Mia was pushing him against the wall with his pants down-figuratively speaking. He felt defenseless with her giving him a speech. On top of that he knew very well that it was wrong to bring Jack to the FBI in the first place. He might as well have put a gun to his brothers head himself. So what do you do when you're cornered? You say the worst, most aggressive stuff that comes to your mind. "Hang on a minute. First of all it was his own damn fault that he shot off his big mouth at the race and then the idiot was supposed to stay outside. But what does my stupid brother do? He walks right in!" Now here it came. "Plus what do you know about gangs and the FBI? Why are you telling me how to do my job? I'm not telling you how to do yours!" As soon as the words had left his mouth Brian wished she'd just slap him once more and forget his words.
*sorry, tail between my legs! See?

The nurses at the hospital never got this much action around the station- usually there was a close case ever month or so, and maybge a crying child. But having a blood stained (and gorgeous) cop and everyone's favorite sweetheart fighting in the hallway was like watching HBO. All eyes were on the two now, even though they were trying not to be heard.
Mia lost her cool again. "I'm not telling you how to run your life, Brian! Obviously there are plenty of things about being a cop I don't know- like how to lie to the people you claim to care about and dragging your family into a gang fight because your boss thinks its a good idea." Mia poked Brian in the chest, cheeks flushed in embaressment and anger. "But you know better than most that I know a damned lot about how the streets work..."
Mia could feel the eyes on her, staring at the back of her head. She took a step back from Brian, shaking her head and crossing her arms. She woudl have slapped him again if her hand wasn't hurting. "Maybe I shouldn't come over tonight..."

Mia was really flying off the handle more than Brian had ever seen before. He didn't even know she had it in here. "Why the hell are you so mad? You don't even know my brother." Her mentioning him lying when they first met about who he was hurt. "Goodness! You still hold this grudge from 8 years ago. Let me spell it out for you. I HAD TO DO THAT." He got up and stared down at her. "I had to, Mia!" Now was the time to do a 180 otherwise this could turn out really bad and they'd be off again faster than he could blink. "I had to but I'm really sorry for it. I thought I made up for it by now. I never meant to hurt you and my feelings for you were always real and they still are." His blue eyes reveiled a mixture of sadness and sincerity. A little quieter he added. "But I am who I am. I can't help that. I get into sticky situations a lot."

"Oh, Mia, say your sorry!" One of the nurses behind the station hissed, making Mia turn quickly and glare at the gathering of people. They hurried off to do what they were doing before, and she turned back to Brian, embaressed.
"I didn't mean to go off on you like that." She waved her hand around in the air in front of her. The anger was slowly dissolving, and she was forgetting the reason why she had been so upset in the first place. "I just... I just worry Brian, okay? I care for you a lot and this stupid job of yours makes you do a lot of crazy things..."
She looked at him, sincerely. "I didn't mean most of what I said." She didn't want to mention that she had meant a lot of it, knowing that she was walking on thin ice after what had been going on. "It's just with work, and the trial coming up soon... you can't go and get into gang fights on me okay?" She smiled.

Brian looked at her sadly and bit his lip. He couldn't say okay because they had just become part of it. He knitted his brow and sat down again. The argument had taken the last bit of energy out of him leaving him exhausted and upset. Mia was the one stable good thing in his life right now. He didn't want to screw that up. So he took her hand in a attempt to make up. "I'm really sorry. I know you hate my job but that's all I can do. The only thing I'm good at." He looked into her dark brown eyes and smiled slightly. "C'mon, I'm still standing, right? Don't worry. It'll all be good." With a look at the nurses, who tried to look really busy while they were watching Brian and Mia out of the corner of their eye, he whispered into her ear. "You know what the best way is to make up?"

"You're good at other things, Brian." Mia couldn't think of any that didn't involve shooting or racing off the top of her head though, so she didn't list any. "And it better all be good, Brian because if that gang doesn't get you, then I will..."
Mia dropped her voice so that the nurses couldn't hear. "Slapping you again? Your brother will be out soon. We shouldn't kiss infront of him, right?" Mia said, smiling at Brian. She knew this wasn't the answer he wanted, but she was willing to tease him a bit if it got a rise out of him.

