Near the finish of the track was where Stephano viewed the race. Looking over his shoulder he spyed a farmiliar face in the crowd; Brain. Taking a moment from race Stephano walked over to the ex-cop. Before reaching the midway point Brain noticed Stephano's approach. He join the procession and the two men meet in the middle of the sea people completly obivous to what was happening.
"Well we meet again friend of Mr. Peyton. You still have yet to inform me of your name, now would you be so kind?" Smirking and using quite the stately voice Stephano attempted to take immediate control of conversation. Then removing his right hand from the jacket's pocket Stephano extended his arm.

Not only was Cole relieved, but also quite excited for how far Manako was out front. They had this in the bag, he had already beaten this guy once, all he had to do was stay in front of him. Cole waited for the split second Manako's wheels touched the line and then sent his own GT-R off in a smokey glory. He didn't push the car that hard through the first few corners, but kept his revs up, just to be sure. As the turn-around came up, he downshifted to 2nd and then locked the rear tires to do a nice little handbrake turn around the barrel and then off in the opposite directing, seeing that the Gallardo hadn't gained much if any ground. All seemed well, until the engine made a bad cough at a shift near the top of 3rd. Cole could feel the loss of power almost immediately, and although the car was still pulling, it felt like it had about half the amount of power it had before, not to mention it sounded very sour. This wasn't good.
Cole debated whether to keep pushing the engine in hopes it could hold out until the finish or nurse it home at the risk of the Gallardo catching up. A quick check in the mirror revealed that it was already making up ground, fast. He had no choice but to rev the shit out of it and hope for the best. Finally that long dreaded straight came to an end and Cole could carry normal speed through the corners, ending the lambo's frantic catch up. It didn't last long though, as another corner and two decent sized straights still loomed. As he rounded the second to last corner, he got back to the gas early and the engine protested badly, he was beginning to think it was going to blow up any second. He rowed it through the gears as normal despite the vibrations and horrible exhaust note. It soldiered on, and although the lambo had closed the distance to about 8 car lengths, Cole was approaching the last corner, where he could deal his final bit of damage before the haul to the finish. He broke very late, partially since he wasn't carrying in a whole lot of speed, and got down to the apex to get a decent run off, despite the engine. He thought he had enough distance on the Gallardo to beat it to the line...if the engine could hold on for another 300 yards. Another check in his mirror showed a closing Italian exotic, and a thin trail of white smoke from the back of the Nissan. "Come on, car, come on." Cole did his best to will the thing to the line. The lambo was just about to pull out to the left of him to attempt a pass, but both cars crossed the line right before the exotic could get beside him. What a huge relief that was, even though Cole's heart rate was still ridiculously high.
He limped back to the lot, both he and the car out of breathe. He rolled the injured R35 to where Manako, Stephano, and Brian....wait, Brian?! "Oh fuck!" Cole exclaimed as he realized who had Brian's attention. He quickly shut off the engine, which was about ready to stall out on its own, and released the hood latch for later viewing. Right now the Brian situation was more important. He hustled by his car, which was bellowing clouds of white smoke from the hood. And approached the three of them, not knowing what to say.
During this commotion, he forgot how much money they had just won.

Out of nowhere, Jack suddenly emerged from the racing crowd and moved behind his unsuspecting brother. He didn't bother to notice the suit standing with Brian, or even Cole, when he smacked him upside his head with enough force to hurt. Older brother or not, and no matter how many stunts he himself had pulled on Brian in the past, nobody else but him drove his EVO... especially without asking first!
"When I say 'me casa es su casa', I don't mean 'mi coche es tu coche', asshat," he said, and not without the least bit of annoyance present in his voice. He couldn't even be gone for a couple of weeks or his brother turned into, what? a less good-looking, not to mention older, version of him, taking things that weren't his without permission? No fucking way.
"Now hand me back my keys before I make you choke on them, bro. You can't drive for shit." His last words were obviously a joke, meant to push some buttons. Jack had caught the last few seconds of the race, and even he had to admit Brian had some skill behind the wheel. But still, it had been his wheel; if there was even one small scratch on the paint job that wasn't there before, he would not be a happy camper.
(Sorry for always disappearing, I just thought this was funny seeing as how Brian STOLE Jack's car! Yeah, I'm watching you, brotha! Lol, you can ignore me if you want XD)

