So from the looks of your wound you managed to get it infected so after the doctor visits to check the wound he will probably start you on antibiotics to get rid of it." She wrote down a few notes and finished cleaning up the medical supplies.

Brian swung his legs over the edge of the bed and sat up but as soon as he was standing his vision was gone. Sitting back down he waited a few moments and then got back up. Out of the corner of his eyes he shot glances at Julia. If only his Skyline was down in the parking lot. He supported his right arm with his left and started walking to the window, then turned back. His eyes scanned the room for anything he could use as a weapong like scissors or a scalpel. Brian noticed how he started shaking a little. He could not do that to her. He was no damn criminal!
"How about you let me go? I'm not guilty of everything they blame me for. But I'll go to prison for a long time. How about just forgetting to put the cuffs back on?" He searched her face. How could he even ask that of her? She'd be charged herself.
"I'm sorry, Julia. Forget that."

"It's fine. I would if I could but I'd get in a lot of trouble." Julia sat down in a chair and looked over some more of his paper work. "If you did walk out of here today what would you do?" She was curious and buying a little more time so he could streak his legs and move around. Criminal or not it was not fair to leave someone hand cuffed to a bed all day.

Brian leaned forward to stretch his legs and bed them, again rubbed his sore wrists and thought about her question. "I'd run and hide and never look back. Move to a remote island with my girlfriend and..." His heart started to ache. "And raise our baby together. That's all." Biting his lip he stared ahead. The thought of this never happening made him so sad and mad at the same time that he unconsciously grit his teeth. "You'd better put those handcuffs back on me before I get stupid ideas."

Julia looked up from the paper work. " Your girlfriend is pregnant?" She felt her heart break for him. He was an innocent man on trial for crimes he didn't commit and all he wanted was to be with his girlfriend to raise their baby. It was the saddest and sweetest thing she had ever heard. "I should probably finish my rounds." She stood and waited for him to lay back down.

The expression on her face remotely mirrored the way he felt. laying back down was the last thing he wanted but followed her orders. Back in bed he wiggled his fingers again. "Still no feeling." He had a sneaking suspicion that it wasn't the handcuffs fault but she'd probably think it was an excuse. Sighing he leaned back against the pillow and with his gaze fixed at the neon lamp let his hands fall into place to be locked up again. Out the window went his chance of escape and her chance of landing in prison.

Julia relocked the handcuffs around his wrists, making sure they where just lose enough that if he really tired he could pull his hands free. "Congratulations on the baby and good luck being a dad." She smiled and grabbed his files waving a little as she walked out the door closing behind her.