Mia could say just about anything in that sexy low voice and it would turn him on. "I know I'm good at SOMETHING else! You've told me so the other night on your dryer!" He stated proudly. "Kissing? who said something about kissing? But slapping sounds good to me!" He grinned boyishly and smacked his tongue before he pulled her into a hug and placed a kiss on her soft lips sucking on the bottom a little before he let go. "Jack's a big kid. He won't mind."

Mia felt her cheeks heat up awfully fast when Brian mentioned the dryer incident. "You little shit!" She hissed, laughing as she punched his arm. She was sure that every nurse within ear shot was goign to quiz her on exactly what happened on her dryer.
Mia returned Brian's kiss with one of her own, deepening it just enough before pulling back. "I'm on duty, you know." But she knew more than anything that she was sucker for those big blue eyes and pecked him again before pulling out of his arms. "Why don't I come over and cook for my two injured boys tonight?"

Brian felt her lips on his and a smile spread across his face. Thank goodness she didn't brake their realtionship off again. On the contrary. There it was again. The punch in always the same spot. "Ouch. My arm is getting blue and green from you, nurse!"
He teased her some more. "I'm not embarrassed about any incidents on your household appliances, are you?" He looked around at the other nurses 'going on with their business' as if nothing happened.
"Just come over and cook for me. We'll leave the little one here. He's got a concussion. I think they better keep an eye on him here."

Jack watched the doc and couldn't help but smile despite the news he'd dreaded to hear about his hand being broken. The guy was a regular comedian, very different from your standard doctor.
His eyes lit up at the mentioning of painkillers. Legal drugs sounded quite good right now "If you have something that can make me fly high as a kite, I'm gonna make you my new best friend." Maybe, if they were strong enough, they wouldn't just drown out the dull pain in his hand and head, but also the memories of the night.
Then the next thing that came out of the doc's mouth was not amusing him much. A hospital stay? No way in hell was he going to stay longer than necessary. He shook his head. "If it's not mandatory.. I'm definitely not staying, but thanks for the offer."

The guy flashed a nice set of pearly whites at Jack. He'd seen his kind many times before. "You didn't just brake your hand to get some..." He put his fingers in front of his mouth and took a drag of an imaginary j**t. "Sorry, we don't hand that out here." He turned around while Miss Amazing was starting to wrap Jacks arm and hand in some soft cotton padding. When he came back he showed Jack a needle. "Almost as good as... he made the gesture again." Soon the cast followed and the nurse couldn't help but wink at Jack twice.

"You shouldn't leave Jack out just because you want to break in a few more pieces of furniture at your house, Brian." Mia teased, laughing at the thought. She was sure Jack didn't want to know anything about his older brother's relationships- she knew the thought of Dom and Letty, even though she loved them both dearly, made her sick to her stomach.
Mia heard the doctor wrapping up his exam and took a step back from Brian, must to the other nurse's dismay. "I should get back to work, and you should make sure Jack's okay. Tell him I owe him a good punch in the arm, okay?"

Brian had to laugh at her insinuation. It also got him randy. Before he would end up throwing her on the floor of the hospital he got up and said. "okay, let's see what he's doing in there. Hope he's not having too much fun with your pretty colleague." He walked up to the door and looked in through the gap. Briefly he said to Mia rather loudly. "I have a dryer, too, you know? I'll be waiting outside for you to give you a ride home."

Jack smirked at the doc and shrugged. "Maybe you should." He flinched when someone started wrapping up his hand. "Jesus, take it easy would ya?" He shifted his gaze to his hand and then towards the nurse and immediately wished he had kept his mouth shut. Breaking your hand wasn't much fun, but he would gladly break his other hand too for this girl. He shot the nurse a smile. "Forget what I just said. You can hurt me anytime." It was a cheesy line, but who cared.
Right now, he really wasn't interested in the doc and his needle. "Yeah, yeah. Whatever man."