The whole race had been part of a greater plan. Since his friend Cole wasn't willing to back out of the deal with the mob Brian was hoping to show the Italians that maybe Cole wasn't worth being on their payroll since there were better people out there. Maybe they'd simply drop Cole before he got into deep with them.
So he watched the big expensive suit carefully and was content to watch him walk over towards him. His face didn't reveil anything when the man demanded to know his name and extended his hand. Brian returned the firm handshake but neglected to tell him his name. "What's somebody like you doing out here? You don't seem like the usual race crowd." Out of the corner of his eye he nocticed Cole's smokey win. This could be perfect timing. "Quite the driver you picked there. I think he just wrecked your car. Maybe choose more carefully next time. Get somebody who can actually keep his promises and his car in one piece."
Next thing he almost jumped out of his skin when somebody slapped him at the back of his head. His first thought was 'one of Dieselis men is knocking me out and dropping me off the dock with led on my feet'. Instinctively he whirled around, grabbed the guys wrist and hauled off. Only then did he notice that the guy wasn't one of the mobsters but his very own sweet brother so he stopped in midair and dropped his fist. "Holy shit!" His eyes widened. There was another guy with a huge bulls eye on his forehead. Jack would make ideal mob material. Crazy for racing, good driver and very gullible fool. "Excuse me." He told Jack quickly pulling him aside. He reached into his pocket and pulled out the keys placing them in his brothers hand. " Now listen to me for once in your life and get lost. I'll explain everything later." Of course Jack would be angry that he had taken his keys and money without even asking.
Then he turned back to the gangster and shrugged. He told him trying hard not to show that they were related. "I think we better get out of here...not long until the cops will show up."

As Manako watched Cole pull up he knew what had happen. "Cole I think you might have blown your turbo." Manako said walking over to Cole's R35 and looked at the engine and noticed his suspicions were correct. The Intercooler had a crack on it and the Turbo had a crack down the middle of it. Manako hovered his hand over the turbo and heat was still coming off of it. "Yeah By the way it looks you might have to replace the engine too." Manako said looking at Cole.

"It's a lot more than a turbo, my friend." Cole said still glaring at Brian "It sounded like it was about to throw a rod out the block."
Finally Cole mustered the words to confront Brian. Boy was he about to get chewed out. He stepped in by him and dragged him several meters away from Stephano, not really caring if he overheard. The mobster probably knew everything anyway. "What in all things holy are you doing here?!"

OOC: Just a heads up this happens before Cole speaks with Brain.
Observing Brain leave for a second to speak with the man made Stephano uncomfortable, curious and nervous. Who was he, were the related? The list continued on and on until Brain turned back and reentered the conversation.
"Listen here, the police don't scare me. Stephano said boasting. Hell, they can't touch me here or anywhere!" Changing the subject Stephano continued. "You have some nerve for those remarks, being that man's cagna and all. Now don't you go bad mouthing my racers again or you'll end up dead like one my previous men; Vincient. Brain took and step back and was dumbstruck. How could have Stephano known he thought. "Oh, you thought we wouldn't remember you after the dinner I held. Watching us from the bathroom, seeing the corpse, following us to the crematorium. You thought you were stealthy, truth is that the table was reversed, you were wrong about it all... Brain." Stephano grinned slightly seeing Brain's heart sink to the floor. "I took the liberty of looking through the police records in the area and well lets just say your face is hard to forget. How's your trial going?
Stephano folded his arms over and relaxed his stance. He knew Brain would need a moment to recover and respond to this bombshell.