Cheyenne, Mias gorgeous colleague, blushed when Jack said she could hurt him any time. With a wink she said. "Maybe I will." After the doctor had given Jack a shot and said that it should keep him painfree and pretty happy for the next 6-10 hours he left. The nurse held the cast in place until it was dry. "Why are you wearing a bullett proof vest? Are you a police officer or something?"she asked with a hint of admiration and then took a waterproof marker and scribbled her number on the bottom of it. "In case you want me to come over and hurt you." She couldn't help but smile at the young man. Unsually she had to tread old or ugly or female patients. It didn't happen a lot that hot, young guys with such a sexy smile and cool hair came in here. He definetly turned her on and if Brian hadn't poked his head in she probably would have found a couple of other things she could do to him so she wouldn't have to let him go.
"Are you done flirting, bro?" he asked.

Jack smirked at the cop question while he watched her write her number down. "If you want me to be." For this nurse he was more than willing to be anything or anyone. She was hot as hell. Then he rolled his eyes when Brian poked his head through the door. "Would it make a difference if I said no?" He shook his head annoyed by the bad timing. "I guess I have to go now." He muttered at the girl before he started his way towards the door. He was beginning to feel weird from the shot so maybe it was better to leave now anyway. Half way, he turned around and let his eyes glide over the hot nurse one more time before he pointed a finger at her and winked. "But I'll definitely call you, babe." When he turned back around he almost tripped over a chair and spat out a rather loud. "Son of a bitch!" Obviously the combination of trying to be smooth and getting giddy from the shot didn't work very well. He let out an awkward laugh and quickly pushed past his brother, leaving the room before he really started making an ass out of himself.

Brian followed Jack, who was heading down the hallway at a very fast pace just into the wrong direction. "Hey, wait up. Ho, what's happening?" When he caught up with him he pointed over his own shoulder. "The car is that way, dude." As soon as he looked into Jacks dazed and confused eyes he couldn't hide a smile. "Oh, I see. Enjoy it while it lasts. Later on the pain will hit you twice as hard!" He put his arm around Jacks shoulder and ruffled his hair. With a look at the cast he said."That'll definetly give you the sick puppy bonus with the c...I see it already did!" He knocked on the phone number. now heading towards the car he laughed. "You're a ladies man, young O'Conner!"

With a deeply concentrated look, Jack focused on Brian's face as he spoke. He couldn't understand a word of it. With a lisp he asked. "You got subtitles with that?" He laughed at his own joke like it was the funniest thing in the world. Hell, everything was starting to become funny. He even pointed a finger at some old man who was slowly strolling by with the help of a walker and couldn't help but laugh. It didn't earn him any friendly faces however but he was too careless to even notice that. Then he looked down at the phonenumber when Brian tapped against it and grinned wide. "Oh yeah. She wants me bad!" While he followed Brian's lead towards the car he nudged him. "You should let me drive bro! It'll be awesome, I promise!" To him it was the best idea he had so far and he was quite proud of it.

Brian watched Jack with amazement. Whatever the doctor gave him work fast and wild. He took step to the side to get a better full view of this one man show and asked. "Do I have to buy a ticket for this? Jerry Seinfeld would be jealous!"
Upon the mentioning of Jack driving he became a little more serious. "In you dreams, bro. I haven't done a very good job at looking after you but I'll start right now." He opened the door and letv Jack climb or fall into the back seat. Then he took his spot in the drivers seat and waited for Mia to get off work. When Jack demanded music and started singing his mood got a little sour.

"Ugh, finally." Mia groaned, grabbing her personal things from her locker in the nurse's break room. The last thirty minutes of work had been slow and awful- she didn't think anything could be more boring.
"See ya tomorrow, Mia." Cheyenne called after her, waving goodbye to her good friend. Mia was glad that she actually had someone at work she could get along with; and she had seen the way Cheyene was looking at Jack. Maybe they could fit in a double date sometime soon...
She walked outside and found Brian and his Skyline waiting. She nearly laughed outloud when she saw Jack in the backseat, looking more stoned out of his mind than Mia had ever seen anyone act. She slid into the passenger's seat, shooting both O'Conner boys a grin. "Alright, what do you two want for dinner?"