Stephanos threads only impressed Brian that much. He was used to criminals telling him that they'd kill him or torture him in the worst ways. The fact that he knew Stephano was able to go through with his threads gave them some weight.
What really shocked him was when the man reveiled how much he actually knew about him and had gone to the trouble to find all that out. He'd been exposed as fast and as much as never before. Brian's jaw literally dropped and he was at a loss of words.
Finally he only muttered. "So you know who I am. At least what's in my file." At least the man also had to know what sort of crooked and now 'kicked off the force' cop he was. So he figured he'd better start telling the truth before Stephano would make his thread come true. "I'm just here for my friend and some racing, that's it. I have no interest in your business or what I used t do for a living until a few months ago. I'm just saying Cole can't always win. Drop the kid." There was no hint of thread in his tone but neither any pleading. Just matter of fact.
Next thing he knew Cole was dragging him away from Stephano. "I'm just here to do a little driving myself, win some cash...I'm kind of broke.: He neglected to explain his plan to Cole, who would obviously not be a fan of it.

As Manako listen to all the conversations around him the Race Director walked up and said "Hey you and your friend just won the tag team and here is your money." he then hands Manako the money both Cole and him won. As the race director began walking to Cole when a spectator runs up with a camera and asked "Hey are you the driver of the Skyline?" Manako looks at the guy and answered "Yeah what's up?" The spectator then said showing Manako the clip of the turn around "Well your an amazing driver and drifting around the Murcielago like that while keeping a steady pace was unreal." Manako Smiled and said "Thanks but the only thing I was doing was Driving like I usually do." then Manako asked "Is it alright I get a copy of that?" the guy looked at him and said "Sure I'll be right back." then he ran off and about 3 minutes later he was back with a flash drive. "Here you go also what's your name?" the guy asked handing Manako the flash drive. "My name is Manako Sora and whats yours?" Manako said taking the flash "My name is Ken Smith and I would to follow you tio every race and film you if that's alright?" Ken asked smiling. Manako looked at him and said "Sure."

As Brain moved to speak with Cole, Stephano to the time to congradulate Manako on winning such an important race. Walking over to his location Stephano spyed another man talking to him. Approaching Manako Stephano spoke. "Mr. Sora who the hell is this? I thought I made it CLEAR that you were to inform me of situtations like this! Well what do you have to say for it?" Gripping his C96 Mauser, Stephano glared at Manako and the man standing next to him.

Manako looked at Stephano and said "Don't worry he is just a fan who is willing to record all my races and every win. and plus if he records every win that means more money boss." Manako smiled before continuing "And plus if you are going to see a lot of guys like him video taping races and recording wins."

Manako words fell on deaf ears. Instead of comforting Stephano they only worried him. Pulling Manako aside, away from the recorder Stepahno spoke. "Mr. Sora I feel that you don't understand that this isn't a legal venue to profit from. All acts done here are illegal in the eyes of the police and by having some idiot as such this recording your work will compromise everything that is at work here. I am afraid that that man knows to much, and like a sickly dog he must be put down."

Cole gave Brian a 'don't **** with me' look. "What are you talking to Stephano about? You want to get yourself in my position?!" Cole said pretty hushed to avoid Stephano's attention but with plenty of emphasis in his voice. "You make the least amount of sense to me sometimes." He shook his head.

Brian knew Cole didn't understand why Brian was still trying to save him from becoming a Mafia toy. Why exactly he cared so much about the stubborn kid he didn't even know himself, yet he wanted him off the hook.
Brian just shrugged. "I thought he might noticed you're not the best diver around and drop you...without breaking your wings, you know." He offered Cole a sarcastic smile. It was hard to watch the young guy get suckered into this world of fast cars and big bucks and bulletts through your brain.
"If you don't want to protect yourself I have to do it for you."

Manako looked at Stephano with a little concern before saying "Well that might be a problem because no matter what you do there will be more people with cameras recording and documenting races. So if you kill one you have to kill all. Trust me that won't be good if multiple people go missing will cause suspicion." then Manako looks around "plus If there were any cops with cameras in the crowd they would usually point it towards who they were assigned to." then Manako looks at the Ken and continues "plus If you want to get the camera guys name it's Ken Smith. and you said when we first met you have cops on the payroll. maybe you should check him out before killing him."

Cole couldn't believe Brian's logic, no mob would simply let him go at this point. He'd probably be disposed of if they thought he was an average driver. He had to keep his voice in check so Stephano couldn't hear them, but inwardly he was blowing up. "Seriously? You really think proving to them that I'm not a good driver will help me? Are you out of your mind?!"
Of all times Brian made him upset, this one was right up there. He could very well get Cole killed this way. From what he had seen, the mob didn't hold a candle to any life, and that meant his own as well. "If what you're trying to do is protect me, I could not think of a worse way to do it."

Cole's attitude ticked him off so he snapped back. "The way I see it you've already shoveled your own grave...sooner or later he'll get rid of you. Nobody can win forever." He gave him an evil smirk. "I thought I'd give it a try." He crossed his arms inf front of his chest and shot a glance across Coles shoulder at the Mobsters, who were out of ear shot.

"He ain't gonna get rid of me if he still thinks I'm the best, even he knows no one can win every race." He made an assumption to prove a point. Brian's words did come as sort of a nudge in the side though, a reminder of how dangerous this was and just how thin the ice he was walking on was. Though he researched them whenever he could, he wasn't familiar with the mob, and how they dealt business. It constantly made him nervous, but he did know that all they cared about was money, and if he could provide that, he was golden.
"Well maybe think a little before you give other ideas a try. What if you did convince him for you to take your place? You're a father Brian, this is no business for you to be in."

"I'd say no, my friend." Brian clapped him on the shoulder to stress his point. "Right off the bet." He then took a step closer to him. "Just be careful, don't raise the stakes so high that even you can meet them any more. You're one of the best out there but you have to get him used to not always winning if you want to survive this dangerous game."
He nodded towards Stephano, who had his back to him. "I better leave before I cause you more trouble." Winning or loosing against Manako was one thing. He turned around to search for Jack and his car who had hopefully not left without him. Brian was pretty sure that his brother was still checking out some scantly clad ladies or powerful engines.

Manako's words fell on deaf ears, Stephano's mind was already made. Agreeing only to silence the ranting Manako, Stephano spoke. "Mr. Sora I understand fully what you are saying and I feel that I must have been mistaken. If what you say is true I have no choice, Mr. Smith we have much to discuss about your new job." Stephano waved his hand ordering Manako to leave, then putting his hand on Mr. Smith's shoulder, Stephano lead him through the crowds of people.
As the two walked Stephano spyed the Continental and Paolo standing outside smoke a cigarette. Joining Paolo, Stephano introduced the two men to each other and told Paolo to take Mr. Smith on a stroll to talk salaries and other issues. Mr. Smith eagarly bought the ruse and blindly followed Paolo. Once away from the crowded street race Paolo reached into his pocket claiming to retreving a business card. Instead a spoll of piano wire was taken and Paolo quickly reached for Mr. Smith's neck. The reporter hadn't a prayer against this trained killer and he soon fell to the hands of Paolo.
After hiding the body for a later time Paolo returned to Stephano and told him that the act was done. Upon hearing the good news Stephano quickly found Manako. Stepping along side him he spoke. "Remember that reporter you sent me? He's dead now and you are the only one to blame. Let this be a lesson for you, so that you know never to disobey me again. Pull another stunt like that and you'll end up like your friend Mr, Smith. Also don't try to run to the police about it, I have seven witnesses ready to testify against and a judge ready to pronouce you guitly." Before Manako could manage a word Stephano retracted into the crowd.
